  1. We can go into some of the things that would make you go HUMMMM in regard to the railroads another time and it is also obvious that Landslide Lyndon had a lot to do with NASA and its funding ... but how you can leave Tammany Hall's involvement in the construction of Central Park in NY in the mix without acknowledging that it was born in graft by folks in politics whose only purpose was graft. Okay, some 'park architects' who became famous for the design of the park were involved in the creation of Central Park but the only reason they didn't pay a kickback to get the job was it was a contest
  2. Please move the discussion elsewhere or you all will be able to resume it tomorrow there. pubby
  3. GD: If you're going to play tit for tat with RM do it in the topic split for that purpose. I understand that in your mind, you're as innocent as the driven snow. I mean in all the time I've seen you post on Pcom you've never admitted be wrong and I wouldn't imagine you would chose this moment to change that record. I came here to note that split topic is now here. Do know that the password for Paulding Place is ... ON (all caps). Again, please respond to and direct comments on this dispute. to that topic. thank you. pubby
  4. GD: I'm watching 12 Angry men on TCM and you are exhibiting the judgement of Juror #3 - the one played by Lee J. Cobb. pubby
  5. OMG ... Crossroads ... you're not suggesting that you and your friends start up a prayer police and tell people they do that wrong too? I guess that is not too far fetched. You folks want to tell people how to think and that isn't much different than telling 'em how to pray. God I'm glad you're not in control ... Oh, wait ... you guys did win the last local election. pubby
  6. Published on Jul 25, 2015 In this edition of the Pat and Patti Show the hosts contemplate the path forward by asking elemental questions about how and why ... only to be drawn off their course of deep thoughts by a guest. Do the duo do do on their conservative guest as predicted by the minions? You'll have to watch to see. Click for RECENT TOPICS click for RECENT TOPICS click for RECENT TOPICS
  7. Mojo: What the three pushed through as an amendment to the intergovernmental agreement was not intended to be a compromise. It was an effort to find another avenue for litigation. Anyone with an understanding of the circumstance recognizes that the time for compromise was early on; long before the filing of even one lawsuit funded by unknown sources that, from a position of anonymity, demanded and for all intents and purposes, continues to demand total capitulation. Bottom line you can't negotiate anything when you don't even know who your opposition is. To prove that point, a
  8. A better question is whether I Would allow my customers to come in, eat and not pay and insult me on the way out ... and expect me to remain silent? pubby
  9. Where did I say you were wrong. I said you were not in favor policies I think of as progress ... I may want more progress than you want but the one thing I've never seen from the anti-crowd is the prospect for compromise ... No one has said, let us come reason together. Oh tundra ... all I heard from you... sounded like to me was you saying "my way or the highway ... " And I'm saying that as someone who really is independent on this whole thing. (Despite your statements saying I'm in David's pocket - which is absolute BS - I'm just an independent guy who from the first days of this thi
  10. Tundra: You can say that the airport is opposed 2:1 all day and all night but I've never seen a copy of a legitimate survey that disclosed its methodology, its sample base, the dates it was conducted or any thing that separates that from an assertion. Beyond that, there is no rule that says that progress is popular ... or even more broadly people don't always do the those things that are good or best for them. I mean America is much more obese than it needs to be despite the fact we know that is bad for health. pubby
  11. Whitey: You're wrong. I sided with progress and what I think is best for the community. If that means that I disagree with you and Tundra ... etc. that doesn't mean I think you are stupid; just not in favor of progress. pubby
  12. You're right. it was Feb. 2013 when I had the stents. It was in 2012 and before that the support from the site had been evaporating and ... the effort to run was an approach to find another way to subsidize the costs of running the site. On the airport issue, you and the others were and are able to post your opinions as you always have been. That I have a different opinion and wouldn't parrot your opinions is the rub. Bottom line, I didn't accept your opinions as the facts. pubby
  13. In Nov. 2013, I was having some health issues. In Feb. I had several stents put in. The effort to marginalize the site began long before that time and aspects of it were quite effective. pubby
  14. I especially wonder what they told these folks in their meeting with those bidding regarding their 'stroke' with the Paulding County Board of Commissioners. That 'investment' could not only block the expansion of PUJ but hey, with the 'majority' in their pocket, no telling what they could put there. pubby PS: That is why it matters where the money that funded that campaign came from.
  15. Actually GD ... I see you as pretty dismissive of the two women on the show as well ... using words like "tasteless, ugly ... disgusting" ... followed by statements like, "you're dealing with intellects that are way out of your minor league" say I'm dealing with someone with an inflated idea of themselves. For example, I'm sure that Donald Trump, who denies that he insulted the Latinos when he called the rapists and murderers and runs beauty contests that have objectified women would be any more likely to admit he is a misogynist than you. Hey, denial is one of the tips off. Anoth
  16. Melissa just texted me that they moved Thad to the long term acute care facility at Windy Hill last night. They noted that he did have a busted rib from the actions they took reviving him I guess it was about two weeks ago. He will also have to return for surgery. He still has some help breathing and has a feeding tube but as folks have noted, he is still alert and getting more so. I'm going to try and get by there, possibly on Sunday. pubby
  17. Landlocked was probably not the best word. Surrounded on three sides is more accurate. Pardon my improper use of the language. My concern was that they were planning from the point of view that PUJ was 'theirs' and so was not on the map like all the other independent airports ... pubby
  18. Yeah ... preach it. You do know how arrogant you sound, not to mention misogynistic. pubby PS: Would I be out of line to ask if you are representative of the master race?
  19. Choi's rewrite of a story from Scientific American relating to an ice age millions of years ago is a credible source but not relevant. An unsourced chart from Mr. Goddards cite is ... well credible scientific sources don't use words like moron. As far as WR's arguments ... let me simplify. First there is public spending and then there is private spending ... and in some places, like the US, we have industries like health care get their revenue from both public and private sources. Your argument in this case mixes public and private in a manner that makes no sense what so ever
  20. You post a chart from Mr. Goddard's site ... and put a link below to Mr. choi's article and your link is the only connection that I can see. I'm supposed to say this is legitimate connection between the bits of information? Sorry Charlie ... that bullcheese don't even make it as reject tuna. pubby
  21. At times like these, I appreciate (especially) 4-G data speeds and the presence of a free wifi-point from my tmobile phone. (Which is actually faster than my current data program from comcast.) pubby
  22. The chart was not credited. The chart was not sourced. I've not seen the chart associated with Mr. Choi ... nor am I going to say anything more than Mr. Choi is a writer/blogger and not a scientist. As far as Mr. Goddard. What are his credentials. The chart you showed was from his site. Did he alter the chart? Is he an unbiased source or recognized expert? I think not and while I won't say that he altered the data allegedly collected by Mr. Choi, I wouldn't call it an impossibility. I do appreciate Mr. Goddard's use of scientific terms like 'moron' as he writes his denier blog.
  23. Zorro: I'm amazed at the depths of your deception. The actual blog from which the 'suspect' Antarctic ice report you posted doesn't have anything to do with the article link. The only possible link is that incremental increases in the ice sheet (not depth) as suggested by the chart some relates to the rise of the Rocky Mountains, the closing of the ismus of Panama and incidentially, a growing ice cap at the south pole related to the ice age millions of years ago means this piddling change is somehow convincing proof. Now here's the deception. Your chart came from this site - th
  24. PS: One of the real problems that you seem totally oblivious to is that when the permafrost actually melts and decay of the ground begins, it is projected that there will be a tremendous amount of methane gas released. While carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas and acts like a blanket holding in heat, its insulating properties pale in comparison to the release of methane gas into the atmosphere. The concern of scientists is that the gradual warming of the earth will reach the tipping point where the permafrost melts and that will be like adding an electric blanket to the atmosphere causin
