Only given two choices: Big Business or Big Government
LPPT replied to EagleWings's topic in RECENT TOPICS
If it collapses more than retirement will suffer. As a society we don't want anything to collapse what we want is a win/win for the majority. When we allow manipulation to create a winner then we also accept the majority losing. It is not up to any of us to sacrifice so that someone gets to feel good about winning. -

One might also ask who feels more secure about their retirement those working for the government or those working in the private sector. We pay private industry a lot more money than we do government, yet they pay CEOs and Executives 1/2 the company profits, run the company in the ground don't pay the retirement and other benefits and we have to pick up the slack once again. Heck they even screw the stockholders depending on that for retirement. -
Then I will go back and do some research, I was under the impression it paid for upkeep and maintenance also. I won't vote for anything that will fund the building of new things in the county for the taxpayers to maintain. I don't mind paying to maintain what we have, but if we build so much that our taxes go up we will not be very attractive to perspective home buyers. And we will not be able to build our tax base.

I think anyone that has been on here very long has posters regret. Depending on our day or mood we sometimes get so caught up in a conversation that we get carried away. For some it is simply a way to release a lot of pent up frustration on innocent folks. It takes a big person to admit when they are wrong. After a while you start knowing when it is a good time to walk away from the keyboard.

Actually looking at your pergola you can grow clematis, the roots like shade and the vine grows to sun, ground prep is the most important I started mine in peat moss and it did well. Climatis is very showy in late spring and early summer then blooms less and less as the season progresses. The passion flower is not very showy as far as blooms but does bloom steadily, it is very aggressive after the second year and should give you good coverage. I made a mistake planting mine were I did and I am constantly pulling up to get rid of it.
-
I wish I had known you needed some clematis earlier in the spring I would have given you some root and explained how to plant it so it would produce. It will take about 2 years for it to mature enough to get as tall as you want it to. I can give you some passion flower vine if you would like to grow some.

The way I understand it everything that they are asking for money to improve already exist. The money was put aside to build many of theses parks, some of it was grant money. We know that many things were done during the previous administration, which is an important thing to remember. Our current commissioners inherited these maintenance headaches during a recession and housing market crash. The expectation was that when all the homes were filled we would have a healthy tax base to cover the nice things that would in turn attract even more people to tax. I don't see how they

We definitely need the rain to get the root systems in our seedlings strong before the heat sets in. City water will not make this happen. I like the mild storms, we did not get much wind with this one I was disappointed. I need the wind to knock the oak bloom out of the trees so I can finish up my spring chores like pressure washing the pool deck and setting out the furniture.

JohnnyJ and I have been arguing about if we already had it, I said if we haven't it will still be an extremely mild one and it looks like that will be the case this year. I did some research though and we have had over night freezes as late as mid may and temps in the 30's through the end of the month. I for one am glad it will be very mild, I have everything planted.

Yep I have a basket of that, but the slacks I wear for business have to be ironed along with a handful of blouses. Plus I waited so long I went into my reserve slacks and have twice as much Those are the one's I reserved for more formal occasions. I will pat myself on the back that I store off season clothes in a closet pressed and on hangers so my load didn't double. After the second drink I start ironing everything that can't run from me. Baskets are easy

I have not put away or pressed my clothes since then. I decided to make a day of it and change over from winter to summer! Now I have tons of clothes and shoes and 2 baskets of ironing to do. Can I get some sympathy from fellow procrastinators out in p.com land Six views and nobody feel sorry for me yet! Thats ok I have enough sorry for myself to last all day

Actually whether or not it is ok is judged by the amount of reports and complaints received on it. When it is too obvious we try to head it off before people get upset. I was actually considering starting a topic about this in the CM forum since I have seen an increase. As CE mentioned sometimes those that market once or twice a week for a few hours and are not on the forums frequently and do not see how they can be perceived.. AS JMT said it is not a big deal, just a little discussion about it nobody is being called out as a terrible person, just a little reminder that may be overdu

Yes it was a promotion. It was also entertainment that most of the audience enjoyed. It stays on the first page for longer periods because when you vote in a poll it goes to the top, this is the only way to allow people to vote for a winner. Many people enjoy fun promotions, and unlike TV if you don't want to see it you do not have to open it.

Rule of thumb for all CM's direct marketing on the site. There should never be more than 1 of your business topics on recent topics page at a time. Sometimes you will have 2 showing if it is a slow day. Any more than 3 and you are spamming the audience, usually you will get a note from me or a mod informing you that spamming our audience is a bad business move on your part. If you persist we will help you by combining your post or moving them to Too Much Business News, because at some point we want to keep our audience happy and do not want them constantly spammed. We realize tha
