  2. Immediately below the topic to the left of the multiquote, quote and like this buttons is the word report. It sets up a report in the moderator center. You state your objection there and when a moderator comes they take care of it. I tend to let the mods handle topics that I've been active in unless the situation is totally out of control. pubby
  3. You need to report the topic to moderation. You should know I was rarely do moderator work. It is too easy to point a finger at me and usually, if I kill a topic like this one, I get a whole new topic saying how those who are always right because their right wing and that means they're right, right start crowing about their victory. Please do report the topic to the mods. pubby
  4. GD: Your point was that GB was this society that was largely homogeneous and so much more docile and peaceful. I rejected that and the reality is GB or Europe are not appreciably less violent than we are, they just don't have easy access to the best killing tools. You say it is not 'guns' ... it is the people and I'm saying it is not the people that is the difference because those folks are as violent as are we. I mean they have probably five times the run-a-muck wide scale violence including literally 100 people or more dying at their football games - whereas sports fanatic related vio
  5. Ideally, people should live close to their work. That is also more possible in Germany where worker loyalty to specific companies is also a greater trend in the labor markets than here, where the trends go more toward work sharing than layoffs a 1099 workers and other contract working arrangements are common. The existing public transport in Germany and Europe all together is partly due to necessity. Significant portions of the cities date back 400 years and were originally designed to accommodate people, not automobiles. Major development in our cities and nation are all built around th
  6. I know you didn't mention immigration because your expressed knowledge of Great Britain was obviously so limited your ignorance prevented you. I don't limit my replies to what you actually post because your knowledge is so infinitesimal as to render any response so limited to the same level of gibberish as the original. pubby
  7. I doubt it. I mean, since we have a president that talks casually about grabbing pussies and we even had a president whose common nick name was tricky dick, I don't think we've ever sanctioned use of that phrase. After all, to discourage the re-posting of pornography, we did establish that quoting offending posts made one as guilty as the OP. Still, it is a stretch that using that expression would be used as a tool to quiet you. Now, your post as it stands, which is an personal attack on pcom moderation is more likely to raise a red flag. We have rules regarding criticism of modera
  8. I think you paint a picture that is a bit more dire than is reality but the themes you hit upon, including the propensity for violence are perceptive. That our society has been manipulated into a conflict is without a doubt being manifested in these outbursts of violence. A big part of our inability to address the issues is the pervasive ignorance of those who think, as you say, that our social problems could be best solved by giving everyone guns and letting God sort it out. You don't know jack about Great Britain or English history, obviously. FYI, you do know that the issu
  9. We've been through this many times before and the answer of doing nothing has resulted in an average one school shooting every three days since January first in Trumps America. I think the evidence is that doing nothing is not working. So, it doesn't come as any surprise that your prescription is again, doing nothing. How many more innocent children do we sacrifice to your lack of imagination? pubby
  10. I see the 1998 Jonesboro AR shooting where an 11 year old killed five at a middle school has fallen off the list. It was quite the sensation because the kids involved; an 11 year old and a 13 year old were soooo young. I don't know, I thought CC had two rather serious points; the first being the map showing where patriots had spilled their blood in sacrifice - literally gave their lives even unwillingly - so not only could you have as many firearms and as much ammunition as you feel you need without restriction on you or the profitability of those who sell guns to you. Given the
  11. Oh, you're bringing that Ben Rhodes thing up. Yeah, I think the answer might have been he toked a joint with Barack back when they were in school or something like that. I've not heard of him trying to hit up the Iranians for a half-a-billion to buy a hotel so he can put his name on it or even bail him out of a billion dollar debt like Jared has apparently done with the Saudi's, Chinese, Russians and ??? pubby
  12. I think what you're saying CC is that it is grossly hypocritical to yell "lock her up" for maintaining a private server where there were pains taken to keep secret material off of - 99 percent of Hillary's top secret communications were handled by secure state department couriers not email - and remain silent when dozens of top White House personnel don't have and apparently are so flawed as individuals can't get security clearances. I wonder how many are just plain spies (including Jared Kushner, whose access is unlimited and whose relationships, circumstances and behaviors make him appea
  13. Talk about thinking out of the box, Germany, seeking to avoid fines from the EU, is considering providing free public transportation in the belief that making getting around free will entice an increasing large part of the population to abandon the automobile. The proposal would include state support for car-sharing schemes suggesting that an approach somewhat shy of 'cold turkey' abandonment will add to the success of the effort. Germany, the most affluent economy in the EU, faces fines for its increased adoption of the automobile for personal transportation and because of the 'numbe
  14. That's easy, the right wing zealots have effectively redefined conservatism so that traditional conservatives are now defined as liberals if not raving commies. See what I mean. GD would be the first to define MSNBC as a totally liberal site despite its engagement of pundits like Joe Scarborough, Hugh Hewett (Author of the book about moochers mrshoward cited in another topic), former RNC Chair Michael Steele, awarding programs to conservatives like Nicolle Wallace, Ali Velshi and even Chuck Todd, whose book, "The Stranger" provided Republican's with mainstream backing for their O
  15. TP: You write like Kingfish (Of Amos 'n Andy fame) talks. "Oooh Andy, youse gots a Cadillac in your eyeball!" The interesting thing about the video was that it was directed at the builder community and suggests that their private decisions as they construct spec housing is critical in conservation through their choices. By aiming at doing every thing the cheapest way and to hell with the costs of operating the structure, they are condemning folks to inordinate home energy costs for the 75 year life of the structure. Builders seem to say that they just are not capable of selling t

  17. You may think I'm a liberal but the reality is if conservatism is based on a notion of conservation - they both have conserve as the root word - then I'm a lot more conservative than most of those who relish in calling me liberal. Watch the video. Here is a bit of the conversation taken from the youtube discussion.
  18. Received an email at 2:45 noting this kid has been found. Just moments ago, Detectives with the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office Crimes Against Children Division made contact with Isaiah Robles. Robles was at a friend’s house in Kennesaw and is okay. Officers with the Kennesaw Police Department were able to go to the address where he was located and confirm that he is okay. Thank you to everyone for sharing this information with your viewers, listeners, and readers. pubby

His father called and reported himmissing/runaway at 5:27 AM on 02/13/18. We do not have any information that would indicate wherehe is lo

  21. Absolutely I know that the media get it wrong. Media reports have always been considered the first draft of history. The lesson from this story is not that the media distorts the facts for its own purposes - initial reporting was factual - but that actors in the society actively exploit and spin some of the facts of the story to bolster their ideological approach. That this story became the poster child for tort reform was based on a very biased retelling of the story by forces that were able to overwhelm the greater truth. The real problem is there seems to be a failure to 'reality

  23. And one of the PRIMARY reasons the 'rule of law' is ineffective right here in the USA is that these victims are not only being bullied, raped and killed by MS-13 but literally being hunted down, separated from their families and summarily deported back to where MS-13 IS THE LAW. They can't complain to the law because they are afraid the law will 'victimize' them. Don't you know that is what Sanctuary cities are ALL ABOUT! PUBBY
  24. For some reason this retro news video produced by the NYTimes on the famous million dollar judgment regarding spilled Hot coffee at McDonalds shows how politics in particular, confuses facts for a purpose. pubby
  25. So do I. But like with most things, I think those on the right just don't know what the hell they're doing and further, what they end up doing defeats the original purpose. pubby
