So sorry to hear about Ken, prayers to the entire family, Cindy C. (was he sick or was it an accident?)

Can they or have they given him the white blood cell builder shot called "Neulasta"? We give this to our adult patients all the time with low WBC counts, doesn't hurt to ask.

Man who inspired local recovery ministry dead at 41
wanie replied to gpatt0n's topic in May they rest in Peace
I have a special place in my heart for recovering addicts. Very. Special. Place. Sounds like you know someone in recovery. Please let them know to come to our Wednesday evening groups, they are so informative and healing. The F.A.I.T.H group holds their Saturday night gathering once a month, we have only had 3 so far, but we are hoping to have them every Saturday night as the group grows. We have had about 50 people come so far but would like more. So if you know ANYONE that is looking for a group that will make them feel welcome please have them p.m. me and I will give you informa -
Man who inspired local recovery ministry dead at 41
wanie replied to gpatt0n's topic in May they rest in Peace
I had the honor of meeting Chris on two-three different occasions. Our church hosted an informational seminar on addiction (open to anyone) and he came as a guest speaker telling his miraculous story. Ann and George have started a recovery group that meets on Wednesday evenings at 5:30 pm at Dallas First Methodist Church (chrisitian based recovery, all invited) and this lead to a group gathering on Saturday night, once a month, called F.A.I.T.H (families and individulas in therapeutic healing) where everyone gathers and eats, then plays games and socialize. Chris and his wife came to the -
ENOUGH! Does anyone know how the victims of the accident are doing? That is what is important, not how stupid people are, we already know this established fact! LOL

Intersting, Chlora Hydrate renders a person unconscious enabling someone to feed her full of Nembutal, rendering her unable to save herself. She dies. And no one investigated these findings? Sound fishy to me. Oh, and have you ever wondered why the Kennedy's have such "bad" luck (all the accidental deaths etc), it is the curse she put on them after death to avenge her death. Just sayin.

Obamacare exemptions for congress and their aides?
wanie replied to AdamnAarens Mom's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Here is just the tip of the iceberg of NObama Care. Medicare is just the beginning: Patients who have Medicare and have been getting chemotherapy at the doctor's office of their choice are now having to get it elsewhere. Oh their doctor can see them(private office/infusion center) but to get their chemo drugs they have to go to an out patient center because the private office does not get enough remibursement from Medicare to even cover the cost of the drug for the office. So, the office loses money if they treat them. I predict that in the near future, all private offices wi -
I used to work with the Dillions father. Knew him from birth. He is an awesome kid and has awesome parents. I wonder if some of dad's ER nursing rubbed off on him. The boy needs to be a doctor! Way to go Wayne, Dillion is a great kid.

Dear Gary, I am so sorry about your mothers passing. Didn't find out in time to come to the funeral home. May God speed His love and healing to you and your family. Cindy Covington

What does this have to do with religion, what I read was in the constitution. Did I miss something?

Major George Weldon Williams, Retired
wanie replied to Funeral Director's topic in May they rest in Peace
George was not only a nice gentleman! he had a beautiful singing voice. I will miss hearing him sing from behind me in church. I have known him and his family for as long as I have been alive and there are/were some of the nicest people I have had the pleasure of knowing. You will be missed George, enjoy your reunion with Twila. -
Well, we are the customers and if we want something done, we need to band together and everyone call and cancel their service. When asked why, tell them we are tired of paying for services we do not use. If enough people do this, they may rethink their stance and start a new trend, pay for the channels we want. So what if we don't get to see a few shows, our life will not end, just will have to catch up on our favorite shows, there are always re-runs and the good series come out on DVD after a while. So we get behind on the shows, there are other ways to catch up. Just saying.

Can we have your address, if they come to my house they will get shot at, when they leave I can tell them where you live and they can get anything they want without having to worrry about getting shot!

This is not from a business member, only a devoted citizen to the county of Paulding. I will also post the donation tier when it is finalized. I do hope people will donate that are able to, Kennestone and Paulding hospitals were built through donations from the citizens of thier Counties. I feel we have a responsibility to do the same. The hospital does not control the regulations on payment etc, they are just trying to provide a place where the people of the county can get quaility healthcare and keep the money in our county instead of it going to other counties.

From what I heard on the news, the shooter was a small intelligent kid that was being constantly bullied by the "football" player he shot. Not saying this is the course of action for someone who is being bullied should take, but these kids being bullied are getting tired of it and starting to take action. The solution, everyone love and respect each other and we can all get along fine.

Thank you for getting this topic back on track. I posted the contact person in my OP, he has all the information as to the different donation levels and what they are for. I am a little disappointed in some of the comments people have made about this topic. And Feelip, I think it was a retired doctor of the county and his wife that made the first donation.

Only if you choose to buy stock, I think the word "donation" answers your question quite nicely

always critized the old hospital, I challenge you to (and everyone else) to step up to the plate. The old hospital was built with monies the citizens of Paulding County donated. The new hospital will need funds from the citizens. Only one couple in the county has donated funds so far and I am afraid it is because no one is aware of the need. So, please, if you are interested in donating and helping make your new hospital one of the best in the nation, please call Gene Weeks (Director of Major Gifts & Campaigns WellStar Foundation 2000 South Park Place, Suite 202 Atlanta, GA 30339

Do Alcoholics Benefit From Medications For Withdrawal Symptoms?
wanie replied to ButterflyLion's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Antibuse does not help with the withdrawl symptoms, it only makes a person sick if they were to drink while on antibuse. There are many factors when considering outpatient withdrawl from alcohol. How much does the person drink a day, for how many years? There can be serious side effects if the person stops abruptly and has been drinking for years. Check into Ann Pennebakers addiction classes she is starting. -
Sorry, I should have added: when asked for a photo ID, we would be told, I don't drive so I don't have any ID. When asked how did you get here? always, I walked or had someone drop me off. There was always an excuse. I am also referring to ER's only (sorry about that). You can not refuse to treat someone just because you can not verify their medicaid.
-
We already have a system in place, it is called Medicaid. The government has screwed the pooch on that already. People us other peoples medicaid to get treatment, no ID, no problem, no way to prove that you are not the owner of the medicaid "card". Picutre ID's on the card would help, but no, that would be too easy. So are we still going to pay for the Meidcaid recipients and the new healthcare coverage for all. We are being nickle and dimed to death! I work in healthcare and have seen the abuse of medicaid and frankly, I am tired of it. People with full time jobs come to the ER and giv

I am so sorry that your sister chose this route. Addiction is a disease. No one choses to have the disease. I am sure she did not go out and intend on getting addicted, but whatever pain (emotional) she was trying to numb with the drugs got the best of her. I just wish someone (courts or whoever) could have done an intervention and got her the help it seems she needed. There is such a negative "stigma" attached to drug addiction and in today's medical advancement, they do know that it is chemical imblance when it comes to dealing with life's stressors. She may not have had the emotional

To the "girl" that drives a green SUV in the mornings around 6:30 on Bullard to Barrett Parkway: STOP putting on your make-up while you are driving!!! I have watched you go over the middle line only to "jerk" back into your lane. I have been behind and in front of you and cringe every time I see you are near. Yours (most importantly) someone elses life is NOT worth you getting up too late to apply your make-up in the car. FOR THE SAKE OF EVERYONE, PLEASE APPLY MAKE-UP BEFORE LEAVING HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!(or at least do it at a red-light).
