So, they should keep unprofitable stores open and not try to make their company successful? Really???

Here's a quote from an ABC News article (http://abcnews.go.com/Business/wireStory/gap-closing-stores-us-14733260?page=2): Gap is doing what they have to do to continuing growing and now people want to boycott them? The fact that the American market is slow for them and they are finding other markets to succeed in should be applauded - they are doing what they need to do to stay in business (just think what will happen if they keep sinking money into stores that aren't profitable - the company will eventually tank). If and when the economy recovers, you can bet your bottom dollar tha

Take the wine!!! Seriously, even though she can afford to buy something more expensive, it doesn't mean that she won't appreciate it because it's from you.

Wait, they're closing stores, not leaving the U.S. With so many people doing their shopping online, it makes sense that this would impact actual store growth. And, in this economy, things are slow, they're protecting themselves. I love ordering from Gap - I get a lot of stuff for the princess there and it is good quality merchandise that lasts. The one time I had to return something (because it was too big), the retail store did the exchange in-store without a single issue. I'm still going to shop at Gap, Banana Republic and Old Navy - I'm glad to see that brand growing and strengtheni

I would say get him a netbook or a reconditioned laptop. You can get a reconditioned laptop a lot cheaper than a newer one and it will more than likely be faster than a netbook. Also, look at an iPod touch, my nephew loves his.

HMR has worked really well for a guy that I work with - he's lost well over 100 lbs on the program. He chose it because he needs a structured diet that tells him exactly what he can and cannot have and then he meets with a dietician once a week (either in class or individually) to go over what he has done. I've looked at the program and tried some of the products and if you're ready to make the commitment, it looks very doable. I will tell you that I have yet to see a diet that doesn't keep you within 1200-1400 calories a day and encourages exercise. All of them have different ways

The only thing this woman wants to see cool whip on is on a mocha frappucino from Starbucks..... Now get back to work so you can buy your gal something pretty!!

I had the Ameda Purely Yours and loved it (especially for bringing it to work with me). But, unless they've dropped the price, you won't get a new one for less than $100.

I love getting Nixle texts most of the time, but it just seems like someone jumped the gun on this one.
-
Yes, but let's face it, I'm a woman - I looked at the top 10 or so and lost interest when I didn't see money....
-
I got a Nixle text about that - is it really necessary for the SO to send out a text saying "Isolated Severe Storms are possible over North Georgia today due to approaching cold front." They're possible? That doesn't merit a Nixle alert IMO.

You left off rich. I deleted the part about how to make a man happy because, well, who cares about that??? ETA: Nevermind, I see that someone put rich at No. 48. 48, really? A man must have come up with the order of this list...

The airlines are doing somethign about it, they are making the people who take up two seats, pay for two seats. Now, keep in mind that I've flown with some really big guys who can squeeze into bulk head seats with fixed armrests - this isn't going to affect someone who is 20 lbs overweight, but it will likely affect someone who is 100+ lbs overweight. P.S. It is my fault that I'm fat - I can't blame the airlines and neither can anyone else, they have some of the nastiest food I've ever tasted so they didn't contribute to my weight at all...

Congratulations!!!

I've already admitted to my fatness so I'm not going to "sugar coat" things. I come from a large (actually XXXL family). But, I don't know that I can say that I'm "genetically predisposed" to obesity because I think our income level and the choices of our parents had a lot more to do with our poor eating habits when we were younger (my grandparents were not obese, although some of my uncles and cousins are). So, I tend to think that just because your parents are overweight doesn't necessarily make you "genetically predisposed" to it. I'm all about personal accountability, so here is my i

I'm the one that posted that I'm a big girl, but I never said that it wasn't my fault. And, I'm not worried about your comfort on a plane, I'm concerned about mine - I don't want some bony, skinny chick's elbow stuffed into my fluff!! (and I'm totally kidding on that last sentence, just in case anyone can't figure it out).
-
He has visions of me looking like Cindy Crawford..... and I'm okay with that!!!
-
As I have openly admitted before, I'm a big girl. I'm glad the airlines are stepping up and putting some policies in place. I don't have a problem with this policy - if my backside takes up more than one seat, I should have to pay for the additional seat, but I want it to be practiced across-the-board, not selectively or based on one person's discretion.

Over the weekend, I saw some really big collage photo frames at Kirkland's - I like the idea about doing family photos and you could hang the collage up so she could show off the pictures to any visitors.

I posted this in the other thread, but this is the Admin note that now appears at the top of the post:

Where did you find these? The Occupy Wall Street website has something different. http://occupywallst.org/article/September_Revolution/

I disagree - Babies R Us is NOT "way too expensive." When the princess was in diapers, their prices were better than Wal-Mart, and they continually have discount offers and send out coupons. A couple of times a year, they have a huge diaper sale (the last sale was $5 a box for Huggies and other brands) and I still buy wipes from them at their Black Friday sale - $5 for a 6-pack of baby wipes (a bargain). I highly recommend that you register with BRU, if for no other reason than to get on their email and mailing list so you can see the savings. If the item is on your registry, you c

It's sad - that wasn't democracy - they say and do exactly what they are told to do or the guy starts screaming "mike check" and everyone starts repeating it. I've always thought that democracy happens when EVERY voice is heard, regardless of whether or not they agree with you.

Wow, I'm embarassed for those people. Ignorance and stupidity (yes, I'm calling them stupid) at it's best.
