Not even a week after I posted that my dogs havnt had fleas, sure enough THEY HAVE FLEAS!!!!! ugh. not many but a couple, and I too am not a fan of giving my dogs anything that they don't need! Heartworm pill is the only thing they get, only because 3 other dogs in my neighborhood have contracted hw this year. They only go outside to go potty, or the occasional hike up a mtn or the sc trail. Will have to try one of the remedies mentioned above.

We have had many many clients come in this summer for fleas/flea allergy. Almost 90% of them use the comfortis pill for their pet. Personally, my dogs have not had a single flea since ive gotten them (1 dog we adopted in march this year and the other we've had for almost 4 years) And neither have been on a preventative. Im so suprised. I have also only seen ONE tick which was a week ago . We live close to downtown hiram, not an extremely wooded area, that helps.

Is that something you give your dogs as a preventative? Ive never heard of it. tia

Can you post a picture? I work at a vets office and we had 3 different people bring in dogs they have found today. One was a small black and brown dog. It was found on Brownsville road. Another one was a german shepard found on dallas highway. none of them were chipped.

Our town had sidewalks EVERYWHERE so i liked to walk or bike to my friends houses. 2 men in a truck asked if i needed a ride, and i ignored them and kept walking. (it was very common for strange hispanic men to ask, or honk, or whistle) They followed me. That is really odd. My moms phone, my bfs phone and my phone (all straightalk, all same android model) all 3 pay dates are the same. We werent able to pay right away and it normally will shut off at midnight. Not this time. We still had service for a few days (almost a month for my mom) only the caller ID was not working. We still dont have power in Rockmart. Went to the store before hubby left for work last night and there were/are trees and powerlines down EVERYWHERE!!! After trying to find my way around all of the blocked roads, trees in the roadway, and powerlines dangling, i was finally able to find a gas station with power. We have one car and my hubby takes it to work the night shift, so i was without a car, my phone died, no power, and no food that didnt require cooking. And i dont know ANYONE out that way yet. It was a scary night for me and my dogs. I live on a big hill and looking out the back door

It got really crazy out here in rockmart (278 past airport) Hail, rain, thunder lightning. Lasted about 10 minutes then it was gone. Now we have no power, and ive been hearing lots and lots of sirens since. Not sure whats going on out there.

I agree with this! I lived in ft myers/naples area for 15 years. My fiance lived there his whole life. (30 yrs) lots of traffic (snowbirds) and no jobs. We had to move back here to live with family because neither of us could find jobs and on the vurge of homelessness. It stinks because his kiddos are still down there. And yes lots of crime. Especially ft myers. I too miss my friends, and being able to walk or ride a bike anywhere because of all of the side walks, and flat roads. Hubby just let me know on his way to work via 120 there were patches of black ice, he went sliding, and a truck flipped over in the woodstock furniture area.
