  1. Playing football was one of the best things I ever did for my health even now (nearly 40 years later). The physical conditioning, the leftovers from weight training have helped. It is not an absolute safe sport, but then hardly any of them are. I always thought football was more safe than baseball. Tough decision I'm sure.
  2. One of the best. Thought you guys might enjoy this story. My link
  3. I would agree, except for that little detail where allegedly David told him he would do something about it. I still think David Austin is a breath of fresh air over his predecessor. And Tony Crow would have to really impress me with something to change my mind.
  4. One of my favorite restaurants is in Roswell. Adeles's. Corner of Old Roswell Rd and Holcomb Bridge.
  5. There is also an Unlce Julio's at Peachtree Dunwoody and Hammnond Drive.
  6. Two mules fighting over a turnip in my opinion. I'm still undecided and the third person could get my vote fairly easily.
  7. Great idea. I think everyone should do this.
  8. I would love to be, but probably not. I was actually a sub-sub on the project. The sub I was subbing from went out of business nationwide.
  9. I sure hope Swamp People isn't being preempted for that. Kidding, thanks for the heads up, I'll try to check it out. BTW, I wasn't saying the Demos were the problem. I was saying that these particular Demos were part of the problem. Some of them should be at least behind bars. A good hanging would go a long way to prevent this kind of BS from happening in the future, but I guess that's just too barbaric.
  10. Wait until Romney is elected and they are going to be bitching about the numbers being manipulated to fit the Republican agenda. And Pubby will have a three page diatribe with 40 links "proving" that things are being twisted.
  11. He had no idea the American public would allow idiots like Maxine Waters, Gregory Meeks, Lacey Clay, Barney Frank and Franklin Raines to bankrupt the country through Fannie Mae. To quote Maxine: Maxine Waters: Through nearly a dozen hearings, we were frankly trying to fix something that wasn’t broke. Mr. Chairman, we do not have a crisis at Freddie Mac, and particularly at Fannie Mae, under the outstanding leadership of Franklin Raines. [Raines would barely avoid prosecution for fraud.] Oh yeah, it's all Reagan's fault.
  12. Must be comfort food. We have some friends in Houston and that's all they talked about. We went out and visited and I didn't quite get it. But they also talked about some breakfast pastry that was pretty good. Kolaches maybe? ETA: Let me re-phrase. For a fast food burger they were good, actually better than any fast food burger here. I think I was expecting too much.
  13. My company was one of the sub-contractors on that building. I sold the job and managed the project. Funny side story. I was standing out on the site and struck up a conversation with a plumber. We were watching one of SANY's pieces of heavy equipment (I think a track hoe) being unloaded. He was telling me if SANY made it they required the grading contractor to use their equipment. I asked if SANY furnished it or did the grading contractor have to buy the equipment for one job. He replied "Hell it's made in China, be lucky if it last for one job."
  14. It must be to position themselves to buy out all the American heavy equipment manufacturers.
  15. I'm not much on spending a lot of money for a meal, although I have had to go to some of the more expensive places in Atlanta for one reason or another. None of them were anything to write home about. One of my favorite places was The Thirsty Whale in Bar Harbor. We split the Blackened fish and chips for lunch nearly every day we were there. My link
  16. B&S had better start putting those POS engines on rice paddy plows. I hope they never sell another one in the U.S. What is weird is that SANY, a huge Chinese owned heavy equipment manufacturer, recently moved its American Headquarters to Peachtree City. My link
  17. We are on the third meal of leftovers from Sunday's slow smoked Beef Brisket, fried cabbage, butter peas and cornbread. This is the best brisket I have ever had.
  18. Somehow it just doesn't bother me to be called a clean-freak. And even though my immune system can wipe out most bacteria before they wipe me out, I still don't want to dip my food onto my plate with a spoon that has everything from fecal matter to the flu virus crawling on it. And no matter what anyone's opinion is of serve yourself type eateries, a person that eats from the bowls with their bare hands is nasty and dumb. And the world is full of nasty, dumb people that I refuse to eat after.
  19. So basically what you are saying is the Consumer Confidence Index doesn't tell us a damn thing. Or let's just say it tells us what we want to hear depending on the day and the agenda.
  20. Nope, not lying. Saw it with my own eyes. Close to the corner of Peachtree and Lenox. The Chinese aren't going to share their cat. That's a delicacy.
  21. I had a bathroom floor that was leaking over the kitchen of a well to do restaurant in Buckhead. The toilet would run over and leak through an expansion joint straight into the soup cauldron.
  22. Just another reason to have a post office box.
  23. It was just the package effect. Overweight, oxygen lines, not so kempt lady, not only handling the food, but stuffing it in her mouth and reaching back getting more. That's gross I don't care who you are. And you are right about using oxygen to treat obesity, but I am pretty sure chocolate sprinkles aren't being used to treat it either.
  24. You are 100% correct about the Jimmy Carter comment. I still haven't decided which one sucks the most, Carter or the Historical One.
