Absolutely I know that the media get it wrong. Media reports have always been considered the first draft of history. The lesson from this story is not that the media distorts the facts for its own purposes - initial reporting was factual - but that actors in the society actively exploit and spin some of the facts of the story to bolster their ideological approach.
