She was living where her voter registration was!!!!!!!! Not where her driver's license said. She had moved out for a couple of months, renewed her driver's license where she was living (just down the road in Mableton) but didn't change her voter status. Between the time she got the drivers license renewed and the time the election came up, she had moved back home but had not yet gotten her driver's license changed. Neither precinct knew where she was supposed to vote because of the discrepancy in her voting precinct and her drivers license. She ended up not being able to vote. Actually, I

FWIW, my maternal grandmother purchased property in 1914. That was six years before she was allowed, as a woman, to vote. Voter fraud starts with the candidates themselves.
-
My daughter wasn't allowed to vote in 2000 because she had moved and not updated her voter registration even though she HAD updated her driver's license. So, your point?

Like I said, neither party wants to really eliminate voter fraud because they are afraid it will cost them elections. Instead, they pass or discuss things that won't help but it will make the unwitting public THINK they are getting something done. I'm fed up with both major parties. And the Libertarians aren't any better. And exactly HOW is requiring a photo ID card suppressing voting? These people seem to manage to get applications for WIC, food stamps, welfare. Don't tell me they don't have to have some kind of ID in order to get those things? And please, don't tell me that be

There is ABSOLUTELY nothing funny about being stalked.

Photo ID cards in order to vote would cut down on voter fraud and likely eliminate it 100%. Use that instead of some piece of paper that gives your precinct and vote ANYWHERE there is a polling place. You only get one vote though. Or here's an idea, issue "debit" cards for voting. You scan the card and cast your vote. One card, one vote. There ARE ways to do this. Democrats (and Republicans) just don't want to come up with a plan to do away with voter fraud. They are both afraid it would cost them an election.

When you factor in your commuting expenses would you really be making less to work in Paulding? My now-former next door neighbor drove to Buckhead to work every day. I kept telling her she should find a job closer to Powder Springs even if it meant a little less money because it would end up being even. She finally did get a job in Powder Springs. A five minute commute. Initially, the pay was pretty much the same, maybe a little less, but as she has stayed in the job, her pay has gone up so now she's making a LOT more than she would have if she had stayed in the job she hated that had

Some of the things I remember best about Pcom are the friendships I have made through here and the friendships I have renewed through here. I've gotten help with things at work and in my personal life. Through connections I originally made on Pcom, I was able to start my own business and then later help a friend get a job. I sold my car to a Pcommer and my husband sold machinery to a Pcommer. I also had some good times in the office with Pubby and LPPT. They are two really nice people and two of my favorite people. I've met some of the most wonderful people through Pcom. Like

Don't make the mistake the "buyer" did for my house and get things set up (including utilities and changing his car insurance) only to have the deal fall through. A lot easier to wait until the closing takes place than have to do things twice, or three times.

I couldn't get an interview with anyone in Cobb paying what I was making in Paulding. Most of the jobs were paying half of that.

Hiram arrests three individuals on Animal Cruelty Charges
Mama Carol replied to gpatt0n's topic in Paulding County NEWS
Two of the arrests came at WALMART? -
Whew!!!!!!!!! I'd love to have you for a relative!
-
I beg to differ. I was making better money in Paulding than any of the places I applied in Cobb were paying.

I sincerely hope she is afforded the same protection as he is. Stalkers may not always stop at mailing their victims things. And dealing with mentally ill people is something that can cause even the most sane person to question their sanity. Stalkers are generally mentally ill and they see NOTHING wrong with what they are doing and therefore, won't stop. While I hope this man receives fair treatment (and not one red cent from Cobb County), I hope he receives TREATMENT. WOW!! I just read the 'first amendment" attorney's comment that the victim finds the perp "distasteful". WTH???

Yeah, then it looks like snow. But I don't mind that. We thought about buying outside of town, where it would take about 10 to 15 minutes to get to the nearest store (a Dollar General at that). Decided we were too old to be that far from the necessities of life. We're right in town, 2 minutes maybe to Winn Dixie, 3 minutes to post office, 5 minutes to county courthouse, 35 minutes to beach. Five and a half hours to Atlanta. That last one is a little too close.

I had a boss who asked me as a personal favor to put up with someone with whom I did not like working. I also had a co-worker ask me to put up with a boss I couldn't stand. I did the former but not the latter.

We're in the panhandle and it has been very mild and wet this year. Everyone says not to get accustomed to it because this is not the usual pattern. Lots of cotton, peanuts and soybeans north of us between here and Brewton. Millet isn't common but there is some in places. In a few months, the fields, which can be hundreds of acres on each side of the highway, will be beautiful white and ready for harvest. I already told my husband I want to go up to Brewton sometime around late September or early October, just so I can see the cotton before harvest. It is beautiful!

That was about the same way with me though it may have been closer to 95% job satisfaction and 5% money. I did have one of the most incredible employers in the entire world and dealt with some of the finest people in Paulding and Polk Counties. Fixed it for you!

Having had an online stalker, I can say from experience that there is no rhyme or reason to why people stalk others. My uneducated guess about this particular guy is he put too much stock into the "your friend" salutation written in his yearbook. I hope his victim has been awarded all the protections she is entitled to.

Require photo ID to get an absentee ballot as well. Problem solved. Or have only in-person ballots that count. Or have verification of absentee ballots (perhaps a follow up phone call to make sure that was you who asked for the ballot). But if they would stop letting every Tom, Dick and Harry get on the van to go vote it would be solved, too. So would allowing online voting, using a PIN that only YOU know. Or Democrats could just suck it up and stop whining about anyone wanting to make the elections a little more honest and actually work to come up with a doable law. Again

A great boss can make up for a lousy co-worker or four. But like someone said, the best time to look for a job is when you already have one. You can afford to be picky.

Fannin County? Cue the banjos. My mom was from Fannin County. We're probably related, as the gene pool was the size of a wading pool back then. I said back in 1974 when I heard that Carter was thinking of running for President in 1976 that if he won I was moving to Mexico. Sadly, I didn't. Love kept me here in the states. And then the SOB moved to Texas! With his wife.

I would say come on down but seems like you're opposed to alligators. I might have seen two, maybe three, alligators this year but so far I have yet to see a snake. Missed seeing the bear by about an hour.

530 actual cases of voter fraud? Absolutely need to do something to make sure it doesn't happen again. Require photo ID. Problem solved.

Haven't been to Dothan in years but I did like that area. Wow, are there that many Pcommers left in Paulding now? Seems there is a great exodus to Florida and Alabama these days.
