I wasn't asking about them being charities. There are some things that happen in life that take precedance over mowing the lawn. I was just wondering if they would help a neighbor out in a pinch if they couldn't do it themselves right away.

So basically they are just there to make sure that a certain element doesn't move in. So what happens when a family has more cars then garages?

I'm not at my laptop right now, so I can't look it up. We see/hear all these horror stories about HOAs, are there any stories about them helping any of the homeowners when something bad happens? Like helping a family that may have lost a parent? Or an elderly homeowner with their lawn care. Stuff like that.

LOL Funny thing is that they are the same type of people who complain about the booster clubs, the PTA, the youth coaches etc. But they never step up when they have the chance to change things. That is IF you live in an HOA controlled neighborhood. As for the rest of us, I know I see how miserable my friends and family that live in them are, so I know I sure don't want to be in one.

Although we would never live in an HOA controlled neighborhood, I have to wonder how many of the people are the same ones that complain about the kids coaches, booster club members etc. Are they the same ones that run the other direction when commenters are needed? Are they the people that always have something more important (like washing their hair) to do when the call hours out? Simply put if the ones who complain would step up and volunteer maybe there wouldn't be the control freaks running the show.

I've heard that Kahn is very good. If you know any middles schoolers that are in advanced math, or even a high schooler, they may be able to help. I had to get a high schooler to help my son last year. This year his teachers do tutoring in the AM and after school.

NJ yes it does. MNN, ask her teacher if she offers tutoring after school. Also check her teacher web page (that is if s/he uses it) there may be links to help for you there. OH, and for the ones who will come in. If you happen to think that parents are dropping off the high/middle school kids just because they don't want to ride the bus. I got news for you there's a good chance that the kids are being dropped off because of tutoring.

Before I say/call you I need to check with DS and Dd. They may want them both.

That's all most people want, but you know as well as I that there are those (even though they say they don't) who want all guns to be banned. You know there was a time when folks wouldn't give a second glance at someone with a gun. Kinda like no one gives a second glance at a kid with their pants around their knees, or a girl dressed like a prostitute. I guess it just depends on what your bombarded with as to what you will accept.

I would still be hot (no pun intended) It's the what ifs that the warranty doesn't cover. Cars are recalled (or parts) all the time because of the what ifs. Just sayin.

Husband forgot to take remove his weapon when he went to get gas one day last summer. He had it because he was working in the yard, and was on the look out for snakes. It certainly wasn't to draw attention to himself. I think that society has been brain washed to fear everything. I also truly believe that the terrorist are waiting for the day when we will be unarmed to take over. Of course there are some on this board that are so much like sheep they will gladly go to the slaughter, and thank their murders along the way.

So, I'm guessing that y'all would tell every combat veteran that has been diagnosed with PTSD that they can't carry. I'm also thinking that you would do the same for a rape victim (male/female) or how bout the battered spouse? I'm presuming that you would also ban these same people from owning knives, forks, or spoons (of any kind) baseball bats, hockey equipment, la cross equipment, and any vecheial (sp). After all they can all be deadly weapons. Just where does your overlord attitudes stop?

I have never heard of a washer doing that. I would be contacting SQ about any recalls for it. How many other washers has this happened to?

It almost passed last session, but something was added to it that killed it. News Junky would know about it.

What a bunch of chicken cheezes. I see some one with a weapon, I think "I really need h/im to move because I need to get to _________. " It's just like a woman carrying a purse. The only time I might notice it is if it is a really nice purse. Otherwise who cares.

I agree with the finding the reason for the pain, but for some cancer patciants (sp) the reality is that they will need the pain meds for as long as they either beat it, or pass away. For us that is where if we were having to rely on civilian doctors it would be a problem.

Would it be OK if we are late? Wrestling practice doesn't get done till 6:30.
