  1. The latest reports from Alabama show Roy Moore to be a criminal who assaulted young women. He had such a bad reputation, apparently, he was banned from a local mall for hitting on the teen girls when he was DA in Gadsden Ala in the 1980s. And your response is not to condemn the sonofbitch but to bring up an allegation that I never heard of and expect us to not call it 'whataboutism" ... and an observable propaganda tactic to avoid the topic. That's bull sheeze and anyone whose not taken a blood oath to the white nationalist tribe would have the integrity to say so. pubby
  2. Just another off topic comment that has nothing to do with the do nothing response of the right to the murder of church goers in Texas. pubby
  3. Perfection eludes all of them. I have to say that folks abandoned folks like Wienstein like he had the plague whereas the latest news from NBC is that the Republican National Committee still has as of tonight 11 paid political operatives on the ground in Alabama aiding the Roy Moore campaign. (The RNC is not to be confused with the RSCC the Republican Senatorial Campaign committee). Locals still think he'll win the seat. pubby
  4. That's so 2010, SG. What do you think the Obamacare and tax bills have been in this congress? Heck, at least they held hearings on Obamacare; a shortcut eliminated by this congress. pubby
  5. Another case of whataboutism You have certainly identified the whataboutism king - Donald Trump. And TP; you're falling for their whataboutism tactic that is designed to change the subject, avoid their having to accept the truth and muddy the issues. It is a propaganda tool. The mods should close the topic if it doesn't bet back on the topic of the shooting at the church in Texas. pubby
  6. Hey, I'm all for Roy Moore staying in the race. I would say that there were what, was it 14 or 31 women who came forward to say it was more than just locker talk. Trump, as is typical, threatened law suits but never did (also typical as he makes a lot more threats than actual suits.) But hey, the voters 'decided' and I can guarantee you that while this sexism won't make him any more popular among women voters, it won't be the reason that he is booted from office. BTW: I too think Roy Moore should drop out of the race but that is not at all inconsistent with my statement above. I
  7. I guess I don't know much about the hasterts case as I assumed the choice of the wresting students in their early teens and working with them through high school was partly emotional growth of Hastert personally had stunted at that age and 'opportunity' ... his job as a high school coach provided him with ample opportunity. I guess I further assumed a pedophile went after pre-pubescent children. I know that the pro moore folks in Alabama were quite upset calling him a pedophile when legally going on young girls of that age and doing what he was alleged just made him a child moleste
  8. That case has been going on since 2015, I want to say. It was pretty much headline news then. What do you want the news folks to do, oh, and remember folks it has been 65 days since any one turned a tap on the bob menendez trial. The record amount of time between days of something happening and something not in this slow to come to fruition case was 144 back in 2012 but we can hope that tomorrow is another day. Then, of course as we all could have told you but out of deference to reason, that proof there are more accusers that will be coming forward once the first breaks through the wall
  9. That's kinda funny. It is old though. It didn't bring up Denny Hastert at all. You know the former house speaker who was going down on his wrestlers when he was a high school wrestling coach. pubby
  10. I dare say just about everything he perceives about most everything is unreal as most everything he says is based on forwarding the propaganda message of those inhabiting some alternative universe where black is white; tribalism is not racist and fake news is real. pubby
  11. The trial is continuing and the evidence of the so-called cavorting with underage girls was not the charge that got the Senator in the dock. from YOUR STORY: Indeed, alleged witnesses have not been named and those that have, have recounted. I will concede that the case has been dragging along for some time and we all should know the outcome sooner rather than later. I'll even concede that possibly the federal judge trying the case is considerate of the defense due to politics and has slowed things down so that the state of New Jersey would not have to endure the self-appoint
  12. You don't get it. Democrats expect Moore to win and figure he will be a gift that keeps on giving. It is the establishment Republicans who know that Moore is destined to be more hated than Pelosi and is just the type of 'villain' Democrats can use to get their vote out. His stench is so bad anyone with a R behind their name will smell. Did you just try to justify pedophelia? ... damn ... you are depraved. pubby PS: I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, you're a Republican.
  13. That same study you cite says, among the things known is: No system exists to track acquisition, type, or motivation for firearms. Why is that? Simply stated, the NRA wants to keep guns and their source and usage from scrutiny. If you don't know, you don't know. I will say one thing about the 79% figure of guns used in crime not being used by their registered owners. My reading suggests this figure includes the use of a weapon by a relative of the owner including, for instance, the use of a pistol owned, or once owned by grandpa, in the suicide of his grandson. It would als
  14. Yes,in a court of law. But as Mit Romney pointed out so eloquently, elections are not courts. The woman presents a credible case and knowing it wouldn't have ever make it to court even then - Moore was the DA and in a good ole boy system, above reproach ... or now as the statute of limitations has long run out. I'm sure the story was not widely told as it was talked about among friends for decades spreading as a rumor that the WAPO reporters followed up upon. What they discovered is by any measure kind of creepy. Moore is creepy. His 'eye' for the teeny boppers as young as 14 ... when
  15. Actually there were two links to two different original research papers in the piece quoted from slate ... However, citing sources and actual facts to those in the tribe has seemed like a wasted effort since about 2010. I mean you folks ignore official papers like birth certificates and broad consensus (like 98% agreement on the seriousness of climate change) and accept absolute BS like Mexico paying for our fence or that this congress will actually cut taxes for everyone in the middle class. Said differently, because the data backs the points I made on guns and conflicts with you
  16. On the second point, there have been studies that show those households who own guns experience a significant increase in the likelihood they will be the victim of gun violence. From an article in slate: As far as insurance lessening the incidence of homicide by gun, there is research showing that guns are less likely to be used in a homicide if they are stored locked and unloaded. Insurance, by providing discounts to the cost based on good practices can be predicted to reduce gun deaths. Indeed, one of the main reasons for spousal homicide is the easy access to a gun during an
  17. I don't know what you're talking about, " I'm not a member of any organized political party; I'm a Democrat." - Will Rogers. I'm afraid you're going to have to make your decision based on the information at hand as the case will never go to court. There will continue to be digging and we already know how the woman that folks are saying is a democratic operative got there - She is a small businesswoman whose firm operates in Florida and Alabama and provides interpretive signing for the deaf and is often hired by Democrats and I assume somewhat more rarely by Republicans ... but I'm sur
  18. I can question you about the details of the alleged incident; record your answers including dates and places. As a person who has left a pretty good record of what I was doing - there are newspapers full of news clips that place me at specific locations on specific days and other sorts of records; credit card receipts, people I was with, etc. Bottom line, there is pretty good chance I could disprove your slander. What we know is that this gals mother was in a custody hearing at the courthouse where Moore was employed on that date and Moore, as an attorney, was making filings, writing lette
  19. Really? I recall being at the Comedy Central election night party in New York City when the guy I supported won back in 2008. As far as draining the swamp; we have a whole new administration in Washington and that is exactly what happened ... What no one counted on is they brought in the Labrea tar pit, complete with neanderthals, dinosaurs (lots of dinosaurs) and tons of black, gooey, stinky, oily tar. Frankly it is 1000 times worse than a swamp. It always sucks you in and kills; no chance to get away from the black death of the trump tar pit. pubby
  20. Well, you better go to the site and find that article and give us a link pointing out all the stuff that exonerates him in that well done article that turns old Roy on a spit like the pig he is. You so like making posts with only links, so go do it. pubby
  21. He's not a concern to us, heck we'd love to have six years talking about the Republican pedophile in the Senate. It is folks like John McCain, and Mitt Romney, both of whom were nominated for president by the GOP, that are mortified and embarrassed for the Republican Party that are concerned... concerned for the future of the GOP. Jennifer Rubin, the conservative WAPO columnist said if the rank and file let Moore is not rejected, the whole party ought to dissolve in shame. But again, don't say we're concerned on the other side of the aisle ... Noooooooo ... We didn't expect to win th
  22. Amazing, I just read the article and it said she supported and voted for Donald Trump. Could it have been Steve Bannon making that charge you read about. I know that he claimed the Washington Post made up Trump's 'you can grab 'em by the p***y" quote out of thin air ... and I'm sure you believe Bannon about that yathink? ... I mean it is one of the leaders saying so, meaning all tribe members must ignore their lying eyes and ears 'cause they're right wing and that makes them right, right! pubby
  23. It is not a moronic idea; you just have no imagination. Actually, as a gun owner you should be totally in favor as you are a gun owner and therefore at much higher risk of being injured or killed by a gun. The gun insurance I envision would pay your family if you are killed by a gun. Think of it kind of like a lottery including the fact that the government is not involved in setting the rates or looking over your shoulder to make sure you are being safe (lower risk) in your use of a gun. Heck, it could even be factored in to the cost of the weapons you purchase and the ammunition
  24. Bill Clinton, if you recall, ended up being impeached on charges related to that scandal. I, BTW know that Clinton wasn't trying to tap a 14 year old or even a nineteen year old. I knew some of those whom he did and they were all over 21. Also, I more or less gave the first Republican Sheriff since Reconstruction in Paulding a general pass on his numerous peccadilloes - and they were numerous - although I drew the line at not writing about them until folks started filing civil suits - there were more than one - against him for sexual harassment. Targets included female deputies and ve
