The service was called Webvan and they delivered just about anything. Unfortunately, I think that they were a little before their time. I wonder how it will do? Grocery delivery/personal shopping is quite popular in urban areas, but I also feel that if I'm going to drive there - may as well just go in and grab what you need.

The political forum is nothing more than a handful of people, eventually, calling people names. I respect the structure of the board as it is designed, however. With that said, can anyone recommend other forums on georgia politics that I can investigate to see if there's more of a fit for my needs?

I suppose that it's just a shame that pcom, with the r3each and audience, cannot be a source of information for a political novice the day before an election. Seems like pcom wants to cover the news? All I'm saying, is maybe give a little leeway for some politico in the cafe the week of an election. the mods may have to work a little harder, but isn't it worth it to think of pcom as being a source of information for those that want to make informed voting decisions?

Pubby - I decided to post this instead of sending it in private in hopes that some paying members might back me up (I'm not one). I posted, in the political forum, for feedback on Karen Handel with regards to very specific questions. Since she is the front runner and a republican, I thought for certain that my questions would be answered. I got 1 reply and 1 one opinion. I must say that I think that this is the case because the political forum has gotten completely out of hand. No real information is exchanged, just opinion and nasty comments between the dozen or so active participant

The fundraiser piece was a bit unexpected. I guess I'm going to have to go to the grandparents to earn an extra grand throughout the year. I'm not concerned about the dancing or 6" rule yet, but I'm worried that my son's favorite movie is the bad news bears.

I've written and retyped this 3 times now. This is America, a capitalist society. She sold you a product. You bought the product. She used the profits from that sale as she saw fit. Because you didn't like how she spent her profits, you felt entitled to a refund? You allowed yourself to make an impulsive buy based on emotions. Next time, if I may suggest, pass on the flowers and just give her a donation. Know that donation comes from YOUR heart and understand that selfless act is what counts, not what's done with it after you've given.

So, apparently the school says that if you do not participate in the financial giving during fundraisers, you are "encouraged" to increase your tuition by 10%. There's also a laundry list of lifestyle choices that are apparently "discouraged", like dancing and R rated movies and non-christian music and any kind of affection. This will be a VERY interesting year.
