  1. You're absolutely right. It's not rocket science. They should have been there THAT day with a check to pay for the damages.
  2. At least you'll rid the neighborhood of them. It cost you $525 to do so but I bet they won't show themselves around there again.
  3. Don't they though! P U ! MsGaStorm is right about the grub killer, too. We used some and haven't had any sign of more armadillos. Our neighbors didn't use any and they see holes in their yard all the time. It seems to deter squirrels for a time as well. Maybe the smell from it because squirrels don't eat grubs. We don't have any pets, so we can't attribute the reduction in the squirrels for a short time after we put out the grub killer to a pet.
  4. Mmmmmmmmmmmm. Seven layer burrito. Yum, yum.
  5. Pork shoulder on the Big Green Egg and crispy, seasoned fries. Usually have slaw with pork shoulder but we've kind of maxed out on it. I literally have made it at least once a week since Memorial Day. Some weeks, I made it twice. It was really nice sitting outside on the patio, watching the hummingbirds, butterflies and birds. And OMG! the LOVEBUGS are thick. Ick!
  6. Absolutely, positively Rainwater. We had them do two systems, one for our house and another for our rental. More than fair, always fast. And darn nice people.
  7. We were both home but hubby signed for it.
  8. I know I've signed for his certified mail before and picked up certified mail. I am hoping it's the same for registered mail. I already had plans for the day before I found out about the registered mail. At least our letter carrier knows both of us.
  9. I'm expecting registered mail. I may not be home when the mail is delivered. Can my husband sign for it?
  10. Be very jealous! Only about 3 minutes from my house. Come visit. We'll go. Often.
  11. I took us about 5 1/2 hours to get from Powder Springs to Navarre Beach. 5 hours to get here where we live.
  12. Waving to my neighbors to the east!! I'm 25 miles east of Pensacola. About 35 minutes from Navarre Beach.
  13. Drive to Navarre Beach and take a look at a dome house. Then go to Pensacola Beach and take a look at another. The one Pubby posted looks awewsome!
  14. You very well could find someone licensed in both. If you were closer to Pensacola, you'd have no problem finding contractors licensed in Alabama and Florida. But I'm sure there are some licensed in Florida and Georgia. Heck, most of our clients when I worked there in Dallas had houses or condos all up and down the Gulf Coast, from Biloxi to Steinhatchee. Can't wait for October! That is the best month of all here. I know what you mean about those biting flies. We went to one of the local rivers last year while they were out there. Good heavens!! We had to go about a block from
  15. Intelligent people have their winter place in Florida and their summer place in north Georgia or like one of our neighbors, Alaska. Summer is NOT the time you want to be in the panhandle unless you're sitting IN the pool. And no, I'm not intelligent. My only place is in the panhandle.
  16. I'm not sure but won't they need to be licensed in Florida? Florida is very strict about contractors. And permitting.
  17. Are you talking about Dr. Goolsby? If not, I can definitely recommend him.
  18. They should tell you at the hearing when you can expect the decision. We really didn't expect Douglas County to make the decision that day, and apparently neither did they. But they did and then sent a letter to follow up on it. With Cobb, they did it quicker than they said they would but we got the idea that they were going to rule in our favor during the hearing. I wonder if they did make the decision right after we left the hearing. But at any rate, it shouldn't take long. Never been to one in Paulding County as we never owned property there. Just a business that we owned and I work
  19. It depends. Usually it is later. We went to one in Douglas County and they decided that day but even they said that was unusual. We went to one in Cobb and they said they would make a decision in the next 3-5 days and notify us. They actually mailed their decision letter the next day.
  20. The SOS website would have that for the last couple of elections. You could probably request it for past years as well.
  21. http://sos.ga.gov/index.php/Elections/voter_turn_out_by_demographics http://sos.ga.gov/index.php/Elections/voter_turn_out_by_demographics These are probably statewide races. Paulding.gov has election results for 2013 and 2014 but they do have the number of registered voters, the ballots cast and the turnout percentage for those elections.
  22. What about the Secretary of State website? Don't they have that information?
