Mini-Me had hers out when she was two. I was a nervous wreck, but she was perfectly fine afterward - hilarious when she woke up from sedation, even. She went from having strep repeatedly to not once in the four years since the surgery.

Thanks! I checked into Cobb at 9:10 and he was born at 2:10 - quick this time, although not easy. Mini-Me took over 24 hours. He was 7lbs 12oz., 19 3/4 in. long. We came home yesterday afternoon.

My mom was 35...I thought she was going to kill me despite the fact that I was already married and 19.

I had a very serious moment

Mine's big for a 6.5 year old, but I can still manage to pick her up...39 weeks pregnant and all. I asked my doctor if I could still lift her and he said 'Don't lift anything you're not used to'. Easy enough. I pick her up and carry her to bed every night. I'm pretty sure I'll have a breakdown when I can't do it anymore. I'm already having issues with the realization that, as awesome as a baby is going to be, she won't be my baby anymore. -
Seriously? Mini-me has been out once this semester (two Thursdays ago with a 102 fever) and I got a letter the following Monday.

Mini-Me is 'most likely' ADHD. At home, she doesn't have many issues because we've (for the most part) figured out how to work around them. For her, it's not a behavior problem so much as it is now a learning problem. She's incredibly smart, but she can't keep her focus for long at all. At home, I can tell her to go do something in the next room and she'll get distracted five times before ever making it there. It's not defiance - when I say her name and give her my mama look her eyes get all big and sad and she says 'Sorry...I forgot again'. I swear this child reminds me of Dory from Findin

She wasn't quite as puffy this morning, but still said she doesn't feel good. She's used her whopping three absences for the year (I could have sworn it was three per semester...but I got a nice note last week that it's three for the year ), so I sent her off to school. They can call me to come get her if she still doesn't feel good in a couple of hours. She wakes up every morning and the first thing she does is go check the bassinet. 'What's taking so long?!'

Kiddo's been coughing for a few days and woke up in coughing fits several times last night. No fever, just says she doesn't feel good. Tonight, she comes out of her bedroom looking like the walking dead.- underneath her eyes and her nose are bright red. My first thought was sinus infection, but she can breathe clearly and says her sinuses don't hurt, but her eyes hurt. She put ice packs on them and they feel better now. This one's new on me. Something goin' around?

Awww. It's not their fault we screwed them over. Pandas are, by far, my favorite animals.

Thanks! She's definitely excited. She keeps trying to sneak his whole bassinet into her room. Congrats! My first was a girl, and she's awesome. I feel prettier when I'm pregnant. Fatter, but prettier. Atleast, I do this time around. With Dd, I just felt 84lbs fatter and very miserable. I just want to be able to get up and do something for longer than 20 minutes without losing my energy! Oh, I believe you 100%. I had pitocin with Dd (she was weeks late by that point), and I had horrid contractions. Thanks! I can't wait to get the rest.

My parents just had a blanket 'if you're on wheels, you wear a helmet' rule. I think it was to prevent us from arguing or breaking the rules when we were on our motorcycles or four-wheelers in situations where things could get ugly (like...while racing at the track? lol). I'm glad they did, though. I took a nasty spill on a motorcycle and didn't have on a full-faced helmet - it took for.ever to fully recover. I cringe to think at what would have happened if I didn't have one on at all.
-
I rode four-wheelers. Not even in Paulding - this was almost East Cobb. Just hopped on the four-wheeler to get to the back of the neighborhood. Wore a helmet, though.

That's exactly how I started.

Last night, I picked up the fixin's for my favorite salad. ALL day, I've been looking forward to this salad. Just went to make it, and I'm out of the dressing that goes with it.

I had an epi with my first through the contractions, but it wore off by the time I got to 'the hard part'. Little bit of 'advice' that everyone kept telling me and I didn't realize was true until it was all over: When you get to where you're begging for drugs, a c-section, or anything they can possible give you to get the baby out and are feeling defeated...you're almost there. Seriously. And almost every woman I've talked to has said the same thing. For me, it was 'Will you just cut her out already?!?' and bam! - three more pushes and she was there.

I told my midwives/doctors that I want access to birthing chairs, balls, showers, etc. this time instead of being stuck in a bed. The midwife I see most often told me she didn't care if I delivered med-free while walking down the hallway, she was just there to make sure everything turns out okay. So love my practice. I'm going epi-free this time. When I had to go to L&D last week, the nurse looked me right in the face and said 'You realize you don't get a plaque on the wall or a discount, right? No cheer parties?'. Thanks, lady. I just want the ability to move around an

I'm having him at Cobb. That burning/stabbing/screaming pain is normal. Feel free to hate me for telling you that, I hate my doctor for the same reason. lol. I've had it since 20 something weeks and now have bronchitis, so I know exactly how you feel. Basically, the way she is sitting (and will continue to sit) is stretching out the skin and muscles under your bra-area. Mine is more on the left side, but he's also sitting more on the right, so it pulls the left more. I've learned that hot compresses, lotion, and hot baths all do wonders - temporary, but helpful.

I don't know if I just have crazy babies or if I'm just super fragile, but both this one and my six year old broke my ribs while I was pregnant. Mini-Me didn't break them until a week or so before she was born (and she was overdue). Not only did I feel it when it happened, but the person sitting next to me heard the last one break. It popped. I thought (hoped) it was my water.

I think the holidays helped. Between the holidays, moving, and classes starting back...20-34 flew by. Now, I feel like I'm at a standstill. I feel like I've been 35 weeks for a month, instead of 4 days. Of course, the broken ribs, pulled muscles, and pain didn't hit until 32 weeks or so...so that's probably not helping any.

He has a place to sleep, diapers for his tush...what else does he really need and what on earth is he waiting for? I'm done. Spent. Ready to wave the white flag. I've gone into early labor multiple times now and they gave me the 'all-clear' after 34 weeks and said they wouldn't stop it again. Then they decided he's still too small, and they'll stop it until next Thursday. Come on, next Thursday!!! Crazy kid keeps kicking the ribs he's broken. Mama is miserable. On a good note: Mini-Me is an excited, super-happy camper. We had these done yesterday by a photographer friend of mi

One area that always has trash is the stretch of 278 between Old Harris Rd and Butler Industrial (between the bowling alley and Tractor Supply), and then Butler Industrial up to Ingles normally has trash on it. After living in both sets of apartments in the center of these areas, I've figured out why: the trash compactors are in the front of the complex. ALOT of people put their trash in bags on their trunk to drop off on the way out...and then forget about it. I've watched dozens of cars turn onto 278 or Butler Industrial will two or three trash bags on their trunk/hood, which then bus

I had no idea it was supposed to snow until I my mom kicked me out of her place at 8 tonight, stating that she refuses to be snowed in with me again.

Yep! Vinegar works. Not only that, it's super cheap.

I miss Leave it to Beaver. The re-runs came on Nick at Night when I was a kid.

I woke up this morning with my right knee screaming in pain, too. Normally, that means either a temperature drop or bad weather. /sigh/ I'd prefer neither.
