  1. I'm not a celebrity and I hate being disturbed while eating. IMO, the person being rude is the one interrupting ANYONE eating dinner, not the diner.
  2. I didn't know them but one of them, Anne, is good friends with a friend of mine. My sister in law went to Pebblebrook and was in the class of '81, I think. She got married in 1979, graduated in 1981 and divorced in 1982. Her husband also went to Pebblebrook but I can't remember if he was already out when they got married. I don't think so. I think he was a senior, so he would have graduated in '80. He lived near Garner Rd and she lived near Wallace Park, off Pisgah.
  3. You were two years behind me!! B B Williams was the principal. Were you related to Diane Brown the business teacher?
  4. I think the only reason my boyfriend didn't drive at Nash is he failed the driving test the first time. He ended up graduating with me, though. He was at least two years older than most everyone else. He's always given me a great big hug at class reunions and has told me he still cares about me. He was sweet. He should have played football for Wills. He was a BIG guy. I can't say much about 8th grade being tough all three times. I did it twice. Having mono that wouldn't go away was responsible for that, though.
  5. My dad graduated from Smyrna High School in 1929. I actually ran across the invitation a few days ago cleaning out some stuff. Funny you say that but my boyfriend in the 9th grade did drive. Don't think he drove to school but he sure as heck drove to my house, even long, long after we broke up. He lived around the corner from Osborne and really should have gone there.
  6. I knew people who went to Pebblebrook, Campbell, Osborne and South Cobb. The school system really had the attendance zone for Nash screwed up one year.
  7. I'm so old I remember Paul Revere and the Raiders playing the back parking lot of Cobb Center. Yep, this bottle has a lot of aches and pains it didn't use to but the wine helps.
  8. We won two football games in the four years I was there. But gosh, how many state championships in basketball???? Lots, probably 2 or 3. What year were you there?
  9. Geez. I'm so old. Wills, class of '73. Hubby was Pebblebrook, class of '69.
  10. My husband and I are very considerate when we accompany the other to the doctor. We don't look at the scale and if the one going to the doctor doesn't want the other in the room, we stay in the waiting room. That said, it is rare that I don't go in the exam room with him. He always goes with me in the exam room except when I go to the GYN. He won't set foot in there. The last time was when I went for the check up after my hysterectomy. Since that he just gives me a kiss, tells me to have fun and to be careful on the drive.
  11. That's why I said "lived". I thought I remembered she had passed away.
  12. My brother knew him back in the early days of Murph's. I think you're right.
  13. He was still alive a couple of years ago. My husband was a juror on a civil case involving Murph. I can't remember when exactly but I think that was in 2009. Alive and well if I recall.
  14. I have heard that Vickie Sue Robinson, of disco fame, lives (or lived) in Paulding.
  15. You and I more than likely have a mutual friend. He used to go to Murph's a lot when Travis sang there.
  16. "offering" to pay for the repair is a good thing but payment cannot be withheld REGARDLESS. Sorry. Yes, they often do. Depends on what the agreement is, what documentation there might be and who the judge believes. We notified our tenants by certified mail, return receipt requested. We also told them verbally the same thing contained in the letters. I might add that if the tenant withheld payment on the rent due to the non-working utilities, that will make their position weaker. Had they paid and the utilities were not repaired, they would have a much stronge
  17. I saw Travis a couple of times at the Winn Dixie on Brownsville. Spoke to him once. Almost got run over by him once, too. In the parking lot, not the store. My next door neighbor waited on him at Ernie's back years ago. Got his autograph for my daughter who was and still is a big fan of his. She still has the autograph in spite of close to a dozen moves over the years.
  18. It should take the same procedure as evicting a tenant with a lease. The verbal agreement IS a lease, in a sense.
  19. I have NOTHING on the floor except the carpet. Just look on the mantel or the end table or the dresser and you'll see where my ancestors came to visit, too.
  20. I have dyslexic fingers, too. You should see me try to text.
  21. I dislike blanket statements. Not all tobacco users don't exercise. Some do. Some don't. Exercising is no guarantee that you won't get something, just like being a tobacco user isn't a guarantee that you will. I've known health freaks who got cancer. I've known lifelong smokers who never had lung problems or heart problems. It happens.
  22. They did my mom's sewer line back about 10 years ago. She was VERY happy with them!
