  1. Chicken could have brought this up ten years ago on pcom. They could have brought it up any time since. They could have posted their photos and other information. This is the first post on this from them that I recall. I'm certainly not omniscient. As I would not recommend they provide their information publicly (in the post here) t would encourage them to communicate with me via PM. pubby
  2. I was just watching the weather channel and they were talking about the millions of pieces of space debris which is falling to earth. I mention that because the distortion you've just made in relation to Chicken's post is the equivalent to you saying I said the sky is falling and I must be chicken little. My statement regarding the animal waste deposited was an estimate of the measure of the fecal matter than is in the Pumpkinvine Creek where it meets the Etowah river that came from that one isolated dump and the natural runoff from all wildlife, pets, and farm animals over the entire
  3. I'll get with my wife and we'll be in touch. Thanks for posting. pubby
  4. What it has to do with is the choice of some folks to throttle speech. So while the government is constitutionally prohibited to interfere with the speech rights of others, other are also prohibited from taking in overt action to silence someone who seeks to speak. I.e. they can't put a bag over their head, beat them on the head, or kick them to stop them from speaking as that invasion of personal space would be an assault. What they can do is tease, ridicule and the like ... except when they are subject to moderation in that activity when on this site. When the same bunch of people c
  5. DVbP: I don't know if the crew is after you ... or after me. Regardless, the vast majority of the posts are off topic. pubby
  6. I read the article and the only thing I can say is that it sounds like progress has been made since the days cited in the article when Jerry Shearin, with Roger Legett at his side, glanced askance at the environmental protection laws that let the city and county get away with these violations. The following is from that article: It has been a problem and from what I gather from the story you cite, the GOP-dominated General Assembly is up to no good again, seeking to pass laws to further eroding the protections neighbors and society have from development and encroachment of our riv
  7. Stradial: The Franco-Elueteri plan was a marketing plan. It existed and was specific to the Paulding airport. Why Blake Swafford didn't point to it, I have no idea. Maybe he didn't respect you enough to give you a straight answer. As far as your lie detector challenge, I offered to negotiate the terms of the test. Why would I ndeed to negotiate ? Because I wouldn't trust you to not ask questions like "Do you still beat your wife ? Yes or No" Whitey: In regard the source of money for the various law suits and political organizing, I can only presume you folks want us all
  8. Blake, who is an engineer, must have forgotten about the Franco Eleuteri plan, huh? The reason for the 139 application, if you understand it, is that it can provide 'security' for the airport and its environs, including enhanced fire protection as well as other types of security, with funding coming from the FAA's trust fund for airports. This is like a tax-break in that it lowers the cost of security for those companies that might be interested in locating at the airport. And all we'd have to do is serve 10,000 airline passengers a year to obtain this $1 million annual expendit
  9. Oh really ... Actions speak louder than words and Harry Truman is the guy who ordered the military to racially integrate in 1948. He was also the man who made the decision to recognize Israel on May 14, 1948, the day they claimed independence. In contrast, consider the audio recordings of Dick Nixon regarding Jews. pubby
  10. Marvin: I think I recognized your lack of specificity when I questioned the notion the reason for your objection ... which you didn't specify. Why, because he is a socialist, unabashed in his acceptance of the label? Consider that I didn't accuse you of a thing but rather went with the more common objection, which I still questioned in your case. Note that I didn't presume your objection was based on his religion or age or that he has classed himself as an Independent. So, why would you say that we would be in trouble if Senator Sanders were elected? pubby
  11. GD: You've stated - correct me if I'm wrong - that you appreciated Harry Truman. What did "Give 'em Hell" Harry have to say about Republicans? Considering the role of Antonin Scalia in making the last line possible, I think this quote is appropriate and not nearly as crass as your description of New Deal Democrats ... like Harry S. Truman. pubby
  12. Why, because he is a socialist, unabashed in his acceptance of the label? From what I've gotten from you guys for the last seven years no one could be any more socialist than Obama ... and things are a lot better now than in the waning days of 2008 before his election. Heck, in your eyes both Bill and Hillary are socialists along with everyone who sports a circle D. Funny thing about labels ... you pass them around thinking they are toxic and performance - in this case of Obama - proves they aren't the prescription for disaster you claimed. (Fact is, Sanders is nothing more than a New Dea
  13. Whitey: People are going to confuse your post with one of mine ... based solely on length As far as to why the city was going to treat the sewerage from the airport; that's simple ... They have the closest treatment facility. You know about intergovernmental agreements ... kind of like what is the Cobb-Marietta water authority doing distributing water to Paulding county???? Dumb question. Same with the city of Dallas running the line. (Believe it or not, government decisions aren't as dumb as you think they are.) I do see you've been doing your homework on this issue ... or
  14. What you're pointing to with this DVBP, is the first theory that seems to make sense to me as to the reasons for the consternation and frustrations you feel you've experienced. While the blog entry you cite proposes a theory of what goes on, the plain fact is that it will take more than just complaints to rectify the claimed injustice. The first step would be to enlist a social research university to document cases and prove the case. This step might need to be done two or three times in different parts of the country by different sets of researchers. The payoff for these folks wou
  15. But I do care, Whitey. I was outraged when I first heard about the crap going into the stream and wrote about it. No one else cared. It appears to me those making an issue of it now care only because it aids their political agenda. Hell, when I was running for the post position, I was suggesting that the county needs to look at addressing the failure of private septic systems by developing programs for the extension of sewerage lines to impacted subdivisions; many of which have been known for twenty-years. People didn't care about that, either and I sure haven't heard you or others
  16. I find the statements surrounding Justice Scalia's surprising exit from the scene generally inappropriate, particularly Sen. Mitch McConnell's. With out a doubt Justice Scalia, whether you were a fan or not, was an important figure in our nation and deserves more respect at the time of his passing. As far as the issue of his replacement on the SCOTUS, I can imagine Scalia's attitude being that If the original intent of the framers to deny the president the right to make an appointment, they'd have written it into the constitution. He'd have probably considered the timing of his d
  17. This is an opinion that is not backed by court decisions. It is also short-sighted and makes no practical sense. As far as other ill informed opinions, I consider the source and forget it. pubby
  18. And another good example of why his posts cannot be taken seriously. He might not care if it was in his back yard if he was "compensated". If you were just a man of your word. pubby
  19. I think I've said before that I don't condone what the city of Dallas did. I live in the county and don't vote in city elections. I think it is unfair to say that I don't care. I do know that it was a city council decision and their purpose was to promote economic development. I also know that running sewerage to the airport for economic development really wouldn't make any difference in whether the airport is developed as a commercial or general aviation airport. Since Tundra, Todd, Tony and Vernon are all on the record supporting economic development at the airport and only seek t
  20. Whitey: I know you know that the county and the city have had, over the years and despite the alleged closeness of the Austin brothers, a love hate relationship. When I first came here, Dallas had the only sewerage system in the entire county. The city sought to maintain its 'monopoly' - you know kind of Atlanta and Delta and the airports - and fought Johnny Helms on the matter tooth and nail. Anyway, the reason Dallas got the grant instead of the county is because the cost of carrying the sewerage from the airport to any existing county sewer treatment plant would be prohibitive w
  21. Whitey: The shouldn't be ashamed at all because what you want them to do would be illegal as all get out. You know enough about grants and the rules regarding them to know that you can't take grant money provided by the Feds - (The Dept. of Commerce if memory serves) to build a sewerage line to the airport and then divert the money to another project, no matter how deserving. Which means your statement is nothing but political spin. pubby
  22. Rocky's mom: There is no active criminal investigation regarding the airport deal and there has never been. I'm sure some folks both locally and from the city have 'lobbied' for it as getting and leaking the existence of such a happening would be the gold standard when it comes to political spin. What they've done is tie their political spin to the largely protected suppositions that sound like allegations that were proffered in speculation by their plaintiff's attorneys in their court appearances and letters. By using big words and clever langunge, it provides enough basis for wild a
  23. Here is something from the Rockwell Institute - a real estate training outfit in Washington state, that says this kind of fraud is on the rise. pubby
  24. Sure Propeller is from NYC. They were invited in by Blake after they were turned away from Gwinnett (largely due to the machinations of the same folks from Atlanta). But this jealousy stuff ... what you smok'n Willis? pubby
