Ga. pastor's academy had 'sex self-check card'
Mama Carol replied to Thoughts from the Evil Galaxy's topic in RECENT TOPICS
wouldn't be the first time a 16 year old or 17 year or 18 year old whored themself out for things BY CHOICE. Teen: "if I give this guy a BJ, I can get attention, a car, get to travel and who knows, maybe file a lawsuit against him and get BIG money". Then, there are many girls who will date a guy just because he can buy them things, take them places or just give them sex. Whoring oneself out? Sure is. Hmmmmm. Let's see: Flagg (one of the plaintiffs) moved into another minister's home after being arrested on an assualt charge — when he was 18. Long would visit, crawl into bed with hi -
Ga. pastor's academy had 'sex self-check card'

I quote from above: Long, himself a stocky and muscular man, demands the students run 2 miles in less than 15 minutes and bench press and squat their weight. They even have to write a report on the documentary "Super Size Me," which chronicles a man who eats only fast food during every meal for a month. Long — whose church's finances have been investigated by Congress — wants the students to keep a sharp fiscal mind, too. They have to calculate interest rates on investments and work a job for at least three months. Of course, these might be considered "excellent values" by some peo -
Ga. pastor's academy had 'sex self-check card'

If the student was over 16, yes. Heck, in my opinion once they hit 13 they are quite capable of saying NO. But it does not excuse HIM from what he did. Anyone who thinks many teens are not capable of thinking for themselves and saying no to anyone trying to take advantage of them, EVEN someone in AUTHORITY, then THAT person is very wrong. Granted, not all teens are capable of it, but many, if not most, are. -
Is that handsome man you've been married to for 21 years on there?

This is quite interesting. I looked up my hubby and myself and found him but not me. His information is pretty accurate. Looked up next door neighbor and found him but not her. Possibly only he voted but I doubt it. Found across the street neighbor but really wonder if he voted but if he did, This is where it gets more interesting. Looked up a friend who lives out of state. NOT THERE. I know for a fact he voted, as he is very interested in politics and we discussed that several times. There was one person with his name but certainly not his address. Then again, that state'

Same here. But it does give you the opportunity to make it private.

Ga. pastor's academy had 'sex self-check card'

I'm the last person to whom anyone has to point out that "kids" can be confused when they are approached by someone in authority who is wanting sexual pleasures from them. Believe me, I'm the LAST person who needs to be told that. However, a 16 or 17 year old is MUCH more capable of saying "hey, wait a minute, this feels wrong" than a 6 or 7 year old is. OTOH, it sounds like OTHER than the sexual abuse, he was trying to teach them excellent values. -

I'm sorry but 16 and 17 year olds are MORE than capable of saying "NO". Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending the pastor in this AT ALL. Child molestation is wrong, wrong, wrong BUT kids the age of these are more than capable of making up their own minds and standing up for themselves. Sounds like in several of the incidents mentioned that if these had been women over 18, or even males over 18, they would have been prostituting themselves. -
Maybe I need to rephrase that. My husband had the electrical shock BEFORE we met. But yes, sparks flew when we met. Married 6 months later. Don't feel bad. I WROTE it and didn't catch it.

Absolutely! I used to work in an orthopaedists office. We saw our share of "pill seekers". The doctors, and the rest of the staff, were quite easily able to spot those kinds of patients. In some ways I under the "pill mills" from the patient's point of view. I'm sure they have a small percentage of patients who ARE chronic pain patients, but the vast majority just want the pills and NO other treatment. I am thankful that the two pain specialists my husband has been to DO provide other treatments.

Chronic pain is a horrible thing to deal with. My husband suffered from chronic pain due to nerve damage from an electrical shock when we met. Through a combination of treatments, he was able to learn to cope with that. Strangely enough *another* electrical shock seemed to have stopped that pain almost entirely. Now, however, he has chronic back pain due to arthritis of the spine and spinal stenosis (narrowing of the spinal canal). He suffered with back pain off and on for 20 years until March of last year when it became constant and chronic. We found out last December he has the stenosi

My hubby's pain specialist has signs up in every exam room, in the hall and at the check out desk reminding patients to keep their meds LOCKED UP. We DO!

Oh, that's funny!

I had another thing happen that I thought was cool. I went to the library to pick up a book I had requested. I walked up to the counter, handed one of the two women working there my library card (didn't give my name when I did). Before she had a chance to scan my card, the other woman said "oh yes, you're (my name), right?" I have absolutely NO clue who SHE was. And it was obvious from the books on the shelf that I was not the only person who had a book on hold. As one of my friends said, my reputation preceeds me.

PM Pubby. I really think it takes about 24 hours for any changes to be made to your account. I've been member plus black for over a year and I can't remember how long it takes but I know it isn't immediate.

me, three. I LOVE to read.

My dog didn't do over $1000 worth of damage but he did chew up legs on a new dining room table. This was in 1978. We bought the table in April or May and got the dog in June. Shortly afterwards, the legs were chewed. Not completely destroyed mind you, but it hurt to see a brand new table damaged. Sadly, the dog died of parvo that October, so he was only with us a few months. We have never had the legs repaired but still have the table.
-
When did you purchase it? Seems like it takes about 24 hours for everything to be effective.

Is it just really, really slow for you, too, Marc?
-
It must have just come back up at 5 p.m. because it wasn't there earlier and it IS now! It may be up and working, but it ain't right yet. Slow as molasses in January.

I went with my hubby to the doctor today. When I sat down in the waiting room, another person looked at me and said "I remember you". Her hubby and my hubby are going to the same doctor. I remembered that she herself was recovering from surgery and asked how she was doing. We sat there and talked until they called my hubby back. As we left the office, she waved. I bet she was surprised that I remembered her from ANOTHER office location of that same doctor and remembered she had just recently had surgery. And if she is reading this,

I have to add that if there was anything at all in the whole world I needed, all I would have to do is say the word and my neighbor (yes, the one who smokes) would be there for me. She's been there since the early 1990s and is closer to us than our own families are. And we would be there for her if and when needed. We love her like (maybe even better than) family.
-
In cold weather they he smokes on the front porch and that's a lot better for us. I keep forgetting she quit in April after probably 40 years.
-
Not sure this is a "minor" thing but my neighbors, whose screened in porch is about even with my bedroom windows, SMOKE out there. A big part of the time, the wind blows the nasty smell over to my house. And the outside part of my heat and a/c unit is on that same side of the house so it pulls in that smelly air.

for AT&T or Yahoo webmail: go to www.yahoo.com click on "sign in" It's about halfway over in the top 1/4 of the page, under the web search bar. "Trending Now" should be right below there. You can also click on "mail" on the left hand side of the page but either one will take you to the SAME sign in screen. You HAVE to include all of your e-mail address when you sign in, such as "abc123@bellsouth.net" or it won't accept it. It even allows you to stay signed in for two weeks UNLESS you use Yahoo Messenger in which case it will generally sign you out of CHAT on webmail. It
