  1. There is no legal basis for criminal proceedings. They just didn't want their predator representing them. They won, he won't be. pubby
  2. The statute of limitations long ran out on this. He will never be a convicted criminal even if he is suspected of criminal acts. I don't want him baby sitting my grand-daughter when she's 13 and I don't think you would want him baby sitting yours either. His rights are protected. And I will fully admit this is a political case and it looks like with only the urban areas left in Alabama left to report - and they are going for Jones over Moore - the vote has repudiated him. Notably, the vote looks like 50-49 victory and if it were a court of law, that would be a hung jury. No o
  3. No one is trying to prosecute or persecute Roy Moore for his screwed up personality that had him chasing young girls in the 1980s. They're just saying that he's an idiot with a tradition of flawed judgment and we don't want him representing southerners in the US Senate. Here's a video from the redneck liberal that states the same. pubby
  4. Publix at Ridge Road and 61 is open. Food Depot was closed. I'm not sure about Ingles or Kroger on Ridge but I suspect they're open. The roads may have some black ice tonight when the temps get below freezing so be careful but for the most part, the ground was warm enough that when the sun came out, most of the snow melted and evaporated. There are some slushy spots in the shade that are okay for right now but might be dangerously slick once the sun goes down and temperatures drop. pubby
  5. So did mine. The good part was that it didn't go out until about 8:30 this morning. Got a little chilly but had an audible book, crawled under a blanket and listened for about five hours ... after I took a few snap shots. Came back on a little after 3 pm. Here's one of the ladders against the container. It gives you an idea of how much snow actually fell here ... close to 12'' Last night I realized that not only trees are falling, but limbs so I moved a couple of cars out to a clearing. This morning Ginger had to check out the snow falling from the limbs. This was
  6. I'm on the north side of new Georgia just north of the ballfields and while I've seem some voltage surges - momentary blackouts around 6pm - we still have power. I really hope we are not put into the dark and cold. pubby
  7. I was in the middle of responding earlier (much earlier) and dang if we didn't experience a voltage surge that killed the pc. Fortunately, I've still got power but we've had some limbs drop including one that temporarily was blocking the front drive. As far as how to post pictures, the problem is that you've got too many attachments. You can go in an delete a bunch of them from way back by going to your profile and selecting settings. Along the left hand side of the settings page is a tab called manage attachments. You can order them from recent to old and go to the old ones and d
  8. I take it, cptlo, that you are on principle against the law redistributing wealth. You do know that by cutting taxes on the wealthy, allowing them to invest in treasury bills, raising the interest on those treasury bills and having the revenues taken from the middle class tax hike pay the interest on the tax cuts is a massive redistribution of wealth from the middle class to the oligarchs. You should read and at least attempt to study Piketty's book on the increasing income inequality created by the ultra wealthy. Another book, of course, speaks to the relative importance and issues a
  9. I suppose you're going to be all for repealing the constitutional provision against the institution of nobility and titles. You know that was the only way that the kings of yore could pull money from his fellow noblemen. Hell, the British Army used to sell officer commissions. pubby
  10. You mean Trump lied when he said the new tax plan was going to cost him money? I shouldn't have said that ... I should have said, You mean Trump lied AGAIN when he said the new tax plan was going to cost him money? pubby
  11. Amazing, I was just wondering what sheeple like GD and dogs will do when they actually wake up and see the kleptocrats from Russia bought the liar in chief lock, stock and barrel and the entire Trump populism was the biggest con, not to mention, transfer of wealth from the middle class to the - what do you call them elites or gods - I'll go with royal wannabes myself. The one thing that I will point out is that the position of the right being fore square against redistribution of wealth on principle is now in the trash pile along with all the other hypocrisies. Seriously, passage of this
  12. And I suppose you think that Trump is a paragon of veracity? I could accept that only in a world of pink unicorns. You're watching too much Fox. Lets see, here the top national security advisor for a president who has been in office less than a year pleads guilty to a felony and promises to spill the beans on collusion and corruption and you think leftists are peeing on themselves. You better check your shorts for a load of the smelly brown stuff. pubby
  13. I'll admit things get better when you go to the treasury and borrow trillions of dollars that you pass around but look at how debt ballooned during Reagan-Bush. The way I saw it then and the way I see it now is that these 'trickle down' economic plans are just welfare for the rich. You give them millions in tax cuts that they turn around and instead of 'paying taxes' they loan back to the state which pays them interest on the debt ... i.e. creating their own special tax-free welfare program. It is stupid and because of the ballooning of the debt, it doesn't work. As far as your persona
  14. One of the messages here is that chronic fear is killing us. This is because our mental state effects our bodies on the level ofour DNA and how effectively our cells reproduce. Here is the conclusion of the talk. It raises a criticalquestion that deserves consideration ... and comment in light of thepassage of so-called 'tax reform' early this morning. But I'm still curious. I dowonder what legacy all of uswill leave for the next generation? Willwe invest in thenext young woman or man peering througha microscopeat the next little critter, thenext bit of pond scum, curiousabout a q
  15. Talk about swallowing fake news. This is not about the election; it may not be much about trump. What it is about is the success of the oligarchs, both here and around the world, to corrupt and buy the government of the United States of America using international skulduggery. pubby
  16. Actually, acts that have taken place since the election are probably more telling as to the collusion as acts during the election. Why? Because the acts after the election seem to show that Trump and his inner circle were seeking to complete the devils bargain that began with the support the Russians gave in disrupting and throwing the election to Trump with the obvious payoff, efforts to remove the existing sanctions against the Russians. pubby
  17. More lies? What lies are you talking about? The one's where Trump says the tax bill will cost him? The lie that it will create so much growth it won't add trillions of dollars to the deficit? The ones that say that the Trump administration is competent? That it did not collude with the Russians? That it did not seek to surreptitiously practice foreign relations in direct violation of the Logan Act? That his administration is the most successful administration with the greatest inauguration crowds and most votes of any president ever in history? There are so many of them so I'll just
  18. If it turns out that Trump and members of his campaign team and members of his administration were, in fact or effect, agents of the Russian government and promised and did things for them in return for their stealing internal documents from the Democrats with impunity (we can't prosecute the thieves; they won't extradite them); will you continue to support Trump? You do know there is at present a circumstantial case that suggests this is what is happening and has happened and what the special prosecutor is doing is documenting the actions including money changing hands and official and u
  19. They've got to check with 'mother ship' to know how to react. I want to make one observation; if Trump had lost, these folks would be doing their best to disrupt the Hillary Clinton administration and, like the Feds backing down at the Bundy ranch, it would have been politically inexpedient to go in and prosecute. The collusive effort was aimed at turning the neo-nazis and their fellow travelers into a brown shirt brigade that would have made the events at Charlottesville seem insignificant. Where is this going? There is a cancer in the nation that morphed from traditional conservati
  20. This is breaking news. Former Trump National Security Director Michael Flynn, famous for leading the chant "lock her up" at the Republican National Convention, will plea guilty to lying to the FBI in the Russia-Trump collusion case later this morning. Pundits have been suggesting the increasingly bizarre tweets, including retweeting a British neo-nazi that led British Prime Minister Theresa May to dis-invite Trump from a state visit to Great Britain, were due to fears of what Gen. Flynn may divulge in regard to President Trump's knowledge of the Russian interference. Indeed, Trump, w
  21. #6 #9 ... I think encompasses your response there dogs. Maybe #7 too. pubby
  22. Is this image from the last GOP bubble bursting more fitting? Do know that we're replaying the same script. Of course the nuclear bomb video referenced the imagery possible with Trump's exacerbating the situation with N. Korea and that he's unhinged enough to do something stupid ... pubby PS: How confident are you that if the N. Koreans launched one of their missiles at DC they would not actually hit DC but Atlanta? PPS: Read the research and recognize that all the comments are actually informative to the broader topic.
  23. Our society is being overrun by people suffering from authoritarian personality syndrome. They are, btw, attracted to jobs in LEO and the military. pubby
