  1. My brother's (God rest his soul) name was Jackie Wade, and one of his sons is Travis Wade. ETA: I do hope the trees survive.
  2. DD finally told me what SIL wants, now I have to find it. Where does one get a juicer? And, how much are they? I will have to go to Game Stop for one more game, then to Villa Rica for one last thing for DH. Stocking stuffers are still needed. I think I'll be done on Jan 3.
  3. May the blessings of Chanukkah, be on you and yours.
  4. I'm going with he accidentally dropped the NOT part. I read it with the not, based on the beginning of his post. It's that whole reading comprehension thing.
  5. That was truly moving. Merry Christmas!!
  6. I never have liked SNL. I have always thought they were crass. Yes, even when they first started. I think that Tebow is praying that the game goes well, and that there are no injuries. Win or lose he will give God the glory, because that is how it is.
  7. At least one thing for the 5 adults. But the youngest (12) and the grand babies get spoiled rotten. We find out what the grand babies want at the top of their list. We let DD and SIL get the number 1 item then we try to get number two or accessories for number one. DD and DS do the same for their little brother, so we get number one on the list. Between all of us the kids get the most, and we get to enjoy the most important part of Christmas. Being together. I couldn't begin to know how much we spend because we all take notes (ok dd and I) and try to buy during the year.
  8. I don't know why. It was perfectly clear to me. You forgot victim.
  9. I know you, and your beautiful wife. Neither of you could ever be called a hypocrite. Why is it that we are encouraged to do well, and when we do we are horrible people? Why is it when making statements that we have been there, and really can relate, but instead of waiting for someone to give us a hand out we took the hand up, and are able to support our selves, because of that hand up. I will take this opportunity to thank Donald Trump. Thank you for hiring the security company to watch over not only Mara Largo, but also your children. If it weren't for you hiring the security compan
  10. That's a really good idea. I love how NPR can be continually posted, and it is the absolute truth. But, let some one post from FOX, and they are the extremest. Do you know how hard it is to find a reliable center source?
  11. And, you are correct. There is no way that we could make the same amount of money and have the same lifestyle in the DC/MD area. No more then if we were back in WPB, or if we lived in NYC. However (unless it has really grown) in Amarillo TX. We could live the same lifestyle, and have tons of money left over. It really does depend on where you live as to how much your lifestyle will cost you.
  12. Your right. The same ones who should have saved are the same ones screaming about how they are owed stuff. As far as my animals. 1. Thank God they are all healthy 2. I have worked in animal medicine, and can take care of most anything except for the big stuff. I also have a great vet. 3. HW prevention is Ivermectian. (never give w/o your veterinarians supervision) 4. Flea prevention, I have been very lucky, we only have to use it about every 6-8 weeks. It also helps that the active ingredient in Advantage and Frontline have come off patent and we can buy it in the generic.
  13. Not assuming anything. I was just making an observation. You are right a lot depends on where you live. Most of the time even the lowest entry level job will reflect this. I agree that letting your home go into foreclosure is a cop-out. Used to be that above all else you would a least save the house. Now a days, I wonder if people just look at it as "just a house" not "Home." Maybe that's the difference? There was a time when owning your own home was what you worked hard for. Seems to me, not so much anymore.
  14. You know I'm starting to think that some of you have NEVER had to struggle. You have no clue about how to survive. My family lifestyle today is a far cry from what it was when we first started out in life. Yet, we would still be considered "poor." Oh, and we would not be able to get help from the gooberment. If we were to lose some of the money we earn, we would simply cut back. The only things we NEED to support our family is food, clothes, and shelter. If we only had those things, nothing more, we would have a ton of money. We CHOSE to have full cable, full data plans for both of ou
  15. You couldn't? Wow, we have supported our family on less then that for many years. Right here in the Atlanta area. Maybe it's not about supporting your family, maybe it's supporting your lifestyle? :pardon:
  16. Ours did too. Yes, we are with the same co.
  17. I used to do this except I would give my list to DD. Now I just tell DH do not get me any clothing. Especially Jammie type stuff. DH wants a Jaw Horse. I will be headed to Lowe's soon. He will also get a Gold Panning kit, and the normal PJ pants, tee-shirts, etc.
  18. Thank you. Some will ignore that part, if you have read this whole thread. Truthfully that is the bigger issue to me.
  19. Very pretty dolls. I think they did a First lady collection. I also googled porcelain dolls, and how to tell if they are antique. There is a ton of information about how to find out if they are.
  20. We did the same thing. Except we were the ones being visited on Christmas morning. We always opened one small gift on Christmas Eve.
