  1. The school mentioned is Douglass High School, which is part of the Atlanta Public School System, not Douglas County High in Douglasville. For anyone that wants to go - just wanted to make sure you go to the correct school.
  2. iHi (which would describe the engineers working on the project) or iFi.
  3. Wow! That looks like something out of Star Trek.
  4. Sounds like you are a good candidate to have hi-fi implanted in your head.
  5. A real cutie with a head full of hair.
  6. That took me by surprise as well. I think the death of Renee and the fact that Dana was an excellent liar and could never be trusted, pushed him to kill her. If things would have turned out different at the bank, I'm not sure that he would have killed her. I wondered about that as well. We must have missed something or they made a bad edit that eliminated Jack picking it up somewhere.
  7. I read somewhere that there are no advantages to buying a more expensive HDMI cable unless the length will be greater than 12 - 15 feet. Most people do not need a cable longer than that. As for speakers, better speakers definitely make a difference. I have a small LCD TV mounted on the wall above my computer monitor. It has a great picture, but the speakers are awful. I hooked up a cheap set of $20 computer speakers and it made a huge difference.
  8. There is an interesting debate about whether or not high priced speaker cables really make a difference in the quality of sound. IMO, for those that have "golden ears" I think there may be a minor distinguishable difference. For people like me ( I spent 17 years working on jets - many times standing next to the engine at takeoff power), I do not think there is a noticeable difference. The article below is something to consider before you buy cables. It mentions that cables can cost anywhere between $10 and $20,000. 9. .....and the wicked witch is dead!
  10. Starting to watch it now. You've got me curious - I'll check back when it is over.
  11. Recorded it. Will watch asap.
  12. Very cool Matt. I always love to see technology used to inform and teach others about topics that have not traditionally been tied to technology.
  13. Wow - what a powerful message and reminder to us all. Hats off to this teacher and to the third grade class.
  14. Good point Subby. We all would agree that they would have made a better decision if they would have educated themselves about computer technology. This is not really an easy thing to do since technology is always changing and computer specifications are gibberish to most people. Some people just simply choose by price assuming that a higher priced item is better than a lower priced item. After all, a Cadillac cost many times more than an Aveo for a reason. Even to those somewhat familiar with computers can find it difficult to determine a fair price. Anyone want to play "The Price is
  15. It's not about the math. It's more like selling a diamond to someone for $3000 when every other retailer sells it for $1000. They misrepresented the value of the purchase and the couple trusted the company's assessment of the value because they had no knowledge of the real value.
  16. Nope. They were middle aged. It was a pleasure helping you. I know you are excited about the new computer. If you want, give me a call when you get it and I can walk you through a few things you need to do immediately after hooking it up.
  17. I helped a client set up a new computer this weekend. This was their first home computer and they were very excited to finally have one. Come to find out, they had used a company that required weekly payments for one year and then the computer was sent to them. The total of the payments was around $1700. After learning this, I could barely contain the sorrow that I felt for this couple. Looking at the computer, I instantly knew that there was no way it should cost anywhere near $1700. I discretely wrote down the specifications and service tag number for the equipment and priced it out on the D
  18. ....and furthermore how do they know who is operating the drone? I'm not telling!
  19. If I'm reading this right, it looks like we just need to make sure the pilots are military and not CIA.
  20. He should have enough by now to make a mayberry pie for all of us. But he deserves every one of them!
  21. I have never tried it. The only drawback that I see is that you have to leave your computer on whenever you want to make and receive calls. They do offer a 30 day no risk trial, but you will need to provide a credit card number.
  22. There are several other posts on this one - try doing a search. There does not seem to be a consensus if I remember correctly - some like it - some don't.
  23. Here is a link to site that may have found useful in selecting an antenna: http://www.antennaweb.org
  24. Excellent reminder! The actual procedure is a walk in the park. The day before - not so much. This is something that is really easy to do and it can save your life!
