CC is cubic centimeters and refers to the displacement of the engine. A Ford 302 had 302 cubic inches. In metric terms that's a 5.0 liter engine. Which is 5000 cubic centimeters. A 302 can have a wide range of horsepower depending on an infinite number of factors. I have no idea why they've started advertising by displacement instead of horsepower on some small engines. It's a worthless number if you're looking at something like lawnmowers.

As I understand it a local man lost his life in this accident. -
More modern forms of social media have lured people away. And one poster has driven them away. I'm not sure which accounts for the largest number of casualties..

There are lots of lights set up, like you might see on a movie set. What's going on there?

Maybe you're not very gifted in the vision department. I follow the Onion and I'm a fan of their dark satire (I used to love National Lampoon magazine too.) You presented it as factual hoping to make those who may be unfamiliar respond and look foolish. Troll

No offense to hard working teachers (its not their fault) but our public schools are a bureaucratic nightmare. We're taxed to death to build colossal school palaces, and support athletic programs that have nothing to do with academics. The trend since my kids have been in school has been to stress parental involvement and homework, I guess because the teachers are too busy dealing with bureaucracy. If the educational system would put priorities in the right place there would be ample money to provide the basic needs of schools (without teachers having to come out of pocket.) Flame away. I

Why are political topics (or threads that become political) whisked off to the graveyard of password protected forums? I'm honestly not trying to start any controversy. I'm sure there's a logical explanation so maybe someone could enlighten me.

I read about that earlier and chuckled. It also occurs to me that every single member of our legislative and executive branches that would ban certain types of firearms or magazines are protected daily by the same devices. The real irony is that my tax dollars pay their salaries, the salaries of their guards, and buys the weapons. They'd live under a blanket of protection provided by me but take away mine?

These kids are the next generation of voters, and as we're seeing now, they're not exactly electing Teddy Roosevelt's. They're deciding elections based on minute social issues, with no concept of the bigger picture. Yes, their contributions to the world will look much different than those of previous generations, and that will happen in a world that looks different as well. We've lived through the greatest. I imagine the 20th century was the apex of civilization.

Massacres prove that people are willing to break the law too. The common denominator here is people. Guns didn't commit either crime. They're inanimate objects. -

This is just another example of why our deficit is enormous. We're spending money that we don't have on a program that we don't need. Lets stop subsidizing anything and let the free market work. -

How do you boil a frog? A little at a time. If the city you live in is the site of a natural disaster (like Katrina) there's no law enforcement. Looting and lawlessness will be rampant. You'll be the only security your family has. What size magazine do you want? As the anti gun people are quick to point out, there are staggering numbers of guns out there. There's no possible way to prevent criminals from getting any kind of gun they want (or magazine or ammo etc.) No law can ever shut down the used market or black market. Why does it make sense to prevent law abiding citizens from ob

Why do you post that video in every thread on this board? Why do you think the appropriate response to any topic is citing statistics about Mississippi? We've got the message. You have some sort of hangup on Mississippi that borders on obsession. Can you find a new subject to discuss?

People downsized in the past few years. They lost their homes. They lost savings. Their retirements. Their good salary jobs. They've regrouped, moved into trailer parks, and the economy numbers are looking better because those people are consumers again. Sure they spent a lot on christmas this year but thats because they dont have a house payment anymore. Theyre off unemployment but the new salary sucks! Even the 47% on the govt payroll are making the numbers look better by spending. I second the opinion expressed above. HS!
