  1. THANKS!!! DH works in Buckhead and gets on I-285 at the Roswell Road/Sandy Springs exit and gets on I-75N. Just wanted to make sure he didn't need to find an alternate route.
  2. OH NO...........Colleen is not going to make it!!!! Where has Nikki been all this time. I know "why" her character has been MIA and I know Ashley ran over her. But, where has she been - certainly not on the side or the road for weeks? Do you think Adam might actually be leaving???
  3. Okay I am going to show my stupidity, but I-285 always confuses me as to what is SB, NB, WB, EB, etc, etc. Would I-285 at the I-75 interchange be effected?
  4. DD and DGD's came for a visit this afternoon. Their laughter always brings sunshine to my day - regardless of what the weather is outside the door. DH made it home safe and sound from Buckhead in usual travel time - no delays. All my loved ones are in their homes snug as a bug tonight.
  5. Copied from Fox5Atlanta.com: Boil Water Advisory: Toccoa, Paulding… A boil water advisory is in effect for Toccoa and Paulding County. (I went there looking for information on the stranded students. The info about the water advisory is front and center) SORRY Pubby, I didn't see your confirmation when I posted this.
  6. I started watching it but then got busy in the kitchen and then turned it over to Colts/Dolphins. Didn't bother to DVR it b/c our machine is messing up and needs to be replaced.
  7. Me too - I couldn't stand it. I'd get be afloating on a bean bag like that plumber did earlier today to rescue those ppl. (Now, isn't that a visual???? )
  8. DS was just telling me he heard this on Fox 5. But, he understood them to say "Mulberry Road" and I was thinking it was New Ga Elem on Mulberry Rock Road. My first thought was "OH HECK NO - that wouldn't be happening". But, then again, if they cannot get to them what IS a parent to do???? I just cannot imagine how terrified elementary school age children would be!?!?!?!?!?!?!? ETA: On Fox 5 they said the children would be spending the night.
  9. AMEN!!!! That is the best news I've heard all day (Actually for SEVERAL days).
  10. THANK YOU!! Doesn't Mr. WTA need something???
  11. I am glad everyone is making it home okay but sure do hate it is taking so long. Also, VERY glad DH didn't have those problems. He left Buckhead at 7:38 and made it home in an hour - as usual. He came Roswell Rd to 285 to 75 to Marietta and Dallas Hwy home. WHEW!!! I am SO glad he is home safe and sound.

  13. CBS just announced that Douglas County Schools are closed tomorrow and Wednesday due to the flooding.
  14. WOW!!! We lived in that subdivision when we first moved to GA in 1996.
  15. Brandon, are you out there for an update???
  16. I am not sure. DD lives off McClung and her friend who lives off Nebo, close to Hwy 61 called to tell her they cannot leave b/c the road is closed between her and McClung. There is a creek somewhere along there that is out of its banks. So, not sure if it is just near the creek or not.
  17. Nebo Road is closed between McClung Rd and Hwy 61.
  18. Where is Stephens County? They have already closed schools tomorrow. There are post on here about the road to McGarity Elem. being closed already and doesn't Laird Rd off Bill Carruth go to Panter Elem? There was a post about Laird Rd. being under water. This isn't just a thunder storm, this is SERIOUS and seems like it would put the children in danger to have them on buses (not to mention standing at bus stops) early in the AM. Hopefully by that time the rain will have stopped and even the water starting to recede. But, I am not too confident of that happening.
  19. He is HOME - Thank You, God!! DS said it isn't even raining at Six Flags!!! He said the closer her got here the darker it got and when he got to Richard Sailor Rd it started pouring and the light was out. There is a car in the ditch in front of Hooters - and the car is submersed in water. He said everyone was just "gliding" on the water. I am SO Thankful he is home!!!! Praying for those who are not. It is odd but we are not hearing any sirens.
  20. DS is at work at Six Flags. Will be coming home soon and I am a NERVOUS WRECK!!!! ETA: It is really bad here on Bus 6, too. Been pouring for quite some time.
  21. Just saw it, too. That is HORRIBLE!!!! She had paid this person do odd jobs around her house. Just terrible. Bless her heart - May she RIP.
