I thought it was funny You think it is because I'm paranoid ... and I think that is even funnier. btw, it was a link that came in an email from a guy I know in the media (wemedia.com) that I've exchanged a few emails with. I saw the youtube link, saw it had over 3 million views, listened to it and cackled

Would the EA have been done without the big-dollar lawsuit? No Was that anticipated at the time the contract was let? No. Oh, and it obviously would cost less to build in the North Industrial Park. It would have also cost less to stop the four-lane at the location that your drive enters the highway ... but again, costing the least is not always the best investment. The point is that isn't and wasn't the question and if it were, why did Todd go along with the plan to put it and the fire station at the airport ... because everyone knew it would cost less to keep it close to the j

And it looked like it might be necessary to make the move ... But there was also a chance, as suggested by Mr. Carmichael, that the move might not be necessary as the parcel might be exempted from the airports environmental assessment. The suggestion was to lay the decision on the table for four weeks to see if the roadblocks, which the forces against the airport in general have erected, could be removed. There was no interest at all in doing that even though, from the balance of the discussion I got the impression that if they couldn't get the project exempted, they would agree to the

You might think that the daring duo would leave well enough alone - no one threw anything at anyone at the commission meeting Tuesday - but our three gorgeous hunks of host find that singing is not their talent ... at least to begin. And the commission meeting, while a key bit in this weeks edition, is of interest, the grass-roots effort so obviously in play to overturn the zoning around the airport, is the more telling of the issues especially when the real beneficiary of the effort may be the city of Atlanta, which owns 9,400 acres right smack dab in the heart of the Airport overlay zone

PCSO UPDATE: Abducted 12 year old sought in kidnapping found
gpatt0n replied to gpatt0n's topic in Fastread page
I think if he had trouble with the law, was adept at using an alias, seemed to show 'happiness' ... that might be enough to con one's way into shelter. Those who live life on the edge tend to be glib and capable in that way. It would be more instructive if we had an idea of the 'crime' or crimes that brought him to the hoosegow in the past. pubby -
PCSO UPDATE: Abducted 12 year old sought in kidnapping found
gpatt0n replied to gpatt0n's topic in Fastread page
I just got another update to the story that credits GSP officers for spotting the vehicle while in Georgia who then alerted the Tennessee State Troopers to intercept and stop the man and boy, which they were able to do without incident. pubby -
Actually that is not true, tundra: The vote to table the surplus the tractor from the water dept. and give it to the IBA was tabled by a vote of 3-2 and I hardly think you were pleased they didn't have a 3-2 vote to let you speak or a 3-2 vote to let Roy Sparks have five more minutes for his presentation trashing the county's actions in regard to the reservoir. But not even including those conflicts, yes, there were eight numbered agenda items and three were decided by 3-2 votes. Throw in the motions ... for instance there was a motion to table the first agenda item which failed 3-2 an

Actually low... there are a number of us who share your fear ... and frankly we are all subject to acts beyond the scope and authority of government. It is not just the police that exceed their authority ... ask Thad and Melissa. Government exceeding their authority is an issue that affects all citizens in multiple ways. It is also the natural way of things and why democratic institutions are so essential. pubby

It all has to do with my instincts regarding libel and the Peter Zenger defense. If you are wrong on your estimate of who that is and ascribe a real world identity to this screen name it is provably wrong, then everything that screen name said you said about the 'real person' ... which in my estimate would be a clear case of libel. Now Section 230 c of the Computer Decency Act means you're solely responsible for ascribing the words of that unknown to a known person which given who you think may be the subject could result in your being sued. I try to protect the folks that post here f

Speak for yourself low. As far as the company ... I can't think of any company that doesn't have a record of the sales. I know for instance I can track, say lowrider's purchases going back several years. I also know, for instance, that my subscription for netflix can list the movies I've watched and the audible account lets me retrieve a book I bought five years ago. The point being that either they are too lazy or incompetent to provide the information to someone who is authorized to retrieve the information ... without respect to whether the purchaser has a copy or not. I

Surepip: I'm sure the law firm did most of the background checks on you, me and some others ... - probably those involved in litigation with the county as part of their due diligence and as part of their service to the county. The specific searches done by Mr. Jones may well have been anomalies based on the alleged extortion ... and nothing more. As far as the internet company that has not coughed up the names in response to the subpoena ... they may just be incompetent, short staffed or both. The reach of local government - even a local court - over a firm located out of state is li

Stradial: He didn't every buy a membership, the email associated with the membership is a general dotcom that anyone could have and the name on the email account doesn't provide a clue. While I have IP addresses, they return to a general ISP ... and while that data could be used to determine an identity, it would take a subpoena to get the information. There is some reason to suspect the identity but I've never seen any particular proof and given that I've not been asked to provide even the basic information to anyone seeking a subpoena, I am not going to make a gross assumption. Pastor with 666 tattoo claims to be divine
gpatt0n replied to Coppertop's Pop's topic in RECENT TOPICS
And a lot of people express delusions they are Christ incarnate. Here is the wiki entry of those who have and some who currently do: It would appear that those who make such claims often live lives that end badly ... which would incidentally include the original. pubby -
AIRPORT APPLICATION FOR COMMERCIAL SERVICE MAY BE IN ERROR
gpatt0n replied to WHITEY's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I had hoped the topic would not degenerate but obviously it has and it did. I have no knowledge of the real identity of the poster Toxic ... and reject the assertion the person posting is a known person. The off-topic personal attacks need to stop. pubby -

A group of young white men riding in pickup trucks with Confederate Battle Flags and spewing epithets are alleged to have confronted a gathering of black residents in Douglasville Saturday celebrating a child's birthday. The Douglasville Police interceded in the confrontation and the young white men were directed to leave the grassy area they had congregated upon - presumably private property owned by one of the folks at the party. There were no injuries and no arrests at the time of the incident but Douglasville police are reviewing the record to see if there are actionable violations

Pat and Patti Show Contemplating the way ... Pat and Patti Show 321

I wouldn't say it is meant to be a comedy show. That said, we are seeking to portray a more entertaining view of local, state and national issues and events and humor is definitely one of the tools we seek to employ. pubby -

I stopped by today (Sunday) and visited for about an hour and a half. When I was arrived he was sitting up in a chair and had his voice piece in. Thad was positively Thad (which is good) and seemed not just alert but sharp for someone who has been through what he's been. Melissa says she knows now that recovery is going to happen. They've got him a laptop and while he's seen some 180 emails ... their titles wishing him well and a speedy recovery ... These messages have come from around the world but as he's just now getting out of the constant fog that comes with being in the hospit
