  1. One solution would be to use OpenDNS on the router. This would allow content filtering to block bad sites. You can read more here: http://www.opendns.com By the way, it is free.
  2. Try resetting it: Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.) Press and hold the Play/Pause and Menu buttons simultaneously until the Apple/iPod logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds.
  3. Something to think about as you use the services of Google and Facebook. More here.
  4. Quote from story: Per the dad's comment, he asked Verizon to block data, which they obviously did not. (Data and text messages are two separate services). If he can prove that he asked for it to be blocked, he is off the hook. I have data blocked on both of my kid's phones but they have unlimited text messaging.
  5. I would die if this happened to me. More here.
  6. No more than 5 over the limit. If he tailgates, I slow way down to put a safe stopping distance between us and allow him to pass. Tailgating by anyone is very dangerous and really irritates me.
  7. This is just ridiculous. It's almost like the Motion Picture Association thinks everyone is out to steal from them. More here.
  8. 1. A student has to be 18 in Georgia to quit school without a parent's permission. 2. The School is responsible for not letting the kid leave the school. That is why there is a formal sign-out procedure in which an authorized person must present identification before a student is released into the custody of that person.
  9. 1. You cannot quit without the parent's permission. 2. A student cannot just leave school anytime during the day that they want as the school is responsible for them. This means they are in custody.
  10. An interesting tidbit of history: Verizon Turned Apple iPhone Down
  11. Verizon has the better network and the Droid is a strong competitor for the iPhone. It will be interesting to see if ATT feels enough pressure to come up with a plan B.
  12. I have never read the fine print of the contract, but I think everyone should be okay until their contract expires.
  13. What was the outcome? The charges should not have stuck per the law referenced above.
  14. My guess is they will go to a tiered plan based on the amount of data you consume.
  15. The law addresses "supervisory or disciplinary authority" situations. It does not state that you can't have sex with any 16 year old, only that you can't have sex with someone that is in your custody in an official capacity.
  16. So ATT markets the iPhone data plan as unlimited data and then gets upset because people took them at their word. More here.
