If she ate a meal loaded with carbs then her glucose level will spike. She needs to have an A1C test which is a two to three month average of her blood sugar levels. The A1C test is your average blood sugar over the past 2 to 3 months. A1C.....Glucose 5%.......97 mg/dL 6%.......126 mg/dL 7%.......154 mg/dL 8%.......183 mg/dL 9%.......212 mg/dL 10%.....240 mg/dL 11%.....269 mg/dL 1

Could have a leak in the coil and low freon will cause it to freeze up. A service call will cost around $70-$80 for an inspection + cost of freon if needed.
