  1. Here is some info given to my mom when she had cataract surgery a few years ago. Her surgeon told her that current technology only allows one "correction" to the eye. If you had vision correction surgery today, what about if you developed cataracts in 3 years? Might that mean that you could not have a correction for the cataracts? Just something to consider -- technology always changes.
  2. thanks - I swear that segment did not play the first time I viewed it. The story provides good reason to allow the SO to bring K9 units whenever they feel the need.
  3. >>> I also did not see any news on "drugs at local HS" -- at what point in the broadcast does that piece air?
  4. Clark holds the EMS zone and I do not believe any contract is required between it and the county. Clark simply has to staff 1 ALS unit to cover the zone. That's it. In an effort to help Clark provide a higher level of service and care, the county has provided funds over the past 5 years or so. It is not designated for indigent care nor is the county billed for deadbeats that can't/won't pay. It is very simple. Provide independent audit of the business and then additional subsidy, if warranted, can be discussed. I have requested RLS data from the state and we'll get to see if we
  5. I know of the large company by that name - I thought there was a new company using a similar name but not affiliated with the large nation-wide outfit.
  6. Does anyone know the owner(s) of the new service in the county?
  7. Clark was given the EMS Zone by the local EMS council. The county has no obligatin to make any payments. Clark has taken on the business risk of providing service and making a profit from that service. The county has, in good faith, provided fuel and monetary subsidy in an effort to help Clark increase service levels and provide additional staffing. We'd have to pull the RLS response times reported to the state from 2005-2010 to see if we have any ROI on the subsidy. My guess is that the response times have stayed flat or actually increased.
  8. You don't think the county has a right to verify the use of the funds provided? The audit has been asked for many times over the years. Provide it or no more subsidy. It is as simple as that. The county taxpayer has probably given at least 2 million dollars to this private firm over the years with no accountability. If there is no contract in place then why would any payments be due? The way I undestood the comments is that the previous contact expired over the summer.
  9. Ah, Pat sent to the back of the bus!! Thanks for the report as well - good update to local news.
  10. I've got an idea. A few days ago I posted a GA dept. of revenue deadbeat taxpayer 's list. Why don't you guys do the same. If there is a legitimate debt that you have exauhsted all means to recover, then "name names" for the Sienfeld fans.)
  11. Story: http://news.yahoo.com/s/time/20101027/wl_time/08599202769900 "But as many historians have stressed, the Foreign Ministry is only the first German government institution to carry out a comprehensive critical analysis of its Nazi history. It may yet serve as a wake-up call for other government ministries and institutions to look into their own dark pasts."
  12. 113 advises the GSP unit enroute that there are three with injuries being transported via rescue
  13. SO 113 still attempting to locate rescue advises Brownsville Rd at Legacy Park 4 total patients 113 on scene sounds like second clark unit enrute - traffic is broken and I can't make it out
  14. rescue 9 arrived and reported several patients also location is on Brownsville Rd, GSP enroute
  15. So 113, rescue 9, clark enroute dispatch reports hearing kids crying in backgroun -- could be for another call R9 on scene reports one car off roadway
  16. Most certainly not - remember that guy wanted to know how three fire trucks were going to fit in a 2 bay firehouse when station 11 was being approved....
  17. Luvscats, a rescue unit would arrive at the scene. Former directory of public safety Joe Griffin established years ago that each rescue could, in fact, transport if it came down to it. Clark would have to notify the state before it got to that point of no one being there to take a call. We are all concerned that we will have a service that we can depend on in the future. See Hee Haw's post above. The county had a duty to us, the taxpayer. A full audit is due before one more tax dollar is thrown that way without strings attached.
  18. The site states: The current amount due may differ from the original amount as a result of partial payments and/or accrual of additional penalty and interest. Since the last update, some taxpayers may have resolved their debts listed below and may be in the process of being removed from this list. This is an ongoing program and additional names will be added periodically. To ensure that

  21. I've gone to Paulding for stitches twice and did not have to wait too long. The second time, they just had me in the hallway because the did not have any available rooms. But, the care was fine and I'll go there again if I needed help.
