  1. I'll be gone for 6 months! I'm not going to move a 5BR house for 6 months.
  2. I've never been a landlord, the thought makes me want to hurl, but I need to rent my house out, fully furnished, for 6 months. Any suggestions on how to do this? Are there relocation companies that might have a family that needs a house - say until they find one to buy?
  3. Wheew. I missed a lot, huh? So, child support isn't a factor here, I'm not really sure where that came in at all. Money, visitation, etc. is also not an issue as I would ensure that he was able to visit as often as possible - in both directions. And, I may not go for a full year, but opt to go, sans child, for 6 months. All of this is being negotiated. I was pretty thrilled that my ex was cool with it - and surprised. In the grand scheme of things, we are AWESOME co-parents. While I HATED being away from my son for 3 weeks earlier in the year, we, as people, have to balance what's in
  4. Right, so I've sent him a note to see if this would even be something he'd be willing to discuss. IF he responds (he loves to just ignore my emails that he doesn't want to start an argument), I really don't think he'll just say, "great opportunity - go have a good time". I'd have to be able to go end of August.
  5. I really don't know if I could do this, because it did cross my mind. My son is 9 and he's getting to be a bit of a "little man", so he doesn't really need my *care*, but the idea of not being at baseball games and such, just breaks my heart to even think about. The opportunity probably won't come again, but, it's really only made more exciting by the idea of my kid being able to get some really cool cultural exposure for a limited amount of time.
  6. But, I've had a serious situation arise. I've been given the opportunity to go and work in England for a year. The salary is double, the perks are great, and I'm seriously considering doing it. I really think it would be an outstanding experience for my son to see another culture - his dad will not share in this. While his dad and I are very friendly, he won't be keen on this idea. Do you guys have any advice? Am I crazy to want to take him over there for a year?
  7. No, jen, I mean a truly don't know how you're upright and breathing.
  8. I'm really not quite sure how you survive without a smart phone.
  9. I don't know why, but this image disturbs me. Can I just email my confession? Do you think that we'll have another weinergate? Oh, I get excited at the possibilities! eta: the articlefor you other sickos
  10. Today's pet peeve: Emailing "thank you" or "you're welcome" and nothing else.
  11. By home, I mean NC-17's house. I'm free all weekend.
  12. I'm going home for the weekend....
  13. I'm a "dater" - well, now I'm in a serious relationship - but I used to have 3 or 4 dates a week. I have a go to date, which had me having quite a rep for a while! First date only during the week Only meet at Rays on the River for a cocktail If the conversation is going swimmingly, he needs to ask me if I want to take it to dinner OR have a reason why he's not I would go out with anyone and preferred to do it as quickly as possible since it's was always just an hour.
  14. I prefer fire fighters...but, NC shares hers with me. And my real preference is rich sales professionals. I only date people in sales, isn't that odd?
  15. Can someone let me know when something exciting happens? I'm going to Pandora for now.
  16. So, will it help me with weight loss?
  17. I hate those stupid signatures that say..."Please think of the environment before printing this email." It makes me want to print it out of spite. As if that signature is going to guilt me into some sort of environmental crusade or that my ONE piece of paper is going to mitigate the tremendous depletion of natural resources around the globe. That's all. What's yours?
  18. I actually think that "newbie, get off my nuts" was pretty funny.
