  1. I just want to know how you got his license plate if he was going so fast!
  2. This is so hard...Further Fest 2000 in Live Oak is way up there in terms of overall experience. Jonny Lang equally blew my mind the first time I saw him when he was just 16. Railroad Earth never disappoints. I guess my favorites that others would know would be Stevie Wonder at last years Jazzfest, so fun! And Tom Petty has a lot more talent in concert than ever comes across on his discs. ETA: The most spiritually moving for me was 4/1/01 WSP in Athens. They sing a song called Mercy -- I closed my eyes and begged for it. AMAZING.
  3. Good points - until you apply it to law enforcement. They work within the confines of the law, except when they WANT to let you go for speeding. Everyone loves to say that people should play inside the rules, but then an Octomom happens and they suddenly want to say that they had a "professional responsibility". This guy claims (no matter what his real intent is) that he's not doing it to prevent interracial marriage but to protect the children of interracial couples from unfair treatment. Regardless, he's applying his judgment to his occupation. I agree that he should probably just
  4. I was thinking about this today...I need to get a chimney sweep out, but, I'm wondering if it would cost more to have them sing chim chimeny chim chimeny chim chim charooooooo while he does it.
  5. I'm just wondering why this is different than anyone else. A doctor can choose not to perform an operation, a bartender can cut someone off, a police officer is given all kinds of discretionary privilege...why can't this man choose to refrain from marrying people that he feels will produce children with a harder time making it in the world? A fertility doctor can choose not to help a couple that both carry genes that may result in a abnormality. I don't agree with him personally, but doesn't he have the right of refusal? I mean, he is, supposedly, joining together 2 people for the mo
  6. YESS!!! But you know AJ was killed last week, right? It's weird to see him as such a HUGE part of the show! Nov 5 comes the OC!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Gretchen! LOVE HER! I.can't.wait.
  7. Thank you for posting this!! I'm glad to see that there are supporters of our children and our scouts! I'm relieved to that school system did the right thing. Our children are PEOPLE, people need to determine punishments, not policy.
  8. According to CNN, the door was open when the balloon landed.
  9. Danka. Never had a desire to go to Vegas, but this'll get me there.
  10. Dude -- did you really piss on the guide stones? I am so incredibly happy that our youth is waking up... Now get back to class.
  11. Seriously??? You can't say Garth Brooks in the title? Garth Brooks - The Wynn Las Vegas
  12. I think that this is a joke...but it must have gone over my head cause I don't get it. BUT, c'mon, Garth out of retirement?! I grew up on his music. And his performances are so fun!
  13. Oh wow! Oh wow! I can't wait! It looks like Garth Brooks will be doing a run at the Wyn in LV. I'm so freaking THERE! One of my favorite concerts of all time! http://entertainment.blogs.foxnews.com/200...ing/?test=faces
  14. DR...Loft has some cute ones too, and there's one of those off Dallas Hwy.
  15. Helllo!!! And how about this number for this year's holiday parties!!
  16. And they're having a great sale right now... I'm guessing you're looking for this look? It's all over the place right now, and I love it!! Not to mention, it's versitile! peep toe booties are a glam look, or you can pair it with tights, mid-calf boots and a great scarf for a fresh fall look. Erg - now I want to shop.
  17. HOW DID I MISS THESE?? These are seriously fun. Wow - that kid has some talent too!! Great job, as always, lady!
  18. Short answer is yes. Longer answer is that sometimes it makes sense to finance. For instance, when a company offers zero percent for a year (this was the deal when I bought a new bedroom and dining room). The trick is that if you don't pay it off at the end of the year, you're screwed. We had the money, we just chose to keep it in something that was earning us money for that year. We paid it off in full on month 12. Makes more sense than giving cash to the business for that year, right? We also put everything, everything, on our credit card. It's paid in full at the end of the month,
  19. Opposition Equally Crazy, fabulous anarchists For fun...the Hope Diamond
  20. That was a good thing to do, and a good time to do it. BUT, not everyone can pull out - ie, those with restricted stock that comes as a portion of their compensation. Ride the wave - I'm tellin' ya, if we see the banks take holiday...we're all screwed. I'd stick it all under the mattress if I could!
  21. THANK YOU!! I have a share site (that our family website), but I'm glad to know that I can get a CD!
  22. You'll be hard pressed to talk me into the stock market being anything more than a glamourous roulette wheel - but, it's driven by momentum. A number of domestic companies have made international acquisition this quarter...globalization is strategic and essential and it's going to open up markets with less front end investment. The conspiracy theorist in me says that this is very scary...but chances are that I'll be dead before we have to concern ourselves with a true 1984 situation. In the meantime, it's better to burn out than to fade away...so here's to 14,000 (or 9,458) by q210!
  23. Sadly...$8.80 will only get the stock back to where it was 16 months ago. BUT, at least it's a start. Companies have opened up their budgets for 2010 and they're forecasting higher sales revenue. These are good signs. My company, which is small with a stagnent stock, actually had their largest quarter in history - nearly 80 years in business. I'll admit that I'm concerned about a double dip in the economy, but that's just because I'm a motley fool that generally leaves that stuff to the professionals. I'm celebrating up, and I firmly believe that what you put into the universe
