Don't have the tea roses. I told my wife that the knockouts were maintenance free, that's the reason I got the dang things, however, a lady in her lunch group told her about cutting them back every year and how they flourished the next year. So guess what?, yep, I'm getting my arms tore up every December cutting them back. I will have to admit, they are pretty, and would probably take over the entire porch if I didn't.

I cut mine ( around 20) to the ground late December every year, they come back better than ever every spring.
