There are procedures in place for preventing things of this nature from happening. Most OR's have "Time Outs". Just prior to incision, everyone in the room is still and quiet while the nurse calls out the patient's name, medical record number, doctor, site AND procedure. If a patient is repositioned after incision or if the doctor leaves the room another time out is done. If this hospital wasn't doing time outs, I bet they will now. So, we wake up to a noise on our back deck yesterday morning, around 3 am. There was a pitbull at our backdoor. As soon as we got near the door, she starts barking and growling at us. It was freezing and she was starving. I couldn't put a blanket or any food because she was growling at us. I called animal control about 6;30. The lady (I forgot to ask her name) called me before so got to my house and said there had been a report the day before of a bigger dog traveling with the pit. We only saw the pit. Well, lo and behold when she arrived at the house, I looked out and there was the other dog.
