  1. only to the paulding libraries..... If you go to the other libraries in the same system (such as douglasville, lithia springs,or villa rica) they are open wednesdays, and sometimes longer hours on fridays & saturdays. FYI - the douglasville branch is very large and has more on books on CD and DVD movies than any of the paulding libraries (kids, cartoons, educational, PG & R rated too).
  2. i have always gotten higher prices by selling my books and DVD movies on half.com (it is an ebay company, but it is not an auction --- you set the price for your dvd) you can also sell used dvd movies, etc at amazon ship them media mail with tracking, so you are covered from the scammers, but do not use the hiram p.o. (ironically, when i started using the dallas post office, i did not have any more "missing" items)
  3. FYI, they are not called season passes anymore -- they are good for exactly 12 months now (and they cost more)
  4. When we lived in the area, we used to go to marker 32 restaurant for great seafood, but that was 10+ years ago. It is called The New Marker 32 now, so i do not know if it is any good anymore.
  5. Since you are talking about Gabapentin, I have an ot question. Anyone else develop itchy hands and feet? My dang palm look like they have the measles. Doc said it was a side effect and there was not much she could do other than change me to much more expensive medicine that may eliminate the side effect, have it's own side effects, or not change at all.....
  6. I know I don't do well if I miss a dose... Doc says I will be on it, I guess, for the rest of my life. I pay out of pocket for it with no insurance. I was told when I first began I would be able to wean my self off, but, as they say, "How did that work out for ya?" Hopefully you will be fortunate.
  7. you can appeal it several times, and once you reach the admin judge, they sometimes will grant it.
  8. Besides discovering that libraries have a ton of books, but also dvds, My girl's are in seventh heaven....That is until, they but in those scratched and well-used dvds. I am a strong advocate for using toothpaste on those movies. It works great!! The problem is our toothpaste can be expensive. I need to invest in the cheap stuff just for the movies. Anyway, my husband returns the "cleaned" movies to the library for the next kiddo and I expect them not to be bothered by movies that won't start/skip/stop repeatedly.
  9. Well, I hardly ever spank my children....although when one of them thought it would be fun to run around my car in a parking lot full of cars...she got spanked then and there and never did it again. It is not illegal to spank your children as long as it's only on the butt and not to the point of leaving significant marks such as whelps or bad bruising. The fear of dfac's and jail has damaged our society. We are so afraid of being punished ourselves by society that some will allow their children to act inappropriately, or even dangerously. . It's scary the world we live in n
  10. There are 2 sides to most businesses -- a boss can be a jerk to his subordinates, but put on a nice smile for the paying customer. If they are not nice to the money coming in, then they will not be in business long. In most all cases, you, the employee are replaceable by someone that is willing to work for less money. There are several online sites where employees vent about what really goes on behind the scenes and how employers treat their employees. "glassdoor.com" ---- i have been burned by a couple of companies that, during the interviews, said they were a "family environment" and have
  11. I personally know of at least 5 businesses where, imo, were run by people who were less than stellar. Racism, sexual harassment, horrible treatment of either customers or employees or both. I know of only one business that is no longer in business. They are still in business because of secrets, money, loyalty by either customers and/or employees, good service to someone and in some instances, the good ole' boy system. They have to be doing something right or they still wouldn't be here. Look at Walmart and their child-labor fiasco along with keeping employees w/o insurance (but still taki
  12. from personal experience....... if you have a nosy neighbor, they can call the marshal's office and they will write you a citation if you do not have a building permit and it is bigger than 10'x10'. It will cost hundreds before they are done with you. and yes, we were rebuilding an existing pole barn
  13. if it was truly for the public good, then it would be an annual safety inspection like the northern states do --- with checks to the windshield, tires, headlights, horn, etc
  14. A little bit of texas political history from 1962 --- It involves vice president lyndon b johnson, some federal agriculture fraud, and the death of a farmer that was ruled suicide even though he shot himself 5 times with a bolt-action .22 rifle....... The death of Henry Marshall : http://www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk/JFKmarshallH.htm
  15. wasn't that "the night the lights went out in georgia" ?
  16. that was what i was wondering --- if it is the kind that hang on a chain or a dog collar type, then walmart has one of those machines at the front of the store that does custom engraving and different shape tags, etc
  17. I'm on FB, they said a transformer blew up, but what that means, I am not sure. I did hear power was out on Mt. Tabor, but no prob on Bobo. A friend's kid saw the flash and called his mom. No other details
  18. Complain to QT corporate via their web site and it will be taken care of. They usually will send out vouchers for free food, but i guess you would have to like their hot dogs, etc
  19. If I see a funeral procession on a two lane road if it's a multi-lane road, I get out of their way if necessary. If it's considered old-fashioned or out-dated, so be it. I still respect my elders, say thank you, give my seat up to the older person on the bus, and I even still say ma'am and sir to folks older and younger. It's sad to see that those things are considered by many as out-dated, etc. I guess I will pull over as long as I have a license.
  20. Goodness, you just validated the guys point with how you reacted. If I felt concerned for my daughter's safety, I would have promptly notified the store manager and probably would have filed a report with the police so they could be on the look out for them so it wouldn't happen to someone else's daughter. You said in your original post that "Men are getting desperate and sicker and sicker". Yes, there are creeps everywhere which is the reason I instantly lock my doors as soon as I get in my car in a parking lot and try to always be aware of my surroundings. I teach my kids that too.
  21. I'm with the bubble wrap folks. Never ever had a problem there anyone accosting me, asking for drugs, or leering at my kids, nor have they voiced concerns of potential pervs. I have seen rude folks, fighting and a few kids running around parentless. I even saw a toddler escaping the seatbelt while mom was looking at canned goods. She was fine with me standing beside her child just in case and thanked me. Guess she could have thought the worst of me.
  22. I figured because it is fuel injected and has a fuel pump inside the gas tank, it should have a inertia reset switch, but you are correct. I could not find one on the wiring diagram, it only has a fuse and a fuel pump relay.
  23. The points are moot anyway, the junk vehicle law says they must have a license plate on it, not just titled --- and you can't get a plate without valid insurance at least, and if the cars are not antiques, then that means they have to pass emissions too (unless diesel).

Keep in mind, any "accessory structure" (not attached to the house) must have a permit if it is bigger than 10x10, whether it is built on site or purchased and delivered. Meaning a 10x10 would not need a permit, but a 10x12 or larger would require a basic permit for approx $150, so figure that extra cost if you want to get one a couple of feet larger. If it has lights or plumbing, etc, then additional permits will be needed.
