Almost everything you hear about medicine is wrong!

Have you tried a chiropractor? I highly recommend it. Helped my youngest with his constant ear infections. -
That's LOL funny right there! My boss lives in MN and had to fly down here Thursday for a client meeting. He said it looked like he was flying into the Great White North!

There are still a ton of flights being canceled; the roads may end up being the least of his problem.

Simple, they ran into an invisible (cloaked) UFO.

Past Schedule? Is that the new "politically correct" term for delayed?

How frustrating! The same thing happened to us on my son's birthday last year. My grandmother had mailed him a card with a check in November...we got the card in February. It had been slit open with something sharp and then stapled closed! Thankfully the check was still in it. Guess they figured they couldn't cash it. Hopefully Amex can help your mom.

What a heartwarming story! It was very nice of you to insist the boy accept the $20. To the OP, glad you got your phone back!

Huh? Minor car accident, comment from at-fault driver's insurance

Thank goodness there are honest people out there, right? Apparently we came across two of them. Even while I was there, I kept envisioning all the horror stories I'd heard - like the ones above. I knew intellectually that I needed to stay and wait for the police, but when her insurance said she didn't have to wait it threw me for a loop. I did ask them about her possibly getting a ticket for leaving...their response was, "From our perspective, she doesn't have to stay. We don't know the law." -

Thank you! I called Precinct 1 earlier today and the woman who answered said exactly the same thing, except that she said I could get the form from any of the offices. I didn't make it by there today so I'm glad to know I can get the form online. She said I submit it to my insurance company...did I understand that right? (I haven't checked the link yet to see if there are instructions.) -

Thanks mei lan! I'm sorry for the loss of your father, and especially the circumstances. Even if it's been a while, I'm sure you miss him. -

Shoot, I had my digital camera with me (because of my son's Christmas pageant) and still didn't think to use it while we were in the road. A quick snap before we pulled into the parking lot would have prevented a lot of my worry. I had everything I needed yesterday....except my brain! -
Prayers and thoughts for the family at this difficult time.

Huh? Minor car accident, comment from at-fault driver's insurance

Thank you all for your advice! I called my insurance company last night and her insurance company this morning (I thought my insurance would contact hers and handle it, but they told me I needed to do it...). My insurance company suggested filing an incident report just so my statement is on record (sounds like the situation Sound Guy described). I am SO relieved to say, though, that her insurance company said she admitted fault. Think I'll still file an incident report, just in case. Lesson learned: BE PREPARED and don't let anyone else persuade me not to call or wait for the police. -
You have a doppelganger! lol We were at Living Hope Church.

Bleh, that's what I was afraid of. Tonight of all nights it had to happen! Thanks, btw -
Have you ever heard this? Is this right? I had another driver run into the side of my car as she was pulling out of Zaxby's on Old 41 and I was turning into the lot from Old 41 (both of us were making lefts, across each other). I was totally flustered b/c I needed to get food for the kids and then get them to my son's Christmas pageant so everything I know about what to do flew right out of my head. I finally managed to take her info, tried calling my insurance company (4 to 5 minute wait), called the police. She also called her insurance company...they told her she didn't have to wait th

Oh! Thank you for the reminder, I hadn't even thought of giving our chiro something (just started seeing him this year). Last year, I just taped an envelope with some cash to the top of our garbage can, but ours doesn't come that early so I was able to do it during the day...I probably wouldn't leave it overnight. I also live in the back of a quiet neighborhood.

Happy almost birthday! Total hijack, were you at a kids' Christmas pageant in Kennesaw tonight? (I don't know you but have seen your profile pic)

Really good question, I hadn't thought about that. I know how hard it would be for me to put my big ol' baby in the crib without a drop side. I hate to think of any sweet little babies suffocating b/c of their crib, though.

Whew, thank you, I was starting to think I was the only one who hadn't finished! I have started, but have a lot more to do and no ideas at all what to get for some people. Was planning on ordering the rest, but it's getting close to the shipping deadline.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20101215/ap_on_bi_ge/us_safer_cribs "It was a unanimous vote by the Consumer Product Safety Commission to ban the manufacture, sale and resale of the cribs, which have a side rail that moves up and down, allowing parents to more easily lift their child from the crib. The new standard requiring cribs to have fixed sides would take effect in June. The move by CPSC would also prohibit hotels and childcare centers from using drop-sides, though those facilities would have a year to purchase new cribs."
