Question for parents/grandparents of school age kids

We have always printed our son's name on the inside sleeve of his jackets. Like big letters all the way down the sleeve. Funny how he never lost a jacket. Again I must live in a bubble. Oh, and I have his phone insured for theft, and such. -
Thank you God for my little bubble. I don't have any issues with Comcast. That's not to say at some point I won't, but for right now......Thank you God for my little bubble.

Gay Marriage: High Court Sets Stage for Historic Ruling

That's a good thing. Too many people approach history with the mindset of the time period they live in, instead of the time period they are studying. -
Gay Marriage: High Court Sets Stage for Historic Ruling
gog8tors replied to DomesticViolenceByProxy's topic in RECENT TOPICS
There was a time when you could jump over a broom, and you were married. Seriously I know gay couples that state they are married. Each calls the other by what ever name they deem fits. We all know this is about being able to claim each other on the tax forms, get insurance, and have rights of surviorship. Guess what they can already do all that. They could've have already done that before common law wasn't recognized. I truly don't recall having to state that I was a female when I was on my husband's insurance, when we were common law, I don't remember having to state my sex on the tax forms -

Then you agree that no one should have to get a license to get married. And, I do hope when you approach the Civil war era that you do with an open mind, understanding that just like in this subject the thought processes were not the same. -
Gay Marriage: High Court Sets Stage for Historic Ruling

Does everyone have to go to the court house to apply for a marriage license? Is that not a civil authority telling the church "you can't perform the rite of marriage w/o this piece of paper" thus requiring the couple to bow down to the gooberment to get married? So, based on what is most probley my flawed (according to some) logic, the gooberment has already overstepped it's boundaries in making couples get a license. I still say this is a moot point. If a couple holds themselves out as married, and the federal gooberment, insurance, and friends accept they are married, then they are married -

Don't know what it is, but it is very cool. The writing looks like it may be Hebrew. I have a friend that is Jewish that might could tell us. If there is some way for you to send the pictures to me I could pass them along to him, and see what he has to say about them. I also have a friend that is an anthropologist who may be able to help. -

It came off as snippy to me. Again the written word doesn't convey the intent. I know how common law marriage works, and in the state of GA it was recognized until 1996. -

I agree. But, there are other's who think it is the place of the gooberment to force people into a marriage contract that they recognize. Would the gooberment recognize a marriage contract issued by the church? I don't think so. But if it is on the "official" gooberment form then it is legal. -

Ah screw it, everybody should just be common law married. If one wants a religious ceromney (sp) that's between them and their church. Churchs and other's should not be FORCED to do anything against their religious beleifes. You want to live together? Then your married. You pay the same taxes as other married folk. After all isn't that what this is truly about? But you also have to get divorced the same. Before some wise ass brings up room mates. This applies to anyone holding themselves out as a couple. Boyfriend/girlfriend, partners type claims. You want to have kids together then your re -
