There's a child care center on the campus of the local high school. It's open to not just student's children but others as well. But it is ON campus, near the football field and band room.

Personally, I find no difference in an unwed teen pregnancy and a wed teen pregnancy. The mom is still a teen either way.

I knew a girl in high school who had an aboortzion the previous summer but never knew one who had a baby. I did know one or two who had babies within a year of graduating, though. That was in 1973. When my cousin, quite a bit older than me, got pregnant, she had to quit school. That was in 1955 though. When my youngest was in high school, several of her friends were pregnant. The year she started high school, one of her former classmates showed pictures of her baby on the first day of school. She started high school in 1996. My oldest sister had my nephew when she was 15. My

I wouldn't hurt my sweetie. Well, most of the time.

Trust me, I won't be far from the truck. Two, three steps at the most. I'm NOT an outdoors person. I don't camp, I don't fish, I don't hunt. I take pictures if I feel comfortable with where I am. And I won't be alone.

Hey, if it helps keep them away, I'll sing to them. In fact, that SHOULD keep them away. I sure as heck ain't going looking for 'em.

Governors Gun Club. We have a LOT of black bears in the county. One was hit by a car down near the beach (Gulf Breeze to be exact) about a month ago and another was captured on the mainland from Navarre Beach about two weeks ago. They tend to be in the southern part of the county more than they do the northern and central part (we're central Santa Rosa County).

Yep, got the packet of information the last time we were at the tax office. That is some kind of application! Santa Rosa Sheriff's Office has a safety course and the next opening is November. We both plan on signing up so we can get our permits here. We have two, maybe three, firing ranges within about 5 miles and don't see any reason why we can't go on occasion. We can't ride around wildlife management areas and go fishing ALL the time. A couple of things we carry with us in the truck: fishing supplies, swimsuits, towels, sunscreen, a camera and water. I pinched my hand r

I assure you, if I were to see a bear and I was NOT in the truck, I'd be running as fast as my legs could carry me. And away from the bear. I'm not an outdoors person. We were out riding around today and had to ford a creek in the truck and I almost had a panic attack. I like looking at things out there in the wilderness but from the safety of a strong vehicle. With the windows up and the engine on. Mostly I want something that I can shoot a snake if necessary. I likely won't be off the dirt road BUT I could be a few feet off the road. I have to say, we have been to some p

I checked the hunting regs and down here they are pretty much OK with anything as long as it's not during a "non-season". You can even use birds of prey to hunt here. BUT I won't be hunting. IF I go out in the woods the only thing I'll be hunting is things to take pictures of. I would only want the pistol in case something came up to bother ME. When we had land out in Douglas County, we always carried because there were snakes and coyotes out there.

Have met Mrs Surepip, I have no problem imagining her shooting a coyote or two or being comfortable with a pistol or revolver in her hand. I have a friend in TN who is having problems getting .22 ammo. Not sure exactly what he is using it but I know he has a Ruger Target pistol. That might be what he uses it in. I just recall him saying he was having problems getting it. I'll do it. Compiling a list of firearms to take a look at.

I have a little limitation in strength but the biggest problem is arthritis and motion.

We have some new friends down here and I think ANYTHING I want to try they probably have. I'd love to have a crack at that one! Sweet!

Now THERE'S my pistol! Ding! Ding! Ding!!! We have a winner folks. Love that! At least if I can't hit anyone with it, they wouldn't likely steal it from me. Yeah, I just want to be able to shoot something if I'm out there and it attacks me. I don't plan on going really, as my idea of roughing it is a condo without maid service, but just in case I want to be able to defend myself against venomous snakes. Big discussion down here on the difference between venomous and poisonous. The discussion reminded me so much of Pcom. At any rate, it if's alive and a rattler, I want to be

Hmmm. Didn't know that. Will have to check that out. I know down here they carry all kinds of weapons. I'll run by the tax office and pick up a hunting regulation brochure. Thanks.

sweet looking pistol! I have from now until November, when the next course is available, to get something so now I have some ideas of what to look for. Thanks all!!

Yes, in Florida a firearms safety class is required to get the permit. I have a Georgia permit, which didn't require a class, but we have since moved. I don't plan on carrying the firearm for safety. We live in a very safe town, in a very safe county and it's unnecessary. The only time I *MIGHT* carry it is when we go out in the woods and then only to protect myself from snakes, bears and boars, all of which are very plentiful in this area.

I plan to sign up for a firearms safety course but need a firearm. It's been several decades since I fired one and during those years, the strength in my hand has decreased tremendously. I'd like something that would be fairly easy to shoot and would be relatively lightweight but yet not have too much recoil. I'd like a pistol and not a revolver, too. Any suggestions? I've considered a Ruger SR9C and comparable firearms. Brand isn't really important but ease of use is. I likely won't carry it very often either so weight won't be an important issue either. I just want

Definitely remember Flowers for Algernon. I think that was from 8th or 9th grade. About two years ago I read To Kill A Mockingbird for the first time in close to 40 years. I actually started on a binge of reading the reading list for my high school or books a friend of mine recommended. Boy howdy, did he come up with some good books, too!! Took me a month to read one of them and I read every evening for at least an hour. That book was HUGE! It was a fictionalized account of Mary Magdalene. I think one book I remember the best was A Farewell to Arms.

That's what we did. It helped more than you can imagine! We also had to install a dry well because of the red clay. We really didn't have anywhere to put additional drainline and that was our only other choice. It worked great, though. When we pumped out the tank this past February, it was because a root from a shrub had gotten into the line and we didn't realize that was the cause. The tank was actually in good shape and didn't need pumping. We didn't know that, though. It had been pumped in 1999 and again in 2013. It's been pumped 3 times in 37 years.

Makes me glad we had our septic tank pumped out in February.

You bet I'm proud of you!! And what awesome news about the prices of the prescriptions. Stop telling yourself you were selfish in going to the doctor. You WERE NOT SELFISH IN DOING IT. Got that???? You have to take care of yourself because nobody else will.
