  1. This is CHINESE culture, it has nothing to do with Apple. Steve Jobs had no influence, and likely less insight, into the operations of Foxconn, which by the way is an independent technology company that produces a variety of electronics. Also, it's important to note that Apple did a full audit of the working conditions. Apple is a giant and I hate the proprietary dictatorship of their products, but it was a brilliantly successful move on the part of jobs - he should be recognized for that.
  2. Let her do it with small jewelry. It's not permanent.
  3. You mean 200 years ago? The English have shoes older than that, and they will remind you of it every chance they get!!!
  4. I'm leaving for London on Sunday and will be there for my birthday. I thought it might be fun to try to find some nawlins' style food for my bday dinner (where I'm from). There's not much, but there is this place. http://www.oldorleans.com/home/food I loved reading the menu!!! "Y’all Get Sharin’ Y’hear?!" "Louisiana Sampler The best of everything Southern an’ then some! Juicy chicken breast skewers, cheese & bacon skins, coconut shrimps, onion rings, pork mini ribs, garlic bread and the sweetest corn-on-the-cob with BBQ sauce and sour cream dips." - are you serious? I'
  5. The tributes are quite touching. 7000% rise in stock since Jobs return to Apple.
  6. What do you consider "smart" The most stable pharma on the market with billions (and the most consistent dividend payments in HISTORY) in sales that has gone completely paperless in giving sales and exec management ipads to reduce print costs? He was genuis. I'm pretty happy to have my son study the brillence of people like Jobs, whatever their "worth".
  7. Neither of you own an Apple, fairly certain. As the director of marketing, loss of a capitalist brilliant mind.
  8. Lots of people have been fired, Jerry Seinfeld, Walt Disney, Henry Ford...from their own companies.
  9. As a technology professional for the last near 20 years, I was PROGRAMMING on Apple computers LONG before ipods came out. You might want to do a little research on Mr. Jobs. Capitalist? YES. Pioneer? YES. He started the DOS days of Apple before I was born and then took a failure of a company to new heights. RIP, Steve, you were not only an inventor but a re-inventor and someone that should be held in great (albeit opportunist) regard!
  10. Oh, there is SO much more... SO SO much!! Y'all stay tuned!
  11. Our children will learn of his genius in economic classes to come. Really, really sad.
  12. I think that the pillow needs to come to the pcom office.
  13. I'm on the fence with tests - you should know and prepare for tests. With HW and other such benign things, I think there should be some forgiveness. For instance, I share joint custody of my son with my ex. If the teacher sends home his spelling words, sometimes they will stay at his dad's and he won't realize it until Monday - the day he has to write his spelling words for homework. I'd hate to see him fail because of our situation - and his teacher understands and allows him to write his 5 times each after he's finished with his other work.
  14. Nope - but I should, as my family eat and sleeps baseball. I have, however, spent the last hour reading about him and I'm eager to watch him blossom into the kind of douchebaggery not seen since the days of John Rocker *wipes sentimental tear*.
  15. And then he blows out an Achilles and that's the end of his career. Knowledge can never be taken from you. And let's be really honest, if you're the next Bryce Harper, they're making in damn near impossible for you to fail.
  16. Look up the word recreation: rec·re·a·tionNoun/ˌrekrēˈāSHən/ 1. Activity done for enjoyment when one is not working. If you're grades are failing, you should be working on them. Further, if your grades are failing, you get no enjoyable activities until you bring them up. Simple as.
  17. How proud her parents must be! Is it just me, or does she look like she has a bit of "junk" http://cdn.photos.tmz.com/gallery_images/images/2011/10/courtney__0009_ADTJ_KALV15092911A_103_full.jpg
  18. It helps if you're bullied in school. A firm chip on your shoulder is a must. Then a love for firearms, making women cry and a decent hypocritical lifestyle are all beneficial, but not required. I'm kidding!!
