Ok, avoiding the healthcare debate, I will toss this one out there. In Tuscaloosa, the same Hotel Indigo I paid $180.00 for earlier this year is going $859.00 this weekend. What makes it even crazier, they are playing Colorado St, not Auburn or LSU. Gouging or supply/demand?

So I tell my wife, Irma is gonna turn towards Birmingham, so we should get less of an impact. She says yeah! Then I tell her that means Tuscaloosa is gonna get hit pretty good. She then says sh!t. Our son goes to Bama, hence now she is worried. Just another lesson in be careful what you wish for.

If Irma doesn't turn later today, then she might get far enough west before the turn which would give her a straight shot up the west side without land intervention. That would be bad for the big bend area and for Atlanta. Kind of sucks to ask for other people to get hit, but I know I would not like to see her get in the GOM with nothing but open hot water to build bigger and stronger.

Yeah they are saying the waters north of Cuba are near a record high. Not good news if it doesn't turn away. As of now, they are expecting it reach those waters then turn north. The real question is north or northeast, but once it gets north of Cuba, not much room for error for South Florida. Let's all hope for the best.

Just stopped by. Cuban sandwich quite good. Bottle beer cold cold. Bartender Tina sweet. They are still working towards a big opening, but first experience no complaints. Menu has some diversity. I hope they do well. TVs everywhere so great place to watch sports.

Not a Shep fan since Hurricane Katrina. I still believe in my heart, his reporting on Katrina put people in harms way and I do not want to guess their outcomes. He sat there on camera and said NOLA got grazed and luckily catastrophe was avoided. The dumba$$ didn't understand that the miss was to the wrong side of Katrina as she dumped enough water into the streets to flood the city, which killed many and destroyed large portions of the city. I can still see his face smiling as he said those words. It pisses me off.

Without knowing his interest, I am gonna toss out what I would like. Saturday starts the college football bowl season. I would take him to the College Football Hall of Fame downtown, then get an early dinner at Stats Sports Bar. Their menu is definitely not your normal sports bar type. At Creekside CC, My wife said we had mini little swirls with very high winds in our backyard that took down a few things we forgot to bring in. I was at work, thus had her get in the bathroom. All clear now. Folks living east need to stay alert.

Of course we make plans for our first vacation after sending our son off to college, and what happens 99L/TD9/Soon to be Hermine is headed right at the first stop on our vacation Cedar Key. Then a new report comes and they say its heading right towards our second spot St. Georges Island. Thankfully vacation is two weeks away. Prayers for those impacted by this storm.
