  1. Yesterday and today was OUT OF THIS WORLD huge event for Oprah...tomorrow, anyone's guess.
  2. Did ya'll see that stormchaser??? The dang lightpoles NEXT TO HIM are being snapped like twigs.
  3. He's actually a big musician in Atlanta, some of you may know of Swami Gone Bananas. Anyways, I'll admit - I smiled at the sheer hippie-ness.
  4. Well, maybe not ever. But it's still pretty rockin'. http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/atlanta/obituary.aspx?n=gary-dreyfuss&pid=151264832
  5. I put this in the SVB thread too. I'm not a fan of the "clientele". People need to teach their kids how to swim. Seeing teenagers in a life jacket creeps me out. Not to mention that if they even get a hint that they may drown (say when the wave pool starts back up after being turned off for a security check), you betta watch out. You'll want to go very early if you want a chair, real early. We never had problems with our stuff, but we never took anything in that we wouldn't mind getting stolen. Lines and all that come with the territory, but if your kids aren't into rides, SVB is a much b
  6. Oh, I will add that SVB is in need of some repairs. If I decide to get them this year, and have to now pay for a parking pass - I want to see some improvements to the place. Preferably the crumbling concrete and PEST CONTROL.
  7. We were season pass holders to SVB last year, the parking is a new thing! we don't like the crowds, the, um, questionable attendees at white water, not having chairs, etc. SVB is free drinks, kids are always in eye sight, there's a place to actually swim, bring your own food, easily get in and out, etc. I've had season passes to both, now I have a NC-17.
  8. I agree. I have several friends that participate in alternative lifestyles. That said, every one of them has come close to divorce due to it. Those "ground rules" are never adhered to and what starts out as a little fun ends up in hurt feelings. Still, to each their own. I'm just still continuously shocked at availability of these things. Maybe we should really blame the internet - since that probably is the true access point. As for the work thing, yes, that's true, and a good point. I'd say marital neglect is just as damning as infidelity. I can't relate since my SO is on the road
  9. I was talking to a friend in London about this, actually about internet porn, but this is where the subject went - do you think that deviant sexual behaviors are contributing to the decline of marriages? I mean, if you've ever been to an adult internet site, you can find ANYTHING. Once upon a time, sex clubs were UNDERGROUND...and a strip club, if they existed, were not where couples ended up after a Friday trip to the movies. So, America is at at least a 50% divorce rate and infidelity it out of control. According to my friend, the UK is the same but they don't have near the debauch
  10. Let's hope no children result from this behavior. Or legal fees. That's all.
  11. If you buy it at the $500 price, do you have to go to Rodney's? Can you accept pay pal? Who is Lori Paul?
  12. There's some ballers out there. For sure. With great taste in champagne.
  13. I think you should edit your post to read "the majority of US babies". Again, do your research. The WHO lists the average age of weaning globally at age 4.
  14. Any mom that nursed will tell you that "comfort nursing" comes with the territory. It's not a habit as much as it is comfort, say, only at bedtime. They don't necessarily NEED the milk, but it's the act of nursing that soothes the child. If you're not comfortable seeing a woman nurse, this idea will creep you out even more - but, it's no different than a binky or blanket if you look at boobs as what they're there for - nursing. Our society has made them into a sexual object. Boobs, like hips, were once a sign of strength and fertility - now they're filled with silicone and paraded around in ma
  15. That should have read OFF US soil. You can breast feed modestly. I used a nursing cover. If seeing a person wearing one of these in a mall offends you...apologies.
  16. "Self induced" means not complying with taking meds...unfortunately it's a side effect of the disorder. Try to imagine that you think you're perfectly sane and people are trying to make you take drugs that make you feel terrible. I'm not excusing a crime. Not even a little. But, it's not as if he's choosing to not be on meds because he WANTS to harm people. He really believes he doesn't need them - in the same way that you or I believe that we're mothers. He likely will, and probably should, end up in the legal system where they can force medication but it's not the ideal treatment e
  17. I know many people dislike her, but these farewell shows are killing me. Today's show has me SOBBING. I have watched her forever - I'm only 33, so literally forever. I will miss her.
  18. I can't tell you the many, many 2 years olds I've seen still taking a bottle.
  19. This really makes me mad. First, there will always be a health benefit to mother's milk over cow's milk - regardless of age. It was made, specifically, for a child and is perfectly created for this purpose. I won't even get into the emotional benefits to the bonding that occurs from breast feeding. A child will naturally wean, often by 1 or 1.5, but it's far more damaging to force a child to wean than it is to breastfeed until natural weaning occurs. Sadly, America is one of just a few countries in the world that doesn't encourage and accept breastfeeding. Most other countries breastfeed until
  20. I'm still trying to figure out how it's physically possible to grow 10 inches (the requirement for LOL donation) of hair in a year?
  21. I'm pretty sure East Paulding Drive is still a drag strip.
