  1. I do think a light is needed, especially during the busiest times. I'll keep a look out for the crappy school Scotty. I know it must be around here somewhere. Just not sure where you could be talking about.
  2. EMS friend said there is a fatality. Prayers being said.
  3. Those have been on for a Long time. I really wish they would get a new comical Commercial.
  4. Well it would be on Thursdays. Why $2.00 for one, and $30.00 for couples/family?
  5. I would love to know as well.
  6. Now that I have thought on it, I'm starting to think that you just have typing turrets. I now understand that folks should really feel sorry for you.
  7. Yea, my question was in reference to a relative.
  8. Just a quick question. What if a person passes in their home. Can the family have the body transported to the funeral home if they know where the deceased wants to go? I'm saying like it's an old person who died b/c of natural causes, and already has all the arrangements made.
  9. I love Dr. Beckford. No, she is not "in the area" but, well worth the drive to South Cobb. Just one question, is it the nurses or the doctor that is not listening to her? The reason is the nurses have a script for what they can say. IMO. My response is always "I'll talk with the doctor." Before any vaccines are given.
  10. What parent that has a menstruating daughter would not have maternity coverage? Way back 31 years ago my mom had it, just because she had 2 girls that were "of that age." And, we carried it on our daughter when she lived with us.
  11. I do suck at math, but I also talk with DS teachers about how I can help him. The last parent teacher conferance was with his math teacher. There was a poster with a problem on it. I realized that when I was in middle school I didn't understand the problem. It was kinda of weird that I looked at it, and understood it now. It was an algebra question, and I did not take algebra in school. I wonder if sometimes it is just a maturity thing.... I too worked as a cashier, we weren't allowed to use the change key. Matter of fact it was disabled. I get "the look" when I count my change to make su
  12. They tried to do the same with DH. I was/an with him at every appointment. I am the one that lets the doctor know that the medication is working or not. I have figured out that the support system must be as involved as the veteran. I am so sorry that your family has had to deal with this.
  13. As are all the programs at the VA, and Vet Centers. Like I stated, be careful of anything that encourages isolation. Not everything can be healed with touchy feel good "therapy." I did check out the web site. You need to understand BFL I have been there done that. I know a lot of people who have tried the web stuff. The fact is they still ended up where the help in the form of a real live person is. While this may be a tool that can be used, the vet still needs the guidance, and relationship of the professionals. Do you know that the traumatic events actually changes the brain chemistry
  14. Be careful of any program that encourages the isolation of the vet. As that is one of the major issues that affects the PTSD suffer, and their loved ones. There is not a one size fits all approach. This problem requires a professional relationship with a care provider.
  15. But, that's just it. Those of us who love them have to keep pushing them to get the help they need. So often the very people who should be the support are also the ones that enable the destructive behavior. Don't misunderstand me. If you know the person is on this path, and you know that they are a vet, please, please encourage them to get the help they need. If you are the spouse/SO of the person, you call, and set up the appointment. Make them go. http://www.ptsd.va.gov/public/understanding_PTSD/understanding_PTSD.asp Print out the symptoms. Check them off, tell the veteran you, and
  16. Yes, I have to get DS the book waiting at Dallas for him.
  17. Open house is July 30. Times TBA. http://schools.paulding.k12.ga.us/ischooldistrict/index2.php?district_ID=2
  18. There is help aviliable. Please encourage your family member to seek it out. But, you must know they are the ones who have to go, they are the ones who have to understand they are not alone. I have been living the nightmare of being the wife of someone who lives with PTSD for 26yrs. Here are some resources for the veterans, http://www.va.gov/ http://www.oefoif.va.gov/ http://www.ptsd.va.gov/public/pages/what-is-ptsd.asp http://www2.va.gov/directory/guide/vetcenter_flsh.asp http://veterans.georgia.gov/cartersville?vgnextoid=7b677c5c038f7210VgnVCM100000bf01020aRCRD&v
