  1. Those are the inconvenient FACTS that she CHOOSES to ignore.
  2. I apologize, I thought it was your mother. You used the example as a fact of someone who could not get out to get an ID. Now you state that she did have an ID, because she used to drive. I used as an example someone who never drove, yet managed to not only have an ID, she also managed to volunteer at the polling places. And, yes this was my mother who passed in 2004. I never stated anything to do with fraud. I do think that if I have to show ID for everything else, then something as important as voting, should have an ID requirement. After all there was a time when you had to prove (another
  3. Seriously??? Dude, get a grip, if your mom wants to vote bad enough, and it means that much to her then she (if you aren't willing to help) will find a way. My mom didn't cash checks, have a credit card, check into hotels, drive a car, etc. yet she had an ID. She even worked the polling places. So, just stop, you lost with your mom as an example.
  4. Actually there were some women, depending on the state that could vote before the 19th amendment. http://constitutioncenter.org/timeline/html/cw08_12159.html According to wikipedia, there were 4 states that allowed freed slaves to vote. There really is no reason that anyone cannot get an ID. Heck my mom who did not drive, still managed to have an ID, and work the polls. God rest her soul. If it is important enough to someone no matter what it is they WILL find a way to get it done.
  5. Donna is a wonderful woman. I haven't seen her in while, I may need to come!!!
  6. The extra curriclures (sp,) I understand. I would expect that, but regular school stuff? I think most of y'all missing the FACT that we don't mind getting extra. What we mind is the "required" "mandatory" thing. I can truly say that most of the folks I know will go out of their way to help some one truly in need, but when folks won't help themselves that's where the issue starts.
  7. DS was I daycare, and they just transitioned them as they moved through the center. He went to Discovery Point (IMO the best daycare!!.) He started off in the infant room then just progressed. All the way through to Pre-K.
  8. I will deferre to brown eyed girl for that. We're at South Paulding, truthfully I think they are AWSOME!!
  9. You will be OK. (Save this for me next year) We have survived middle school so far. Which school is going to? You can PM me.
  10. A #10, or 15 scaple blade works better when doing necropsy.
  11. I think they get them then, at least they did last year. After they give you the map, and schedule you get to go to the classes. Sometimes the teacher will have the supply list for that class. I really wish they would let us know before hand. DS will be going to school with just the basics, for bout a week. This momma don't do crowds.
  12. I'll have to send her a PM, and make sure it's OK to publish. Wonder if he (the victim) was confused? Maybe someone hit him, and the two guys were helping him, and he got it all mixed up?
  13. This was on my FB today. My son was walking home on East Paulding drive last evening around six when someone(s) threw an object at his head out of the window of a black bronco or blazer. My son was knocked unconcious and fell on the side of the road. Someone witnessed this and called 911. THANK YOU whoever you are. My son is fine. Concussion, black eye and swollen right side of his face. Who the hell does that? I don't know if this was the incident, but here ya are.
  14. Seems like these pencils have started to become the norm now. They were "new" when my youngest was having problems with his writing. Keep in mind he is now in the 8th grade. Maybe they saw enough benefit with the kids that had problems, that the teachers figured the "new" style pencils were better.
  15. Yes, I'm not sure when that changed. When the two older ones started school it was the fat pencils. That was in the 80's. Then when youngest started 8yrs ago, I thought it strange that they changed.
  16. Tell him to get some fishing line, and clear thumb tacks. He can tie the line to the fighters, and such, then hang them from the ceiling with the tacks. Yes, my oldest did this with his airplane models. He even had one that he used a cotton ball will black on it to make it look like it had been hit. We thought that was very cool. Only time I have been thankful for popcorn ceilings.
  17. All 3 of mine were/have been car riders (there was one year that we lived across the street from the school) until THEY decided that they wanted to ride the bus. I tend to pick my battles, and riding the bus would not be one of them. 13yr old is in a club that meets on Friday mornings, I take him on that day. As far as the pencils, we went through that when, now 13yr old was in elementary school. It has something to do with fine motor skills, and is easier for the kids.
