  1. A lady in front of me at FL bought two 24 packs of beer (used cash to buy) along with her groceries which she used EBT for. If you have the $$ for beer you don't need food stamps.
  2. LR If you do decide to go to Philly Connection get it to-go. Every time we go there it is soo hot, like they don't use a/c! DH goes to West Metro and gets ribeye sliced thin and then we sautee it with mushrooms, onions and peppers. I get a take and bake loaf from kroger and add mayo, tomato, lettuce! So good.
  3. Anyone have the book "The Help" you want to sell?
  4. AMEN!!! I also heard that if you use your debit card as credit (don't enter a pin) then you aren't charged the $3.
  5. Thank you, that is great thing what you are doing!
  6. Thank you, it seems like it is common sense but obviously not. I have a smartphone as well, My phone calls go through the car so there is no reason to look at my phone. I just want everyone to be aware and I know it is so easy to get distracted, but there innocent lives that can be killed because of it.
  7. Please pay attention while you are driving a motor vehicle. There are men and women out there on the sides of highways trying to make a living for their families. DH was working on the side of the highway yesterday (they had two lanes blocked off), and his coworker was struck by a woman not paying attention while texting. This man's family now has to go on without him because she thought it was more important to text then to pay attention. Also, please do not stop and ask for directions from these men and women it is very dangerous.
  8. How much are the LED light bulbs and how soon can you get them?
  9. Nope DH's insurance plan document clearly states that EXACT statement!
  10. Yep I know that, that is why edited what I said, I thought at first she was talking about not having a job when she returns.
  11. Hmm to each is own I guess. The company DH works for pays maternity and paternity leave, but it is a big corporation. Why would they file it under STD instead of just issuing a paycheck at a reduced amount?
  12. Nope, there is no "help" put there except for welfare. Save your money from now on to be able to not work or live off the government. ETA: Being pregnant isn't a disability, she chose it. A disability is through no fault of the person and clearly she is at fault!
  13. Dh is good friends with his oldest daughter. We feel so badly for their sudden loss. He also had grandsons that won't be able to experience growing up knowing their grandpa! Prayers for the entire family.
  14. DH is required to, and did you know that if he starts CPR he has to continue till emergency personnel gets there or he can be prosecuted.
  15. Oh my gosh, that is very expensive! We have Lifewell & First Health Network (If our current doctors don't take Lifewell we have the option to go with First Health). Our plan now is $71.xx a week for employee + 1, with up to 4 additional "dependents" it goes up to $75.xx. So I guess we will stick with what we have. Our deductible is one per person per year, up to two per family per year. I didn't want this to go political, I truly wanted advice.
  16. I sent you a PM. We currently have $500 deductible per year for hospitals. $100 copay for er, $60 copay for specialist, $20 copay for primary. This just went up a couple months ago, this is why I am asking.
  17. DH and I pay about $280 a month in health insurance. We are in our 20's, non-smokers and are both healthy in good shape. $280 seems to be a bit much for us to pay, so is there better insurance out there if we go through an individual health plan as opposed through the company for which DH works now? How much do you pay and do you think it is worth it?
  18. DH and I went a couple weeks ago, it was okay. We both ordered the gyro salad, the salad was a good size but the meat was severly overcooked. I think we also got the worst waitress, everyone around us was getting such good service. We are trying the one on Thornton road tonight, so I will let you know how we like it.
  19. Thank you for the all the suggestions. We are taking it to Aamco at 8:30 in the morning. They check/diagnose the system for free. They said since it still blows then it is probably an easy fix. A rental for us is out of our price range. For four days it is almost $400 plus gas (We have to have at least 7 seats). It is a very sudden loss, which is what makes it so much harder.
  20. First off, my grandpa passed away early this morning from complications from his surgery he had yesterday. He has always had back problems, when he was 16 he was ran over by a car and lost half of his right leg, so he has always had to use crutches to get around which contributed to his problems. He never woke up from his surgery and was in the process of being transferred to an ICU hospital in hopes they could get him out of it. While in the ambulance, he stopped breathing and they tried for 30 mins when they got to the hospital, but nothing worked. They said he lost too much blood, and his h
  21. I would love some, if you have any left! Please let me know.
  22. Is this an everday special or just today?
