Immigration to the US
dumbestgirlintheworld replied to dumbestgirlintheworld's topic in RECENT TOPICS
He's in sales management, so I'm not sure how that works. Honestly, it seems easier to come over if you're a migrant worker than a professional! I did suggest trying to get into a company with an international presence and then coming over via an opening that way. But, I think he wants to move sooner. -
I am trying to help a friend move over from England. Should I connect him to an immigration lawyer? Anyone have any advice on which direction to point him? I've already sent the links to the web information - of course, he's looking for the quickest way to get over here.

Um, I live off the EW at Barnes Mill and I don't have any problems. I'll admit that I HATE the people at the Wal-mart near my house and I am indeed on the fringe of the hood, but sheesh...I'm also 15 minutes from downtown Atlanta! A little diversity is to be expected! -

The water is too cold so it won't hold any strength by the time it gets up there. As someone that has been in MANY hurricanes, a cat2 hurricane is just a bad storm and a few broken tree limbs. In any case, I need her to hurry up with it already. I'm in NYC next week. -
AL is in town? WTH? And I haven't seen you in forever, Steph. Oh, and I NEED to see that baby. Bring him over and let me love on him, will you?

Leave the office early. We want to head over before traffic.

Why? Didn't look like a big line at the light. -
Does anyone else have this problem?

You should really encourage them to thwart the modern convenience of jeans and only wear clothes made of patched together organic hemp that they've sewn together by hand whilst listening to the Cornell '77 Grateful Dead show. -

We don't have this problem because of uniforms, but we do have issues with doing hair, etc. We leave when we leave, everyday. My only advice is to maybe set a timer? When my son was that age, all "punishments" were done to timers which makes the timer the bad guy instead of the parent. So, when she gets up, set the timer for 10 minutes - she has that time to decide and she can speed up as she watches the time tick by. -
You first saw "the internet"?

I now carry homeowners, but prior to that I always had renters insurance. I think it cost about $100- $150 bucks a year. No brainer.

Hmm, let's see. We can make a pretty good assumption that putting all your personal business on the interwebs means that you want some attention, this includes but is not limited to, Facebook, Am I Hot or Not, and message boards.

WOW! The riots here are really, really bad. Most of the burning and looting has calmed, but it's pretty tense on the streets. Last night I was out and there was a chav making a movie about "racism at a certain club". The tension made me nervous. There are certainly more youths hanging about than in the past, just seem like their waiting. The news is wild. The police are everywhere. I'm not scared as even the scariest places in London pales to much of what I've seen in Atlanta, but it's very strange round these parts.

You're right. I'm working for a UK company and actually have more security then I've ever had as a result of their structures. It's damn near impossible to get fired in the UK.

With what? I don't know about you, but I had to take a significant salary decrease just to be employed. I'm lucky to still add to retirement. Only to lose tens of thousands of dollars in days.

And this is why I need to know where you live. I'm stocking up the MRE's, you have the ammo, we'll put a cache somewhere between here and Montana and we'll be all set for the zombie apocolypse.

And if anyone take investment advice from pcom, they deserve the outcome.

Fun questions? There is nothing fun about morning sickness or pregnancy - heck, I'm not even convinced that the kids are any fun.

We're down 300 points a day - "technically" a crash. Anyone else fearing the worst?
