  1. Agree with both. If you can, do it. If not, don't piss and moan about people who can do it.
  2. This is an elementary school? With DJ. Strobe lights. Smoke machines and dark lights and disco balls I'm sure. These are elementary kids, not young adults going to Quad, Opera or Primal! WTF is wrong with these people! Jesus Christ, I'm surprised they didn't have go-go girls dancing in cages, wet t-shirt and booty shaking contest. My daughter is president of the PTA at her children's school and would never take the kids "clubbin" SHAKING MY HEAD!
  3. Or wear white sunglasses. That is a sure douchebag sign.
  4. Sounds familiar I would know him by his nick name or radio handle. Every tower crane operator has one.
  5. Piss on hydrogen. Who needs that crap anyhow? /s I'm all about alternative fuel. As long as my Lamborghini and Ferrari can still reach 250+ mph.
  6. I was being a smart ass in my original reply but you edited and I appreciate that. Personnel cost are not our only cost. We have utility bills. We have mechanics, secretaries, admin assistants, office managers, dispatchers, truck drivers. None of these people actually go out and "earn" us money. Out of the 100 plus people we employ at above average wages, only about 40% of them actually go out and "earn" the company money. The rest of them are there to support the "earners". But we have to pay them to do what we need done. Vehicle insurance, workers comp, health insurance. The money has t
  7. Sure you could. On this type of crane the operators cab is only 4 or 5 feet off of the ground.
  8. People and insurance. Top two for sure. What most don't understand is if we pay a man $25 an hour, he actually cost us $40. We provide health insurance, dental, long term disability, vision, it all ads up. It's not just the men's either. She runs this pink crane for us and can out operate most of the guys. http://www.terex.com/cranes/it/aboutus/news/UCM03_045643.html
  9. High deductibles are common in our industry. We have cranes that cost $230,000 and ones that cost $2 million. So the high deductible covers the gamut of damages or losses. Whether we have a 250k loss or a 2mil loss, it cost us the same. Sucks, but that's how the game is played.
  10. We actually did break out the Dom Pirignon and Beluga tonight. Served in Solo cups with Ritz crackers of course.
  11. We did have a 40 ton Terex on the job for a couple of weeks and one of our 200 ton Link Belts was on the job while we erected the tower cranes that are there now. But, no, we do not actually own tower cranes. We just erect them and dismantle them. We are the only company in Atlanta that does that. A few companies that do own their own put their own up, but we do everyone else's. Our guys travel all over the country erecting tower cranes. Pshaw! Our deductible is $25,000. It's all out of pocket.
  12. Just like the current administration. Never let a crisis go to waste.
  13. Yeah, that isn't our crane. We just put em up and take em down. We don't own tower cranes.
  14. Lord, I apologize and bless the little guinea hens across the street.
  15. We actually did have a couple of guys put political bumper stickers on the cranes they run. We made them take them off quick like. We are in the business to make money. Idiot lib money spends just as good as any.
  16. She works too! This will be here for many years.
  17. You know it! Can't go to Memphis without going to Graceland. We will going on Friday. Not a big fan of Rendezvous. Some people think its the shiznit, I just think its the shiz. We do plan on hitting Tom's BBQ. Consistently voted one of the best in Memphis. It's a dive. I haven't found our fine dining places yet. I just made the reservations yesterday.
  18. He was actually the second pastor of the church in Rowley, not a founder. The Rev. Samuel Phillips (Harvard College, 1650) was settled in June, 1651, as teacher of Mr. Rogers' church, on a a salary varying from £50 to £90 per annum. During the sickness of the pastor, Mr. Phillips performed the whole duties of the ministry, for which service the selectmen ordered that £5 should be paid to him. After the decease of Mr. Rogers, his widow, and those in sympathy with her, continued to annoy Mr. Phillips for the space of eighteen years, on account of his reception of this money, to which the
  19. Speaking of Rowley. I'm doing ancestry now. On of my great great too many great grandfathers was a founder of that town. Rev. Samuel Phillips. His father Rev. George Phillips was the first to settle Watertown, Mass. In 1630. We are also related to the first mayor of Boston, John Phillips. He was a cousin.
