It is a short hike from the parking area down to the falls, as someone else posted. However, I suggest wearing tennis shoes. I made the mistake of wearing sandals. There was one steep part where I slipped (there was lots of mud due to the rain) My entire backside from neck to ankles was covered in mud. I got the car filthy driving home. I love walking through that little cemetary there too. Such interesting headstones and so much history. There are lots of family plots and I was amazed at how many children in certain families had died at around the same time. I guess back then if one chil

You definitely aren't the only one! We all have them! Since everyone else is sharing their dumb mommy moments, here's mine. When my son was about 9 mos old I set the deep fryer up on the kitchen counter to make french fries. There was no plug for it up on the counter...it was near the floor so I plugged it in there. The oil was boiling hot and I rounded the corner of the kitchen to see the baby reaching his chubby hand out for the cord. He was about 2 seconds away from pulling the whole thing over on top of him. I yanked him up so fast I know I scared him to death. After that I immediate

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CC! Don't forget to salute Father Time! (with whatever finger you choose!) -
I would love that marinade recipe if you want to share! I've used the same steak marinade for years (Zesty Italian dressing, Terriyaki, garlic, brown sugar, S & P) and, while it is great, I think I need to branch out.

We have electric now but before we moved here we had gas. Gas just burns soooo dirty. It left a yellowish film all over the stove, hood vent, cupboards, counters etc. I'd never want to have gas again. We have the ceramic top stove now and its a breeze to clean. (even if something boils over) We, too, grill out just about every night....even if it's winter and there's a blizzard!

Chicken n Rice, broccoli, ice cream sammies for dessert. DH made the chicken and rice. The rice was super gummy/sticky from all the water boiling away. And there was like ZERO seasoning. I had to add a bunch of salt, pepper and jalapenos just to give it some flavor.

Wow...those are all my favorite things! (I could live on pizza alone for the rest of my life!) The only things I dont like are: Cilantro Feta Cheese Peeps (the marshmallow-y type ducks/bunnies they sell every Easter) Thin Mints (Girl Scout cookies) I ate a whole box in about an hour as a kid. Puke up!

Ours was $138 last month and this month it's $216. And we keep it on 78 degrees. We, too, have to figure out what the heck we're doing wrong.

http://www.copykat.com/2009/02/06/red-lobster-cheddar-bay-biscuits/ They have a lot of restaurant recipes there. I've tried many of them and they're all great.

I love those Cheddar Bay Biscuits at Red Lobster!! I found a recipe online for them (from one of those CopyCat sites) and they come out tasting exactly the same. YUM! (although not very healthy/figure friendly...I will give ya that.)

We had BBQ Chicken sandwiches (with a leftover Rotisserie Chicken that I got at Kroger yesterday) with some Baked beans and Corn on the cob. (those were leftovers too) But at least the fridge is all cleaned out now.

Best wishes to you. Difficult to be sure. But always some comfort in the fact that there's one less child to take care of.

A 16 year old sails around the world ALONE?

I am so happy she was found safe today. Despite her background and experience, I found this highly disturbing as well. -
Hope you have a blast! For breakfast options, you can't beat Boma's. (Animal Kingdom Lodge) They have the best buffet ever...their quinoa is the best!! (Oh, and their coffee...yum yum!)

We're having grilled marinated steak, grilled onions, steak fries, corn on the cob, sliced tomatoes and cukes and ice cream for dessert.

I havn't been there recently. The last time we went was 11 yrs ago when my son was 6. We had a lot of fun though. A friend of mine told me about the place and said that they sold food there to feed the animals but "you can take your own if you want to!" So I took all kinds of stuff like graham crackers, carrots, apples, etc. (the exact same stuff they sell there to feed the animals) When we got there and I was paying to get in, I saw a sign that said something to the effect of "You cannot bring in your own food to feed the animals". I saw the sign just about the same time that the lady who t

We had an Asian-inspired marinated Pork Tenderloin that we put on the grill. (marinade was soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, sesame oil, onion, garlic, sherry, ginger, pepper & rice wine vinegar) Also, Green Giant Valley Fresh Steamers (the Asian medley one with Broccoli, red peppers and water chestnuts in an oragne sauce), garlic bread sticks, Alfredo noodles and Mexicorn. Oh, and Carrot cake w/ cream cheese frosting for dessert. Yum-O!

When my son my small we had a hard time with the potty training. I took him to Walmart one day and let him pick out some big boy undies and he chose Barney. (he loved Barney!) When we got home from buying them, he wanted to open the pkg immediately but I said, "Oh...well I think we will have to put these up for a little while until you're ready. Barney told me he really doesnt like to be wet and dirty! So we will wait until you want to go potty on the big boy potty". He quickly said, I WANT TO GO ON THE BIG BOY POTTY! So we let him wear his new drawers and he would always let us know when he

I will preface this by saying I can't really answer your question....but my wipers stopped working a few months ago too. We called the auto parts store and they said it was probably the motor and if that was the case, it would be $276.00. (and it's a Chevy, not a Lexus or something) Anyway, dh went to the junkyard and got one and it was $35. He didnt get the motor, he just got the arm thing. (whatever thats called) He couldn't believe how easy it was to fix it...maybe 5 mins tops. Anyway, your question was how to "test a wiper" and no, I dont have a clue. But if you find someone else to te

Leftover chicken and cheese enchiladas w/ Spanish rice. But I didnt want that so I had a baked potato with cheddar cheese, shredded BBQ pork, bacon, Sonny's BBQ sauce and sour cream since I havn't been able to think of anything else for 2 days now. It was heaven! I only had 1/2 of it..but now I want the other half and Im not even hungry.

Have you ever tried the one they have at Smoky Bones? We ate there the other day and thats what I had. It had green onions, bacon, cheese sauce, BBQ pork and I forget what all else but wow...it was sooo darn good!
