There's A New Word That's As Good As The Word Benghazi. (Bergdahl)

We need a ball stringing on this one. And I am not talking candy popcorn balls! -
Man you have been saving that one for some time. I like it.

Darn forgot that one. Also forgot, Jimmy Hoffa living in Georgia.

I Want To Hear More About The 650,000 Georgians Without Insurance

Wow, I didn't know you were a Yankee that drank El Toro. That is some rock gut tequila that actual goes down smooth but hurts the brain cells really bad. As a kid loved that darn red sombrero. As an adult, lots of better options like Cabo Wabo. I guess Gov Deal sees some similarities between El Toro and Cabo Wabo and Medicaid expansion. Some ideas taste good but hurt later and then there are those which taste great but don't kick you in the butt later. -
Not condoning the building of a conference center, but Douglasville made a huge mistake by making theirs a stand alone facility. Successful conference centers must have hotel rooms attached to them to succeed. Could Paulding use some more hotel rooms? That is a better debate. Given the new hospital, some other new business coming online, maybe. Besides the usual tax breaks, I would not want Paulding to contribute any money to such a project. Corporate contributions will tell you whether it will make money or not and if none of the major Hotel Chains want to invest, then it won't. Just m

I was quite happy with Hicks Roofing.

Just VOTED for PROGRESS IN PAULDING!

Given all the concrete in place I would vote for the world championship Four Square tournament or the World Hopscotch Tournament. -
Check Access Atlanta. Usually a decent listing of things going on.

Just VOTED for PROGRESS IN PAULDING!

Gotta wonder the meaning of free. Breakfast is easily worth $100 sleeping on a crap bed, with a crazy air conditioner who is louder than your ex-wife, who is in the next room blaring the TV while her boyfriend lets the door slam on his way downstairs to swim naked in the pool. -

Not taking a side here, but how do you measure progress? The simple answer is higher property taxes. Why, the higher the value of your home the more taxes you pay. How does your home value go up? More people want to move here. Where do most people move to nowadays, communities that are self sustainable with good schools, good restaurants, things to do and close to their job. If you voted for people who will accommodate those looking to move here, than you voted for progress. Which means those same folks will be bringing jobs to Paulding because the numbers say most of Paulding works in othe -

Progress, I didn't know tunnel expansion was on the ballot. -
AT&T DSL works off the phone line, so that is probably your most reliable answer. There is satellite service too but not as reliable. Good luck!

Lets hope we dont lose more another big retail chain in hiram

Thankfully JC Penny had a good quarter recently. There have been lots of rumors about them going through bankruptcy. I fully expect us to lose the Staples, based on my experience there. I think part of their problem is logistical. I can't find anything when I go in there. For the employees sake hopefully it survives. -
How To Attract New Businesses to Paulding County ?
bigplay replied to surepip's topic in RECENT TOPICS

Here is what I don't understand. The airport is here, why not do the things that are necessary to make it flourish. Oh we shouldn't because the noise will be too much. Not sure where you live, but Paulding county is in Hartsfields landing route 3-4 days a week. Yeah this morning, planes headed to Hartsfield flew over my house at 5:30am. The Paulding airport will never be a Hartsfield, highly doubt it will become a McCollum, but it can be a great way to bring business and tax revenue. I assume you will be against sewer too, because it will cost y -
How To Attract New Businesses to Paulding County ?
bigplay replied to surepip's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Many good points made above. A couple observations, we do have easy access to rail, thus industrial production is not out of the question. Drive around the county and tell me how many subdivisions have an average value of 400-500,000. Very Few. Why is this important, these types of homes, house small business owners. Small business owners like to live near the office/business. Since the housing bust, building such a development will be quite risky. During the Paulding housing boom our local leaders were quite short sighted in letting their buddies build a bunch of banjo box homes. These -
Ok 8-10 days out, anything can happen. Lived in Michigan 28 years. The forecast over the next ten days is not near as cold as the days preceding Tuesday. What does that mean, the ground will not be cold enough to freeze the snow hitting the ground. If it snows, it will be pretty big flakes, but highly doubtful it sticks to the ground, doubt much to worry about.
-
Creekside sledding and tubing is reporting fresh snow.
-
Well, I had to laugh at the title. My neighborhood has plenty of flakes, just no snow flakes yet.
-
The Olive Garden which was supposed to be built over by Applebee's? Did the tunnels suck it up or is it still in the works?
-
Nope, a DME company out of California.

I received a follow-up call on one of my son's medical bills yesterday that really disturbs me. This company called to discuss payment obviously, but as part of the call they asked for his birthday, which no doubt identifies him as a minor. Then the next form of verification was to provide them our address. Well, that will not happen over the phone when discussing my son. I understand they are a business and need to get paid and they will, but you do not request the address of a minor over the phone. Also, the call seemed to be generated from one of those foreign call centers, which

For those folks living around Nebo and Dallas Nebo, there is a lost dog wandering around the course. He/she is a black lab mix. We tried to get close, but not happening. Can't tell the color of the collar but has a blue rabies tag. Seems to bark a good bit. Currently he is running around hole 18 which is near the clubhouse off Westchester Club dr. Hope he finds his home.
