Here is a thread to remember her in.......... The first Mother's Day after my mother passed was painful. Where we come from we had a tradition on Mother's day. The tradition was to wear a rose on your lapel to honor your mother. A red rose if she was living, a white rose if she had passed. The year that she died the roses in my garden were slow to bloom, only buds on all the bushes. The Saturday before mother's day one single white rose bloomed, and there on Mother's day one solitary white rose bloomed. For me it was a sign that she would always be there for me even

Yep we were up late last Thursday night hunting them on our fence line. They are very smart, and domestic animals are a favorite snack for them.

They were offered help from lots of folks on here. They did not want people to pay on the medical expenses they wanted the cash handed to them, like it is on the street corner and that is all I have to say about that.

A 2 year will visually be enthralled by this movie, any objectionable verbal content or insinuation will go right over her head. There are some violent battle scenes towards the end of the movie, so if she is not use to that content it may be disturbing, but many mainstream cartoons have some violence so she may already be acclimated to it and not disturbed.

We will send her your way

I agree, I don't see where an employee should be held responsible for anything an elected official did. Now if we write laws where hired employees that work for gov. are required to report the goings on to citizens then that is another matter. It looks to me as those that are angry at the previous admin. are looking for a scapegoat. And honestly gives the points you are making less credibility. You basically are looking for someone to undue what the previous admin did, I don't think that is possible. This election is about our future here in this county. I really wish c

Oh! was thinking along the lines of married folks.

Oh lawd! don't take me down the road to fun and games! like I said nothing like having one's cake and eating it too

Up until about 50 years ago it was also still legal to switch your property um wife for saying no Up unitl about 20 years ago there was a lot of looking the other way when women reported abuse. Children need a lot of time and care, no women has to be pregnant and dependent in this day and age unless she chooses it. I can see were a man's perspective might be different. Now women can have their cake and eat it too

Yeah a lot of men were on board with that obtaining thing specially since they weren't the one's pushing out bowling balls and getting up all night to nurse. and way back when she could roll out cook breakfast, scrub some clothes, feed the chickens, work the garden ect. Her chores didn't end at bed time and all it got her was another mouth to feed and more work caring for another one.

As far as I know they do control the size of roads and where they are upgraded, they also control the size and type of infrastructure built. Large businesses and industries look at these things when considering where to locate. We already did the 1/2 the county working for the gov years ago that didn't work out well neither did the growth explosion in retail. All the counties that have good infrastructure will be seriously considered, we will be overlooked yet again, and off my children go to fight traffic to work in Atlanta, and buy homes there when they are tired of wasting 4 hours of

I agree that our current commissioners seem very focused on development in this area, I am on board with this. I personally am looking at those running that will be on board with this also. I am very interested in the specifics of where they intend to invest in growth, if it provides good jobs that pay a living wage then I am fine with our county investing in the infra structure. If it is going to provide 100's of more min. wage jobs I am going to have a problem with it. Or creates more maintenance burdens such as a park. People will come for good jobs and they will be able to af

A good question and were will the money come from to build the infra structure to attract them. Everyone pays taxes, I find people object to them most strenuously when they don't like what they are being spent on, or when there are lies about how they are spent. Growing a county is like growing a business you have to invest were it will help you grow and give you the best returns. The growth of this county was not an entirely bad thing, it was a lack of balance in that growth and of course the economy. We were not the only ones to get hurt by this, many believed the real estate bu

My son will be in public school for the first time next year. I intend to do what I have always done and that is to stay on top of him, his homework, his grades and to assist him as needed. He is at school to get an education, it is up to teachers to give him the work and it is up to him to do it and learn. My place is to check up on him and reinforce his work effort. As long as there is a building to protect him from the elements and a competent teacher there we should be fine. No sports should give him more time to study, less games for me to be begged to haul him around to. W

One has to ask how many employees bluntly tell their boss what they think. On the other hand one can ask how they felt about how things were done, and expect an honest answer. I will give a very honest answer, never having known Jerry Shearin personally or had a lot of details about the BOC, as a new business owner in the county the growth was great! The devil may be in the details now. This is not pro or con just retrospect.

My sister called me from Memphis yesterday. My dad came in from Ripley Miss, just ahead of some twisters. She said the flooding was just like we had here this year. Her roof is leaking. And she said they had been under tornado warnings for almost 24 hours straight! I hope we do not get it as bad, I will say it has been a mild spring as far as storms go.

I have met quite a few that are running for local office. You should find all of these folks easily accessible,I believe they are all listed in the phone book and most will have websites. If you can not talk to them on the phone or through an email to ask them questions then you have your answer right there. You need to have your questions ready, what is important to you? They want and need to know what is important to you. I think we have had more transparency the last few years with our BOE than ever before and this is a good thing. If you have issues please attend the meet
