  1. Right, that is what I am talking about, was it just a one time thing or everyday.
  2. Don't believe everything you read unless you can verify the source. Also consider the source, her ex husband during a messy divorce. Her ex is no saint. I try not to make judgement based on something I have no first hand knowledge of and I get from a gossip magazine.
  3. Does anyone know if the unlimited rides is offered everyday at the North Georgia Fair? Their website does not say anything about it. I bought the discount ride tickets at Walgreens but when we got there on Wed they had a offer of 18.95 for unlimited rides. I am going back on Friday to see Colt Ford but my kid also wants to go back to ride the rides again. Be nice if the unlimited ride offer is for everyday.
  4. Guess he was absent when the class on how to nod and smile was taught.
  5. And? Obese kids is not the fault of obese parents. It's the fault of parents of all sizes. Maybe we do need to shame them, obviously coddling them is not working.
  6. It was a great show, I was a little surprised when she ended it with a Cheap Trick song. Going back on Friday to see Colt Ford.
  7. The government knows what is best for you and you are not capable of making rational decisions.
  8. Why have they been locked out? Lingerie football is starting to look pretty good. Not that it ever looked bad.
  9. I said I agreed with you, can't we just leave it at that? You should be happy. I am not assuming anything. A lot of people getting the tax credit know full well what they are doing and have got it all figured out. The small number is those who actually try to improve their lot in life but if I can get free money and not have to work very hard to do it why would I have any incentive to improve my life and no longer get free money. It is a necessary evil.
  10. I am agreeing with you on this one. It does work to a point. The point where the person gets the job to get tax credits but does not try to go any further because if they did they would lose the tax credits. So it does get them off welfare and semi productive in society, but not much motivation to do much else.
  11. I see where you are going with this and I understand the reasoning behind it and part of my brain agrees with it in principle. But it is still a handout and a form of welfare. You can call it what ever you want does not chance the fact it is a alternative to welfare but still falls under the same context.
  12. What?? The government has an interest in curbing excess use of some products????? What products and who determines what is excessive?
  13. Even if you put lipstick on a pig it is still a pig. How is giving someone money that does not belong to them not welfare? Isn't money from the government welfare? Essentially that is what they are getting. And where does the government get its money? from the people who pay taxes. So the government is helping these people steal someone eles money and it is totally legal. Not to mention it give people who take advantage of those tax credits no real motivation to improve their life so they do not need the tax credits. Why would I want to improve my life and live off my own means
  14. BUT, the poorest is going to buy a shirt from TJMax for $10 while someone making $200,000 income would more then likely buy a $100 shirt somewhere else. So for the most part I think it will even out. Yes there is going to be people making $200,000 buying a $10 shirt but it would be in lower numbers then the $100 shirt.
  15. Maybe you should read about the FairTax before you start asking questions. If you do not have to file a income tax return what would you do with a mortgage deduction that is used to deduct taxable income for a income tax return??? FairTax would eliminate ALL deductions. Based on the simple fact that you do not need deductions because you do not file a income tax return which is the only reason you have deductions in the first place. April 15 would be just another day.
  16. Ummm absolutely nothing, there would be no reason to write off your mortgage interest because you would not have to file income tax returns every year. You would be paying the tax when you purchase items that are taxable. Matter of fact you would lose all deductions because there would no longer be a need for them.
  17. You might want to read that again. I never said they would lose any tax deductions. If your tax liability is reduce to zero because of your deductions you should not be able to go beyond zero. Meaning you get a refund of someone else money. If I paid $4000 in taxes and I can use deductions to get all of my $4000 back I should not able to keep taking deductions and get back $5000. Because I never paid the extra $1000. That money belongs to someone else. How is that a tax hike? In normal circumstances if I took a $1000 from someone else who did not willingly give it to me it woul
  18. I do not follow football so I will not even pretend I know anything about the whole referee lock out. But I am sure it is the usual they want more money and job security but I digress. Apparently the referees contact is up and they are trying to get a renewal right? Why doesn't the NFL just fire the union and hire the referees and make them a part of the NFL and not an independent union? Then they work directly for the NFL and this sort of thing never happens again. Just my 2 cents from standing on the outside looking in.
