Simple question about health care.
dumbestgirlintheworld replied to BubbaDoo's topic in RECENT TOPICS
My numbers were taken from the NHS and NICE websites, respectively. They are NOT skewed. -
Courtney and Doug are getting a divorce!! And I think that the devastation of this failed marriage is causing her to self mutilate. #savecourtney

Simple question about health care.
dumbestgirlintheworld replied to BubbaDoo's topic in RECENT TOPICS
No. Not at all. The UK's wait time for cancer suspicion is 2 weeks. To me, this is unacceptably long, however. You must have nerves of steel to be perfectly okay with a doctor telling you that they want to rule out cancer and then asking you to wait 2 weeks to do so. Perhaps I should learn to chillax. -

64% of Britain's population is on government benefits. Do you really think that they have the money for supplemental healthcare? -

I also had an ER visit for a ruptured cyst. THankfully, you didn't have problems. Tell me, why were you having an ultrasound? -

When these come up, I have to laugh because Americans have no idea how good they have it. I had a Canadian friend bring his 10 year old to the states for his cancer treatment, because the Canadian system wanted him to wait. I also have a SIL in the UK that is dying from brain cancer - in a ward. Her incontinence care and tender moments with her husband are currently shared with 3 other people...she's been like that for 3 months. Want to have a baby? I'm attaching a picture of a friend. This is how you labor - with at least 3 other women in your labor room. When and if you get an epid -

Lis Hasselbeck can choke on it...

Not for corporations - and I'll tell you why. The only way to punish a corporation is in their wallet. Because of this, they will put in place much stricter guidelines to avoid this happening again. If there was no financial ramifications, they know that the American public has a short memory and they would wait out the storm and emerge no worse for the wear. But when you start taking from their bottom line, and there is even a small chance of a heft future penalty - by golly, they'll change things. REmember, there is no soul in a corporation. People that work there might feel badly -
Elisabeth Hasselbeck might have ruffled a few feathers with her comments on Fox & Friends regarding Penn State’s settlement with victims of former defensive coach/serial child rapist Jerry Sandusky, saying that the 26 recipients “decided to ride the gravy train” in accepting $59.7 million from the institution. “You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to follow the money on this one,” Hasselbeck said, adding that “no victim of sexual assault should receive more than half a million dollars at the absolute most. She said that while she “not one to start blaming victims,” she called th

I hadn't read that about Reed and Delta. I wouldnt' worry too much about it - those are deep pockets so I don't think that you'll see any commercial flights there any time soon. -

We don't go to circuses or zoos. We do, however, go to sanctuaries. It was one of the most difficult films I've ever seen. CNN will be airing it again on Nov. 2

Has anyone seen it? This film was shocking and disturbing and SeaWorld will NEVER get a PENNY from me. Ever.

Rumor of Extra Cops and Roadblocks This Weekend
dumbestgirlintheworld replied to UnknownComic's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I've always found this funny. The purpose of road blocks is to catch people drinking and driving/doing things illegally and to, ultimately, increase safety for all. Announcing a roadblock is a bit like announcing a pop quiz. I'm not entirely sure how this is a violation of your rights - they still cannot search you if there is no probable cause. Stopping you is not the same as searching. -
My sister gets food stamps. My niece goes to a private school paid for by the government. They are both on free medical. And she just bought a $20K car with a settlement that she got from an accident. She's 26 and has only worked 3 days ever in her life (she was fired). I hate it. The ONLY thing you can do is try not to read these kinds of stories. Just plug on and don't worry about the moochers of the world.
