  1. Thanks - I didn't think about the Senior Centers or the Park-n-Rec. I will pass these along as well.
  2. Thanks! I will pass this information along to them.
  3. My friend's daughter has to perform 20 hrs of community service and it cannot be Church related. Any ideas on what business or county departments might participate in this type of thing? I have no idea and wouldn't know where to begin. Thanks for any ideas or positive input.
  4. If you posess a gun permit, there is no witing period. Sorry, Grandson grabbed my arm LOL" waiting" period
  5. We also make our own laundry detergent but DH and I bought a used coffee grinder at the Good Will and that is how we grind up our soap - works like a charm and only takes a couple of minutes.
  6. Ok - well, I live in Burnt Hickory community and there are numerous sightings of coyotes all around me. It is pretty scary since I have small dogs and grandchildren that are out in my yard. I have really started watching them much closer than in the past. The wild hog looking thing that I saw on the side of the road was across from the airport near the end of Hwy 61 at Hwy 113. But one of our neighbors saw some wild hogs near the new traffic light (before it was a traffic light and was still a 4-way stop) on Dabbs Bridge Rd and my hubby saw one at the elementary school here on 61 a
  7. Do you happen to live up Hwy 61 near the airport? I saw something that looked like a dead while pig sort of thing lying on the side of the road across from the airport this afternoon. Also, son-in-law and I saw a coyote running along the railroad tracks near the hospital in Dallas Monday night.
  8. Keep reading.....Walmart actually found a syringe in kids socks and another customer found one in a pair of pants - but Walmart did not turn those into the police until after the two people were stuck. http://acworth.11alive.com/news/news/92506-syringes-found-inside-clothes-cartersville-walmart-store
  9. So sad and so young to leave so many children behind. Prayers for the family!
  10. This is very disturbing since, as you know, I am your neighbor and this hits very close to home! I had heard about the drfters/squatters over on Old Cartersville Hwy but was not aware that the PCSD had said anything to anyone in Windmill about them. Please let me know if you hear of anything else of that nature. And prayers being said for the family of this person!
  11. Uh, yeah! How many friends or family members have you lost or nearly lost to prescription drug overdoses??? How many families have you seen destroyed or nearly destroyed because of pain pill addictions??? These are the small businesses that need to be shut down. And I am sure this is just a small percentage of the pill mills in the local area. I know of several more that should be shut down - hope they are on the list for the next raid!
  12. WOW - Congrats on the credit! I guess the old saying about the squeaky wheel getting the oil has some truth to it.
  13. Would you be willing to take another growling, snarling little rat/bat? I have one that was literally dumped on me and Hubby and I are looking to move and just cannot take all of these animals with us. Some of them are going back to their original Dad but the little rat/bat will have to move on.....
  14. WOW, I bet we are neighbors. And my hubby is always telling me not to leave our dogs outside alone. And my other neighbor has small children so I definitely will be passing this info along to them.
  15. I have never heard anything good about the place that you mention - only negative feedback. I have a relative who filed bankruptcy several years ago and when they needed a vehicle they went to US Auto Sales (they are owned by Suzuki). I'm not sure if they are a buy here/pay here place but they do finance. He bought a truck, paid it off and is still driving it today. Of course, he has had to perform regular upkeep and minor repairs (oil changes, brakes, etc.) but truck is still running good. I would check around and not just go to the closest place for convenience. Not sure where yo
  16. Yes, I am sorry for hijacking your thread - I certainly didn't mean any disrespect. My prayers go out to everyone on here who has lost a loved one.
  17. Do they have a website or can you give me directions. I would like to take my Grandson next weekend.
  18. WOW, I had no idea. I think my Hubby and I bought a big-screen TV from you. What a small world. And your sister (and your entire family) have really had a lot of heartache in your lives. I am really sorry to hear about your husband. I lost my Dad to cancer at the age of 31yrs old and my Mom to lung cancer at the age of 65 along with numerous other family members. I think cancer is our family's cross to bear in this life. Please let your sister know that my daughter, Wendy and I offer our condolences to her. I never really knew her although I do think we met a couple of times.
  19. OMGosh was your son Brian? If so, my daughter was good friends with him when they were younger. She just found out about his accident about a month ago. He was such a sweet guy and had the most beautiful eyes. It was like they would just sparkle when he looked at you - and you never knew exactly what he was thinking, if you know what I mean. In the event that Brian wasn't your son, I am still very, very sorry for your loss and everyone else on here who has lost a child. That is a loss that I have come very close to on several ocassions but thankfully have not experienced yet. I w
  20. You are a wonderful person, Mrs Jack Russell and I can so easily see you in that situation and know that you did all you could without giving it a second thought.
  21. I have a niece who attempted suicide here in Paulding and basically the same thing happened. We were speeding and stopped - we explained what was happening, he took one quick look inside the car and escorted us down 381 to Paulding Hospital. Of course, this was approx. 20 years ago...
  22. Oh, I'm sure - he was definitely a "celebrity" in that area. I saw him at a birthday party for one of my other Uncles about a month ago. I didn't know that he started the Dallas Memorial Gardens until reading his obit.
  23. Herb was my Grandfather's first cousin - imagine how surprised I was to see this on PCom. RIP!
