  1. I figured you were smart enough to avoid that one, but if the offer was a free "I hate Hillary 'cause she'll take my guns" t-shirt; you might not see that one coming for two reasons. The first is that Sir John Booker pitch is aimed at your greed while the 'Hate Hillary' or 'I love guns, they make me feel virile' is a wholly different kind of appeal. That both approaches lead to the sender seeking their hands in your pocket is the danger. Nigerian prince pitches and other anonymous pitches appealing to greed are so common that the number of folks responding is getting progressively lower
  2. That is disturbing particularly when to effect a stop one has to have an reasonable articulable suspicion to make the stop. Driving while black doesn't count and this surely looks like a DWB case to me. I mean, gut feeling or what ever that cop felt doesn't count. I mean, anything. We had a report of a car that fits this description that was involved in a drive by shooting; I observed you when you entered the car you appeared to have a something long and tubular in your pants and I'm hoping it was a shot gun because otherwise, bro, I'm in love ... or something ... anything. I pred

  4. You obviously failed to explore the full extent of the search function. Yes, it defaults to 2011 but if you select 2011 and then select the search again, the earlier years will become an option. It is a bit awkward but certainly doable, especially if you know that it can be done. pubby
  5. Search is time limited in its history. Search yourself or whatever name you had before zorro and you'll see. pubby What I said that he wouldn't be able to respond for a few days. That is a true statement and beyond that, it is none of your business. pubby
  6. I think you are confused and your reading comprehension is suspect as well. That was a personal attack. Given your history of such ... pubby It may be a few days before he can respond. pubby
  7. This post is slanderous. COWA was never banned and to suggest someone who has signed up and posted here is illiterate or 'dang near' is as absurd as it is demeaning. pubby
  8. I know folks here are alert to most traps but I happened upon one that was particularly alluring. It promised a free t-shirt for gun owners. The promised T was black with a white outline of a gun integrated with the text "ipac" into the logo. Yep, a free T-shirt ... stating your support and association for carry rights. The tip this was a scam was in the description of the items source. First, it claimed to be the product of a Maryland Ad Agency. I've worked in an ad agencies and I know they are sticklers for English grammar. And poor grammar including capitalization are the
  9. That message is awfully cryptic mojo. Could you PM me a less revised version so I can understand it? pubby
  10. Kind of sounds like most communities these days ... heck, it sounds better than state of the family where half the marriages fail Stonewall; you might also consider the expression of this breadth of opinion as an exercise in freedom of speech; if you are inclined to view water glasses as half full instead of almost empty. In regard and to expand an earlier post: Things are tough all over ... oh, and what profit??? pubby

  13. I'm listening. I will make one statement and that is as a society, I don't think that anyone is above the law. Some folks can avoid the law, but the notion that someone is above the law is a principal. I will note that when injustice - someone in authority exceeding their authority - it has traditionally been one of the most discussed topics here. This includes the travails of the Morrisons, the death discussed in this topic and, with notice that the chaos surrounding the President being possibly the biggest news story of the 21st century - the actions and re-actions of Donald Trump.
  14. From Roll Call: Sen. John McCain has a brain tumor and may undergo chemotherapy and radiation treatment. The tumor was diagnosed after the Arizona Republican underwent surgery to remove a blood clot above his left eye at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix. “Subsequent tissue pathology revealed that a primary brain tumor known as a glioblastoma was associated with the blood clot,” according to a statement from the hospital. The statement went on to say McCain and his family are reviewing options, which “may include a combination of chemotherapy and radiation.” Doctors des

  16. While the description you present is somewhat accurate, you still need to read the GBI report on this shooting. There was shooting through walls and one deputy ended up with a bullet lodged in a vest. You are right, the officers in the house were obviously freaked in a scary place and a few inches here or there and the body count from the only folks with guns would have climbed by double; maybe triple. Oh, and anyone who knew Danny Hammett knows that he moved like an 18th month old, running, which admittedly would be scary ... but not particularly fast. pubby
  17. You folks should read the GBI report on that shooting sometime. I'm curious if the wrongful death suit has ever been settled and how much it cost the county. pubby
  18. Notice how people on the far right are always the victim? pubby
  19. The unarmed people laying dying on the ground had no intention of stirring the pot. Usually, the topic is not front and center unless or until there a body; usually black, outlined on the pavement. The point is the act of shooting unarmed people is the act that stirs the pot. Officers of the law are the one's doing the shooting so are you accusing them of stirring the pot? pubby
  20. The whole fun thing was a biggie. Back, before the economic crash, folks were a lot, lot more inclined to have fun. Since, not so much. The trolls of the far right made a play for dominance and those, including the owner, were not inclined to abdicate, didn't generate much in the way of fun. Then the airport and, similarly, the divisions were hardened and of course, everyone from the Sheriff to the chamber president and local TV news anchors, their mothers, nieces, aunts, uncles and the exchange students who came all were saying, see me on facebook ... not to mention the three years of

  22. The Washington Post is calling this bit from Shep Smith's reveal his "Cronkite Moment" ... story The reason this is important is that Fox News, because they bent over backwards to give Trump the benefit of the doubt, could not give him a pass on this. Why? Because the mere existence of this meeting in June 2016 undercuts the entire defense Trump made saying there was nothing there. Which brings us all back to Jennifer Rubin's observation: And it is this unmistakable and irremovable scandal — a web of collusion, lies and coverup — that suggests there is no way to move beyond
  23. For all those who have been saying those calling foul are getting fat on 'nothing burgers,' this discussion between Shep Smith and Chris Wallace on Fox News suggests the meal is more a quadruple helping of Stroganoff. As they say on the right, get woke. pubby
