I think there are more restaurants selling liquor on Sunday in the city of Dallas than there would be stores selling on Sunday in the county in the area of Dallas. Do stores sell on Sunday in the city limits of Dallas? I know once the Sunday sales in Hiram started, you couldn't get in the Racetrac or Hiram Bottle Shop around 12:30. Douglas County does not allow Sunday sales. The voters there have not been allowed to vote on it.

New Study: Hepatitis B Vaccine Damages The Liver
Mama Carol replied to pcolafl2002's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Interesting reading: http://www.hepb.org/patients/general_information.htm Hepatitis B is the world's most common liver infection. It is caused by the hepatitis B virus (HBV), which attacks and injures the liver. It is transmitted through blood, unprotected sex, shared or re-used needles, and from an infected mother to her newborn baby during delivery. Most infected adults are able to get rid of the hepatitis B virus without any problems. For an "acute" infection, there is generally no treatment other than rest and supportive measures to manage any symptoms. -
Sunday sales in the city would hurt the restaurants. Just sayin'

Child dies after being given hep B Vaccine

True. However, one needs to weigh the odds of a child, or an adult for that matter, actually contracting a disease against the risk of the vaccine. NO medication is without risk. -

To be fair, doctors are only partially to blame if patients are overmedicated or medicated for no reason. Patients are to blame as well. To quote one of my favorite TV shows "Can't sleep, take a pill. Can't wake up, take a pill. Can't get it up, take a pill". People want an easy fix. Don't want to watch your diet? Take a pill to lower your cholesterol and another to lower your blood sugar and then eat whatever the heck you want to. I have a friend doing just that. Takes multiple medications for things that a low fat or low carb diet might not cure but it sure would help. And then -
New Study: Hepatitis B Vaccine Damages The Liver

I turned down the cholesterol and blood sugar reducing drugs after seeing my lab results. Why did my doctor think I needed to be on them for essentially normal results? A slightly elevated cholesterol but even people on medication would love to have the level I do without medication. A completely normal blood sugar but a slightly elevated A1C. NEVER a question about my diet. Had they asked I would have said "well, I had been drinking a beer or two most afternoons". That would have explained my elevated A1C especially in someone with liver damage. I've turned down pain medication beca -

No need in bringing lunch when someone else provides it. BTW, I love your screen name. Could it be short for "Pensacola, FL"? -

Fact: if people stay healthy, they don't need doctors. Fact: doctors put you on medication even in the face of marginal deviations from normal blood test results. Fact: drug companies make BIG bucks on each and every prescription written. Fact: drug company sales reps (we used to refer to them as "detail men") ply doctors and their staff with gifts, food and other incentives to get the doctor to prescribe a certain pill. Doctors don't have the time to read up on all the drugs they prescribe. They generally don't make their own decisions about vaccines that their patients need. The -
Usually bills come before liens. Apparently not always, though.

So the owner could pay MORE tax to the county? Or so he could take a tax deduction on his federal taxes? It does look like a great way to avoid the backup that happens at that intersection.

New Study: Hepatitis B Vaccine Damages The Liver

I'm not going to take something just because the Mayo Clinic says it's safe unless the benefits far outweigh the risks. I happen to love my liver and hope it is with me for many, many years. My next door neighbor's daughter lost her mother in law a couple of years ago due to Tylenol-induced liver failure. I already KNOW I have liver damage and a condition that compounds that. Not saying I don't agree with the vaccinations for HepB. I just have to wonder if the benefits outweigh the risks there, too. -
It just seems a bit late to be sending stuff for something sold in 2010. If he didn't own it on January 1, 2011, he wouldn't owe any other tax on it. NE should have received a bill in 2011 for it AND a bill in late 2010 for that year.

ANY damage to the liver can be fatal and all damage can be a huge problem. It can dictate your ability to take certain drugs, which COULD be life-saving drugs. Have liver damage? You can't take cholesterol reducing drugs. Have liver damage? Forget taking diabetes medications. Have liver damage? Throw out EVERYTHING that contains acetaminophen (Tylenol). Your liver is very important. And what are the odds that a child will get hepatitis B anyway, without taking the vaccine? FWIW, I am all for taking vaccines when appropriate. I happen to love my liver, damaged though it is. -
Is this a bill from the COUNTY or is it a bill from the Georgia Department of Revenue? The DOR is notoriously slow about things. And really sold in 2010 and it's now almost two years later that they are sending you a bill?
-
They sure did a ton of money on that. And a lot of time, too. The thing that really baffles me is the "fire lane".

Not big enough. And there is no parking lot. I thought about a park and ride, too. But then again, NO PARKING LOT! Maybe a bus stop? No, what was I thinking. This is west Cobb we're talking about. We don't get things like buses.

We have wondered the same thing. At first we thought it was a shopping center but there's not enough room. Then we thought it was a realignment of the intersection but that doesn't seem to be right either. I'm with you--it's bugging the crap out of me. Since this is right up the road from where I live, I really wish they had put out signs to tell us what it was.

Reading Mysterious' comment about the families at Scottish Rite reminds me that if I won the lottery I would set up the family room at Cobb Hospital for families who have babies in the NICU. There really is nowhere private for families to rest or change clothes or just have a few minutes to themselves while the nurses are caring for the babies. When my daughter's twins were there, it would have been great if there had been a place to sit down and think without having to go to the lobby. While there was a family room, it was not necessarily private. This is something my daughter and I have

Buy the whole building where we stay at the beach, all 12 units of it. Buy a house in Milton, FL in which we would live. Set up a college fund for my granddaughters. Planning on doing those last two whether or not I win the lottery.

Does Greed Reach Into The Social Security System?

Many voters are ignorant of the issues and the candidates and how our system really works. Maybe schools stopped teaching American Government. Too many people are trusting. Why in the world would you think CITIZENS, voters, the people of the US would even be given the opportunity to vote on this issue? If we had been allowed to vote on all issues that have a direct impact on us, there would be NO Obamacare.
