  1. Happened on friday the 20th, unless there was another one that flipped that same day, this was the young lady that wrecked early in the morning on bakers bridge road, 1100 block.
  2. It is not against the law in georgia unless the genitals are exposed. Even then it has to be in a "lewd" manner. That is to protect life models, photography and art. The public indecency laws are similar like that for most states in this country. and 20-30 years ago, some of these recent magazine covers like maxim, glamour and GQ would have been considered pornography
  3. It is not clear whether you want to buy and install it yourself or want to hire someone to do it. Big difference on price and recommendations.
  4. the snopes version is true, the baggy pants "cool" look came first, then when the criminals were booked into the local jail, they took their belts away from them. The "sagging" look was in the holding cells and thus became a badge of "honor" that moved to the city streets as a kind of street cred to say you've been in jail. It all started in los angeles county and city jails. It does not translate into the prison system because they are issued uniforms that fit. The local jails let those arrested keep their street clothes until they bonded out.

Mystery solved... One of the workers came by. They are working on the sidewalk in front of Caroline's florist shop. Will be wrapping up each day by 4. Closing the road at 9ish. Work will continue through next week. At least we know.

Wow, I'm sorry that happened. I doubt that my traffic back-up is related though....

No, this is a detour they set up this morning. If you are coming from the Sheriff's office towards Dallas, it is backed up. You have to turn onto Legion Road (where the Greystone. First Choice bank is) Looks like they are doing something at the triangle where the road splits offs off. Not sure though.

Does anyone know why traffic from 381 is being detoured onto Legion Road? It's definitely an area to avoid right now. Hoping they will be done by 5. I had heard rumors of a possible traffic light, but nothing confirmed and I can't see the triangle from here. Thanks in advance for any info.
  9. come back via orlando I-4/I-95 corridor and visit daytona beach & st. augustine
  10. Unfortunately, it is a reality that each person is capable of any of these acts. It can be blamed on genetics, environmental factors, traumatic events, mental illness, passion, peer pressure, and even current events. The list goes on. Of course, some just say it was the family that raised you which is usually untrue. Their have been adopted children raised in a great family setting, but still easily chose to commit murder or some form of violence. I have always just blamed it on people being wired differently. It scares me knowing what any person is capable of. What moral fiber is it
  11. Ok, thank you. We were both curious. I can see being held accountable if the summons was ignored, but not if the summons was never received. Especially, if there were provable special or extenuating circumstances. The only thing I could find online were for folks who ignored it being given up to 3-day sentences and fines. One Georgia article said they were cracking down on people who ignored their civil duty. I've still never received on. Again, thank you for your answers. I will let her know.
  12. A friend of my divorced and a jury summons was sent to her ex. She only now received the notice that she was to serve the next week. Anyone know what would have happened, had she never received the notice? Just curious. TIA
  13. I have gotten some great deals there on closeout shoes and boots. Their regular prices seem to be a little lower than most others too. per the CNN story, "Zappos said that hackers gained access to customers' names, e-mail addresses, billing and shipping addresses, phone numbers, and the last four digits of credit card numbers and encrypted passwords. Full credit card numbers and other payment info were stored on a separate server which was not hacked, the company said." link: http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2012/01/16/zappos-com-hacked-24-million-customers-affected/
  14. You are correct, if there was not a robust market for stolen items, then there would be alot less burglaries and robberies. In the old day, crooks had to go to a "fence" to unload merchandise, nowadays there are other options such as listing the stuff online.
  15. it was taken in 1945, black & white, an 80kb .jpg file that is 720x523 pixels, has alot of white lines across it like from folding or bending. Are we talking about alot of money to clean it up?
  16. I'll have to wait to get home to send it (need help sending pictures). It's a black and white from the 1940's. It has a few white lines on it, but the faces look great.
  17. Can you have a picture copied from the internet restored? I found a beautiful, very old, family picture with lots of wear that I would like to have restored. Not sure if I can get my hands on the actual picture. I really would like to own this picture. Just found it and haven't checked with actual professionals yet. You guys can usually come up with good info, so I am trying here first. Is it even worth it.

  19. 4-year college degrees are the new "high-school diplomas" When the cost went down or free via hope and pell, the "supply" of people with degrees went up so far that the college degree has been diluted.
  20. Don't know the legality of riding there or who owns it (the city, state, or federal), but it is popular with the off-road crowd. The best way to find it is to google map or GPS to Welch avenue, Talladega AL -- it dead ends onto the old armory property, it is about 3000 acres total. people still ride the power lines, especially the ones that cross I-20 and bankhead between d'ville and villa rica, but it is still illegal to do.
  21. i called a dentist in marietta 2 years ago and the root canal rate was $750 flat rate, i think it was called The Root Canal Place? all they do is root canals, etc
  22. eym_sirius, from the post #1, your web link and numbers are from 1997 and 2000? A couple of things happened since then. 9/11, as well as the explosion of illegal immigration. The prison population and religions do not currently "mirror society in general". Both Muslim and Catholic inmate numbers have grown considerably.
